The LuLac Edition #2630, April 3rd, 2014
So the other day President Obama announced that more the 7.1 million people enrolled in the health care program called The Affordable Care Act. Despite a poor start on the website and predictions of doom by right wing zealots, the goal set by the White House was exceeded.
Now people will tell you that some of these figures represent people who have changed their insurance. That people who are enrolled won’t necessarily pay. Okay, it is The Affordable Care Act, why wouldn’t you try to find a more affordable plan? The company I work for gave me the option to leave the fold and check out the thing called Obama care. I looked at what I had and guess what, I LIKED MY HEALTH CARE PLAN AND I GOT TO KEEP IT!!!!! Holy Ted Cruz in tights Batman can that be possible?
Then why in the world would people who enrolled not pay? If they did the hard work of getting the damn insurance, why would they not pay the premium? Silly GOP logic.
Then I see people on Face book writing that their son’s, sister’s or uncle’s (never their health care plan because they are on Social Security or have military pensions (Uh government administered programs by the way) health insurance has gone through the roof because of this damned Obama care. NO! The costs are going up because the Insurance companies want to squeeze every blessed penny they can until they can’t.
This law, and it is a law has been beat and battered by irresponsible Americans who dare to call themselves “Patriots”.7.1 million people have signed up. More are coming.
I said on WYLN TV (and later was mocked by people off the set after the broadcast) that in due time “people would say I was right and actually thank me and others who were trying to debunk the lies about this law in a few years."
I still stand by my opinion. 7.1 million. Numbers don’t lie. AS a professor of mine at LCCC used to say, “Upward and Onward”.
HOW DID THIS GUY EVER GET A DATE?
First he wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act. He wants “private insurance” to handle things. Yeah, how has that worked out for the last seventy years?
Then he wants to take Libraries out of national funding saying “private industry” will take care of things. Ryan again is taking an ax to the middle class and working poor. Most people who can’t afford computers use the ones at the Library.
Paul Ryan's budget would eliminate the contraception benefit that is so critical to millions of women.Yep ever notice that these GOP men have no problem telling “the little women” what to do in the bedroom!!
Paul Ryan is Pro Life. Good for him. Most of my friends and family are Pro Life. But to me pro life is not slashing college student aid, K-12 education, Medicaid, and food stamps.
Yep protect that fetus but after it comes out of the womb with an uneducated, abused mother with little access to health care or contraception….then that “Amurican” is on their own.
CARTWRIGHT ON EDUCATION
The program provides funds to State Educational Agencies (SEAs) that then award competitive sub grants to school districts that demonstrate the greatest need for the funds and the strongest commitment to provide adequate resources to substantially raise student achievement in their lowest-performing schools.
“As I’ve said, education is the crown jewel of American infrastructure and as the father of two children, I recognize the need to prioritize education, “said Cartwright. “This grant is an investment in our children – the future of our country. By working to turn around low-performing schools, we can ensure that our children are able to succeed and attain their highest potential regardless of socioeconomic circumstances.”

Excuse me, Mr. Lu-Lac.
I'm sorry to interrupt your Dumbercrat love fest, but could you break down that suspiciously vague 7.1 million number for us?
Does it include people who used to have their own insurance until Omamacare took it away from them -- after Obama promised them they'd always be able to keep it, I mean?
Can you tell us how many of those ObamaCare signees previously did NOT have health insurance?
Have they all paid their first premium? And a follow up question, please: How can you tell?
What happens if someone never pays or stops paying their monthly premiums? Will they still get their eye exams, birth control pills and vasectomies paid for by the government if they're in jail?
Can you explain why you think that signing up 7.1 million people for a mandatory healthcare plan in a nation of 315 million is a great victory for America?
Can you provide us with proof that your 7.1 million number is, ah, really true and not a dumb April Fools joke our administration is playing on the 99 percent of Americans who live on the wrong side the information gap?
"Hooked On A Feeling" video sucked Yonk. Glaringly contradictory.

JACKI LYDEN, HOST:
And now back in time to the era of ABBA. We're talking, of course, about the four gifted Swedes who took the '70s by the scruff of the neck with their hip-wagging brand of Euro pop. And almost as wonderful as ABBA's music were the band's outfits. Dungarees, hot pants, jumpsuits, platform boots, sequins and all of it worn with a dose of glamour. But it turns out that their sartorial choices weren't just about style.
A new, official band biography reveals that ABBA actually got a tax benefit for donning outrageous outfits. Swedish tax laws allowed the cost of their costumes to be deducted against tax, but only if they were wild enough that they could not be worn for everyday use.
So, yeah, of course they were in it for the music, but also the Krona.
LYDEN: You're listening to WEEKEND EDITION from NPR News.
THIS explains Tyrone's wardrobe!!!
I seriously doubt the latest shooting incident is a case of PTSD, but I'm sure that claim will be made. As a Veteran I believe this PTSD thing is running far out of control. I had a friend who after service in Korea at the Chosen Resovour went into a bar and shot the place up wounding or killing no one. He went to jail. No treatment, just criminal charges!Vietnam Vets were called "deranged" and became the subject of every TV show from Hawaii Five O to Ironside and were written off as crazy when they made Agent Orange claims. Vets of all wars combat experienced or not can suffer from some form of post traumatic stress. Believe me you see and experience things we are just not prepared to handle. Iraq and Afghanistan have produced an over the top number of these incidents and claims. Were these wars worse for the soldiers than others? I doubt it. There were no "behind the lines" or truly safe areas in Vietnam. If you left the base anything could happen from Saigon to the DMZ. There was little or nothing available in the form of counseling or compassion in the earlier wars. And so I wonder whats the difference with so many of today's Vets? I am not condemning anyone and as a Vet I respect and try to support them all, but at the same time I ask the question, what the hell is going on?
The Old Sarge
AHHHHHHH, AHHHHHH, I'm hooked on a Heffernon, high on believing that she's in love with me.............
Have they all paid their first premium? And a follow up question, please: How can you tell?
How many people paid their telephone bill? Their Sears bill?
Once enrolled it is the responsibility of the insurance company to get the money. Jesus, you are grasping at straws.
A guy enrolls in a gym and doesn't pay, loses the membership, that's Obama's fault?
According to some, Its all Obamas fault! If your car gets a flat, if
your cable goes out, if it rains, Obamas fault!
Oh to go back to the days of Bush,
Cheney and Rumey when nobody was at fault and the Mission was always Accomplished!
The thing that has always struck me about the Health Care debate is this: the responses against Obama care are based on supposition. If the GOP could make a cogent arguement and not screamrepeal, repeal, repeal...then I'd listen. But it's like some guy saying he thinks he might have a better idea for a stove because he doesn't like the stoves that are out there now. So repeal stoves. Obama care for all of its faults has proven to have a fair amount of improvements in th way insurers treat consumers. That is a known fact. No one will want to repeal that.
And Yonk touched on this last year, this administration stopped the rape of consumers by the credit card companies. Yet very few GOP members of the House and Senate backed that.
That tells me something about what they think is good and what the Dems think is good for America. Or Amurica (classic btw) as Yonki puts it.
See here's the difference between the GOP and the Dems. THis post was referred to as a Democratic love fest. But Yonk is a right winger when it comes to babies born out of wedlck (family values) stopping welfare when the moms exceed the three kid limit and various other un DEmocratic like stances on issues. Are there Dems crying for him to leave te party? Why is there not a name like Rino applied to his beliefs? Or for that matter any Pro Life Democrat?
Tolerance thy name is not GOP.
