MAYBE I’M AMAZED
Our “Maybe I’m Amazed” logo.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED………..but not really that the GOP lie machine is out in full swing during this campaign season. Lie number 1 is ad claimed that gas prices under Sen. Maggie Hassan increased 23 percent during her prior tenure as governor -- which turned out to not only be false, but prices actually decreased according to the report the GOP cited. Plu as a Senator what exactly can she do about it. Lie number 2 is North Carolina’s Cheri Beasley and accused her of setting free a "child porn offender,” when she served as chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. All these cry baby snowflakes so is LIE and the dumb asses think no one will them on it. For those keeping score, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has now had two television ads pulled over the course of three weeks.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that this Thursday will be a defining day in whether people take the Insurrection attack seriously. The House Committee will start holding televised hearings this week that will get the down and dirty details out to the public.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that Romeo Crennel announced on Monday that he's retiring. He's been coaching football for 50 years. He was associated with the Kansas City Chiefs recently spent 2014-2021 with the Houston Texans, serving in a number of different roles on the defensive coaching staff and also as an interim head coach in 2020.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..and glad that The Supreme Court on Monday turned away an appeal by a St. Louis couple whose law licenses were sanctioned after they pointed guns at Black Lives Matter protesters near their home in the summer of 2020. The couple — Mark and Patricia McCloskey — asked the justices to vacate the sanctions against them, arguing the disciplinary action they received ran afoul of their Second Amendment right to protect themselves and their home in the face of what they say was a violent threat. The court’s denial of the McCloskeys’ petition for appeal Monday came in an unsigned order without noted comment or dissent. The move leaves intact the disciplinary sanctions against the McCloskeys, which includes the possible indefinite suspension of their law licenses if they commit any violations over a one-year probationary period that began last February.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that every year the number of veterans still around from World War II is diminishing. D-Day was a day of great consequence to the war and one wonders if it could even be a success in these trying and uncertain times.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that CNN 2 ran aground. I still wonder if the people who signed up for it had contracts or not.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that on Thursday when these hearings begin, what you need to do id watch out for the testimony from former Vice President Mike Pence’s allies. The Pence associates could set Trump's defenders back on their heels as they reveal the content of conversations between the former president and their former boss as Trump tried to get him to refuse to oversee the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that the Trumpanzees will be saying it’s only a few bad apples and that the Committee is illegitimate. The impotent, flacikd lying GOP refused to participate.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……but not surprised that The Guardian is reporting that the founder of a Christian sect to which Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett belongs was described in court documents as exerting total control over the group's women and girls. A sworn affidavit filed by a former member in the 1990s described a sexualized atmosphere in the home of People of Praise founder Kevin Ranaghan and his wife Dorothy Ranaghan -- where Barrett stayed while attending law school at Notre Dame -- and alleges instances of abuse and inappropriate sexual behavior.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that the summer is hot dog season. In a year During peak hot dog season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Americans typically consume 7 billion hot dogs. That’s 818 hot dogs consumed every second during that period.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……that the last Howard Johnson’s restaurant has closed. Located in Lake George, New York. It closed sometime in May and has been up for lease since December 2021. The property, located near the Adirondack Mountains, had long been a staple in the area, which is gearing up for another busy summer tourist season. Named after its founder, Howard Johnson’s opened its first full-service location in 1929 and quickly began dotting the country, franchising the name and menu long before such practices were common. Meat platters and ice cream kept diners and road-trippers satisfied; Johnson eventually branched out into the hotel business. The brand became so closely identified with mid-20th-century Americana that a location was faithfully recreated for a scene in AMC’s Mad Men.
The part of the HoJo episode is 4 minutes and 8 seconds in.

Considering that Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett's foundation faith is the Catholic Cult which turned a blind eye to the molestation of so many young boys, this isn't surprising.
Maybe I'm amazed that when I see all the gun violence, mass murders, street crime, lack of health insurance, poverty, etc.. that compared to the UK, Canada and Australia, perhaps the U.S. would have been better off losing the revolutionary war.
