MAYBE I’M AMAZED

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that the Afternoon Buffoon on WILK outright lied about President Biden after playing a soundbite when Biden was asked a question. In the sound bite Biden stated that “I am not prepared to answer that question”. Afterwards the Afternoon Buffoon turned that into Biden not telling the truth. How he got from that point when literally nothing was said by the President shows you just how biased and anti-government the old A.B. is.  

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……that all of my criticism of WILK hosts comes only after hearing the most egregious statement from either a caller or a host in the 9am to 6pm time period. After hearing no push back, I usually move on. About 45 to 90 seconds is all I need of stupidity, hatred and nu-Christian and nu-American opinions.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED….that today is Fredric Chopin’s birthday. A child prodigy, he completed his musical education and composed his earlier works in Warsaw before leaving Poland at the age of 20. Unlucky in love, he maintained an often troubled relationship with the French writer Aurore Dupin (known by her pen name, George Sand). However, a brief and unhappy visit to Mallorca with Sand in 1838–39 would prove one of his most productive periods of composition.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that it was no surprise that Pat Robertson came out of his hole to opine on the Ukraine crisis. The former televangelist Pat Robertson came out of retirement to comment on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, saying Russian President Vladimir Putin is being "compelled by God" to bring about the "End of Times," prophesied in the Bible. Robertson made a special appearance on The 700 Club Monday to weigh in on Russia's attack on Ukraine, saying Putin is simply following God's wishes to spark an End of Times battle against Israel. Robertson cited verses from the book of Ezekiel regarding nations coming together to rise up against Israel—saying Russia's invasion is a precursor to that event.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that the cry baby Republicans in the state are going to the U.S. Supreme Court because they aren’t happy with the 2022 election map. They are suing over Pennsylvania’s new congressional map asking Monday that  the Supreme Court intervene with an emergency injunction that would bar the new map from taking effect. The request also asks the high court to consider forcing the Keystone State to hold their 2022 congressional elections at-large.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..but not  surprised that gutless  hypocrite Fred Keller has declined to run for his seat against Dan Mueser.  Congressman Keller was gerrymandered out of his district.  Keller most likely will wind up with a plum job.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……but Diaper Don never fails to amaze me that Trump withheld aid from Ukraine and frequently bashed NATO, despite what he's now claiming amid Russia's unprovoked war. It was Trump who tried to blackmail the Ukraine President with a specious claim against Hunter Biden. That’s why he was impeached the first time, over his “perfect phone call”. Senator Mitt Romney who knows a thing or two about Russia and voted in favor of Trump’s Impeachment said this, “ “Stating that ‘a lot of those people are changing their stripes’ due to shifting political and international responses, the longtime Russia critic said it was ‘unthinkable’ and ‘almost treasonous’ that ‘anybody in this country’ could side with the murderous Russian dictator. Considering that Trump has recently lauded Putin as ‘very savvy’ for his ‘genius’ invasion of Ukraine, [CNN host Dana] Bash said ‘treasonous is a big word’ while wondering if Romney was referencing the twice-impeached ex-president. ‘Well, I said it’s nearly treasonous,’ the former GOP presidential nominee replied. ‘Standing up for freedom is the right thing to do in America. Anything less than that, in my opinion, is unworthy of American support.’” (CNN, LuLac)

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that Major League Baseball consisting of owners and players had at least two months to reach an agreement. No meetings were held for weeks and then on the last day they meet for 15 hours straight. Jeez.Talks broke down, no baseball on Opening Day, March 31st. Billionaires ad millionaires tied at a big fat ZERO.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……. that Burger King’s Whopper, their signature sandwich actually predates the McDonald's Big Mac, and it has been part of some of the chain's most popular promotions. But now BK has removed The Whopper as a core discount item and is no longer available on the 2 for $6 or 2 for $5 promotions. The problem is that these heavily discounted menus often serve as loss leaders. That's fine if they draw customers to a chain's locations and they then also buy wider-margin items. It's a problem when people (like me) come in and pick only high-value items. When that happens the franchisee may actually lose money on the transaction. That's a huge problem, made worse by the supply-chain issues that are driving ingredient prices higher.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……but again not surprised that Neil Diamond has sold his entire song catalogue to Universal Music Group (UMG). Executives at the music company announced on Monday that they have reached a deal to acquire the Sweet Caroline hit maker's songs, as well as the rights to all recordings from his career, including 110 unreleased tracks, an unreleased album, and archival videos.  The first Neil Diamond record I bought was a 45 RPM of “Thank The Lord For the Night Time”. His most iconic though that spans generations and cultures is this one, “Sweet Caroline”  which UMG paid for as the headline song it wanted.  

Another great one was a flip of “I Am, I Said”, called “Done Too Soon”, a song that most likely inspired Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire”.
