MEUSER AND KELLER VOTE NO FOR INQUIRY ON JANUARY 6th INSURRECTION
Congressmen Dan Meuser and Fred Keller voted no for an independent commission that would look into the January 6th Insurrection at the Capitol. Five police men dead, confederate flags on the floor of the House, threats made on the President of the Senate, Mike Pence who Meuser stood with during the 2020 campaign. When these two clowns dare to salute the war dead Memorial Day, and call themselves "patriots", they lie.
Here's a photo of Meuser (standing by and not doing anything by the way) as his fellow House members tried to stop the insurrection from Trumpanzees. When they tell you how much they love God, know that only god they worship is Donald Trump.
BARLETTA AND MEUSER WANT TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR
This week news first came out that former Congressman Lou Barletta wanted to run for Governor. Barletta gave up a lifetime Congressional seat to run for Senate against Robert Casey. He was thumped. Taking his place in that seat, reconstituted as the 9th was former Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser. Meuser has served two terms since election in 2018 while Barletta has been cooling his heels. When Barletta announced he was interested in running for Governor that didn’t surprise many. Right now, the GOP bench is very low with viable statewide players. Barletta has gained name recognition in his last run and it should be noted the Pennsylvania voter never punishes a candidate who loses statewide. As a matter of fact, it has become a type of political prerequisite. Governors Bob Casey, Milton Shapp, and Ed Rendell found that losing races gave them a leg up. Senators Arlen Specter and Pat Toomey weren’t hurt by previous losses. With the Trump base firmly in place a Barletta candidacy is certainly not out of the realm of at least gaining a nomination. So, it looked like Lou was getting a good press bump.
Until Meuser weighed in and opined that he might be interested too. Dan was thinking, “Wait, this guy wasn’t a revenue secretary, this guy shied away from running for Lt. Governor. Why him and NOT ME? A Barletta/Meuser fight for the old Congressional seat might have been expected but this is like intra party cannibalization.
THE JUDICIAL RACE IN THE LU
Stefanie Salavantis wins a double and Representative Tarah Toohil is still in the game. Toohil will face off against Magistrate Alexandra Kokura Kravitz, the Democrat. Talk was that Kravitz was in the running for a double herself but that never materialized. While the Democrats have a registration edge, it can be said that there might be a passion deficit. Democrats are going to have to carry the Greater Pittston Area hard for Kravitz. The key is going to be Wilkes-Barre. During the last local election, Democrats were bested in the County Council races. That happened because there was serious upheaval in the leadership ranks. That seemed to have settled but it is worth noting that Republicans as of late, on the local level close ranks. The beneficiary of that can be Toohil.
THE JUDICIAL RACE IN THE LAC
Two candidates face off in The Lac. Walsh-Dempsey and Arora represent their perspective parties. Look for the Democratic advantage in voters to overcome the tepid and scattered Republican party. The party hasn’t been as bad as it once was but is still pretty incompetent in winning elections in the ways they once did.The GOP in The Lac should just save their money.
JIM BOGNET’S WHINES AND LIES
Former Congressional candidate Jim Bognet was on the radio whining about the glitches in the election system. This is the guy that railed against corruption all because he lost the election when the mail in vote came in for his race against Matt Cartwright. Bognet slung the same old shit about fraud and the fact that he was ahead but lost the next day. He said Luzerne County officials had to be held accountable for the incompetence and specifically came after Bob Morgan who was in his position for a hot 2 months. Nary a word was said though about the corrupt Republicans who were prosecuted as well as his lord and savior Donald Trump who still to this day says he won the Presidency.
Bognet is gearing up for another run. Bitter, sour and filled with Fox News talking points.
THE BIDENS MADE $607,000 LAST YEAR, THEIR TAX RETURNS SHOW. THAT'S $300,000 LESS THAN 2019, IN PART BECAUSE THEY GAVE UP SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS DURING THE ELECTION.
President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden reported earning $607,336 last year and paying $157,414 in federal income taxes, according to 2020 federal tax returns made public Monday, a decline in income from the previous year. The White House released the Bidens' tax returns and those of Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff, coinciding with Monday's extended deadline to pay federal income taxes.
The couple gave $30,704 to 10 different charities, the largest reported gift of which was $10,000 to the Beau Biden Foundation, a public charity dedicated to protecting children from abuse. The foundation was created to honor the life of Joe Biden's son, who died in 2015 of brain cancer at the age of 46. This is in direct opposition to old Diaper Don who stole from his charities.
The release restores a White House tradition that was broken by former President Donald Trump, who refused to release his tax returns as president. It marks the 23rd year of tax returns released by Biden. For all those Trumpanzees who said that Biden got rich and was a crook, again for them ACCUSATION IS CONFESSION. Trump avoided publicly releasing his taxes both before and during his time in office, citing an ongoing audit by the IRS. He was the first president in decades not to release such records. The New York Times in September published the first of several articles analyzing some of Trump's leaked tax information, the reporting of which the former president dismissed as "totally fake news." According to the exposé, the self-proclaimed billionaire paid a total of $750 in federal income taxes in both 2016 and 2017 thanks to a nearly $10 million tax credit partially connected to a hotel project in Washington, D.C.
