1.       Hey Yonk, it’s August 13^th. Did Trump get reinstalled yet?

 

No he didn’t! He must think the Presidency is like running the local PTA! Just another delusional falsehood from a guy who has clearly lost his mind. The guy is pure bullshit and evil.

 

2.       I heard you on WILK the other morning. Was that a one-off or are you going to be doing that again sometime soon?

A one-off. I’m extremely busy with what I’m doing now and enjoying the hell out of it.

 

3. 3.   The Infrastructure bill. Bipartisan support. Is that an accomplishment or will it have no impact on voters?

It is an accomplishment to be sure. Passing it 69-30 is certainly allowing President Biden to keep his campaign promise that he could reach across the aisle. To get 19 GOP Senators was a ****ing big deal. But let’s not be naïve here. This GOP Senate will revert back to form. Rick Scott was bellyaching about how “it has to be paid for” when he said nary a word (as Governor) about the Trump tax cuts for the rich. Biden proved his point about bi partisanship with this vote BUT he now has to take care of the most critical threat facing this country which is the attempt to roll back the voting rights of people of color in this country. The country, especially the Democrats need to remember that Rob Portman of Ohio and Mitt Romney was NOT elected President, Joe Biden was. No matter what the Democrats do, the GOP attack machine will come after them with mindless and false attacks. So they might as well press the pedal to the metal and do everything they can before 2022. 

4.         Infrastructure week under Trump. How did that work out?

The guy had no understanding of how government works. He had a poor incompetent staff. He undermined everything that could have helped him get something done. The rich thing about this is the GOP Senators in 2021 ignored him because he wasn’t relevant to the conversation. Perhaps there is a lesson here. Maybe these guys are learning Trump is the ultimate paper tiger who has lost his steam and panache. Unlike Biden, Trump had no divided opposition within his party. Except for the Judges and his tax cut for the 1%, Trump squandered his GOP majority.

5.       Andrew Cuomo gone. Was it about time?

Absolutely.  For years Cuomo had the reputation as living off of his late Father’s reputation and being difficult to work with. When he was HUD Secretary under President Clinton the word was that he never played nice with others. He made his comeback  in New York after he championed the investigationof  the sexual escapades of Governor Elliot Spitzer which led to his downfall. Ironic that it was a sexual harassment issue that kayoed him in the end.

6.       What’s the story on Kathy Hochul Cuomo’s former second in command?

She is in her second term as New York’s Lt. Governor. She was picked by Cuomo after his first term running mate Robert Duffy declined to run for a second term.  on raising the minimum wage in New York to $15, push for the state's paid family leave law, and advocacy for women. She led the governor's "Enough is Enough" initiative to combat sexual assault on college campuses and co-chairs the state's heroin and opioid abuse task force. Hoxhul, a Buffalo native won a US House special election in 2011 for New York's 26th Congressional District. The seat had long been considered safe by Republicans, who held the district for four decades until Hochul's victory. The election was seen as a proxy battle over a then-House Republican proposal to reform Medicare.  In Congress, she introduced the Clothe a Homeless Hero Act, which directed airports to deliver unclaimed clothes at airport checkpoints to veterans’ organizations. Her bill became law in 2013. After the district was redrawn, she lost her reelection bid in 2012 to former Republican Rep. Chris Collins. Hochul will become New York’s first female Governor.

7.       Favorite Ice Cream treat of all time.

Of all time? I’m pretty judicious with ice cream these days but the one flavor I will always make room for is the Curly Cream in Plains Lemon Vanilla Twist. I’m also enjoying the new Klondike Cones once in a while.Then pf course there is the venerable cherry or grape Popsicle. The dirty little secret about ice cream is that in many cases it has less calories than a donut.

8.       What do you think about people who buy into conspiracy theories about the vaccine?

I think they are just plain stupid. I heard one wack job the other day on WILK. Donna from Old Forge went through every single catch phrase used to attack Dr. Fauci, the vaccinated and the mainstream media. Even Frank Andrews was commenting on her diatribe after she was done. These are the self righteous ignorant slobs that live among us.   The only good thing about them is that we can see and hear them coming.

9.       How long did it take you to pick the bumper music when you were on WILK?

Picking it took all of two minutes. Editing them down to 10 took two days!

10.    What do you think of your Indians/Guardians fiasco?

Unbelievable that no one bothered to google the name that was copyrighted by  a Roller Derby team but as a Tribe fan, I’m used to stuff like that.

11.   Latest read for the summer?

I’m actually tackling James Joyce’s “Ulysses” and trying to make sense out of that.

12.   Connor Lamb in the race for Democratic Senator. Thoughts?

To be honest there was some hesitation about John Fetterman locally. It will be a battle between a Progressive on steroids and a more moderate one. It will be interesting to watch. Lamb was in town but it was interesting that none of the Democratic powerhouses and insiders were there. I wasn't invited but I was told it was a Bozinski/Pashinski show. 

13.   Most annoying commercial on TV?

Cars for kids. Awful.
