The LuLac Edition #3901, October 13th, 2018
1. With less than a month away can you call this election?
Turnout, turnout, turn out!!! Both sides are energized but I want to see those groups who didn’t turn out as strong as they should have in 2016 put their money whee their mouth is. It’s okay to shake your head and say “Oh those poor kids separated from their parents at the border” but let’s see them go and vote to change stuff like this.
2. John Fetternan, will he help or hurt Wolf?
I don’t think anything can hurt Wolf right now given Wagner’s recent Facebook video. People question why Fetterman is not on Wolf signs but Wolf is one of the luckiest politicians that ever lived as far as I’m concerned. He runs against an incumbent in 2014 that his own party didn’t like and beat him. Now in 2018 with a less than smashing record he runs against a very hard working, dedicated candidate who has been imploding in frustration in the late days of the campaign. No matter what the relationship, both will be fine.
3. Are you in favor of campaigning on impeachment?
No, not at all. I say that because he is such a coward, Trump will resign once he gets indicted. If he is stupid enough (and he is a dumb stupid bastard, I think we can all agree on that!) impeachment will come. If the Senate stays Republican, he will be exonerated but we won’ get anything done until 2021. So no, it’s a dumb idea to even talk about it.
4. Who will replace Nikki Haley as.U.N. Ambassador and why do you think this came out of left field as it did?
She’s no dummy in terms of political strategy. As a somewhat sensible Republican and quite young, she wants to position herself away from this chaotic administration. The stuff about spending time with family is garbage. She wants to make a clean getaway while the getting is good. A perfect example from previous years was when George Schultz and Caspar Weinberger kept their heads down at Treasury and HEW when the Watergate turmoil was in play. While they never jumped ship, they kept their eye on the respective balls and like Haley, never fully did a huge defense of the investigations surrounding their bosses. All found work in the future.
5. Thoughts on the Tribe?
Never even bothered to watch an inning because I knew they’d choke.
6. Penn State real or teasing us?
College football is so unpredictable, I really couldn’t say. The only thing I can predict is that James Franklin will go off the rils three times this season before it’s over.
7. Trump in 2020! Yes or no?
Let’s get through ’18 before we say anything else.
8. Did you do anything on national perogie day and national coffee day?
Nope and nope. Stove top (one of these digital fancy schmancie thing with chips in it (no knobs!!!) is down and I had a meeting thqt night. I don’t drink Coffee and it was a Saturday so no.
9. Why do old white guys still bring up Hillary Clinton?
Ask their therapist. I think secretly they worship her on their knees in front of their computers. Her reemergence puts them into a tailspin.
10. Should Alex Trebek host smother debate?
Absolutely. I think he put the two candidates on notice that they didn’t know everything.Debate is a specific terms, this was more of a conversation which I found enlightening.
11. Are you a pumpkin fan?
Only for pie and soup.
12. I’m so glad John Dickerson. Is back on Face The Nation and think she is better then Margaret Brennen thoughts?
Brennan is off on Maternity leave so he’s filling in. As I stated previously on this site, I’m warming up to her. My pick was Nancy Cordes when Bob Schieffer left.
13. With your new position, is there a new go to caffeine laden afternoon snack to pull you through?
Yes. Nestle Dark Chocolate or bittersweet morsels. The kind you use for baking and Chocolate Chip cookies are in a jar on my desk. The cacao level is over 50% so that is an energy boost before I get out.