The Times report analyzed 18 years' worth of tax returns for Trump and his businesses going back to 2000, finding that he paid zero income taxes in 10 of those years. According to the paper, it was "largely because he reported losing much more money than he made Biden released his taxes because it was a thing a man who wasn’t afraid of criticism would do. The real reason why Trump never released his taxes is because the man is a crook and cash poor.
BOOKER, BLUMENTHAL, CASEY STATEMENT ON VIOLENCE IN IS
U.S. Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Bob Casey (D-PA) issued the following statement:
“We grieve with the innocent Palestinians and Israelis who have lost their loved ones to this recent cycle of violence. Israel should not have to endure more than 1,600 rocket attacks by a terrorist organization, Hamas, which brutalizes the Palestinian people and targets Israelis with unceasing violence. Israel has the right to defend itself from these terrorist attacks and we urge Israeli leadership to strive to minimize harm to civilians to the maximum extent possible.”
"We also recognize that Palestinians have been residents of Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan neighborhoods of Jerusalem for generations. We support the Israeli Supreme Court’s decision to delay ruling on the removal of six Palestinian families from their homes in East Jerusalem.”
“This conflict will not be solved through violence and it must stop. We welcome Secretary Blinken’s announcement that a senior American diplomat will be headed to the Middle East to urge de-escalation.”
“This moment demands a recommitment to dialogue from Israeli and Palestinian leaders, and a renewed commitment to a two-state solution that affirms Israel’s safety, security and right to exist as a Jewish state and the human dignity, human rights, safety and self-determination of the Palestinian people.
TOOMEY SAYS HE DOUBTS TRUMP REMAINS GOP’S ‘DE FACTO’ LEADER
Republican Senator Pat Toomey says he doubts that former President Donald Trump will remain the GOP’s “de facto” leader by the next presidential election, and he said the party should reject Trump’s populist message in favor of a traditional small-government approach as it looks toward the 2022 midterm elections.
“I don’t think he will be seen as the de facto leader of the party, certainly not by 2024,” Toomey, who isn’t seeking re-election to his Pennsylvania seat in 2022, said on Bloomberg TV’s “Balance of Power,” in an interview Monday. “And in 2022, I think we’ve got a very good shot at winning.”
Toomey said Trump was protectionist, a populist and favored “lots of big government spending.” Republicans would be better positioned to retake control of the Senate and House by stressing lower taxes and policies that can expand job creation, setting up a greater contrast with President Joe Biden and Democrats, he said.
Toomey said the Biden administration is trying to push the country “too far left” with its agenda. And because of that and the fact the party out of power historically fares well in midterm elections, Toomey said, voters are likely to reward the GOP in 2022.
REP. CARTWRIGHT HIGHLIGHTS EMERGENCY BROADBAND BENEFIT PROGRAM, URGES ELIGIBLE NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIANS TO APPLY
U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (D-PA-08) highlighted the recently launched Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program and urged eligible constituents to enroll to receive a discount on their monthly internet bill.
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a groundbreaking new program that will help economically vulnerable Americans afford their monthly internet bill. The $3.2 billion program was created as part of the final omnibus appropriations bill enacted in December. The EBB Program will provide struggling families a discount of $50 off the monthly cost of home internet service. It may also provide an additional subsidy for a computer. Internet providers who participate in the program can apply to the FCC for reimbursement.
“Access to reliable, high-speed internet is a necessity, not a luxury,” said Rep. Cartwright. “So many things moved online over the past year since the pandemic hit, from school to doctor’s visits to work. This shift reinforces the need to ensure everyone has the ability to get connected, and that starts with making internet access affordable. I was proud to support the enactment of the Emergency Broadband Benefit last year, and I encourage eligible Northeastern Pennsylvanians to apply. I’ll continue working to expand internet access as we look toward investing in twenty-first century infrastructure through the American Jobs Plan.”
Households interested in learning whether they qualify are encouraged to visit the FCC’s new enrollment website – https://getemergencybroadband.org/ – and then sign up for the program through their internet service provider.
RIGHT WING RACIST GUN TOTING MANIAC RUNNING FOR SENATE
During last year’s summer of violence and unrest, some in America took the opportunity to loot, pilfer, destroy property and tear apart people’s lives -- simply because they felt they were owed a debt for the injustices of generations past.
When the mob begins to march -- whether it’s in the suburbs of St. Louis, Portland, OR, or Houston, TX – everyone is fair game, no one is safe from their rath.
My name is Mark McCloskey and I’m proud I can say that when the mob came for me and my wife, we stood our ground. And the scariest part of all? What you saw happen to us could just as easily happen to any of you reading this email today.
That’s why I have decided to answer a calling to stand up and defend the people of Missouri – and every freedom-loving American – by running for the U.S. Senate.
This guy is so desperate, he sent ME 12 e mails. (AP, LuLac)
