 MAYBE I'M AMAZED

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…but not really that gas prices have come down. The high gas prices were what the GOP tried to run on  during the recent mid-terms. The bottom line is the President can only do so much in terms of keeping prices even.  Market forces, supply and demand but the Republicans who use that as a mantra to justify tax cuts conveniently forget that when it comes to logic.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED….that just when it seems Tom Brady is showing his age, he finds a new receiver and comes back to engineer a win for his team. The most recent comeback against the Saints is the 44^th time he has done that in his career.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..but scared and saddened that my prediction about attacks on the power grid might be coming true. The recent issue in North Carolina shows how vulnerable we are to on ground attacks let alone the cyber kind. It has brought a segment of tat population to its knees with no power. I’m afraid this can be a test run for the real thing.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……that it took me 51 years to finally see the hottest movie of the summer of ’71 called “The Summer of ‘42”. Ponderous in some places but not a bad way to spend a Saturday night courtesy of TCM and my DVR.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that in Georgia nearly a million dollars is being spent on a run off. All because a third party candidate got 100,000 votes that took away from both Warnock and Walker.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……that CNN has made drastic budget cuts and even disabled the Headline News network.  This was coming after the merger that gave a huge corporation the reins.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that Diaper Don made a claim about Bush 41and 43 that each took document of national security and no one called them out on it. Then Trump said the documents were in a Chinese restaurant with broken windows. My God, his mind is so filled with shit manure farmers must be jealous.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that Trump even said he’d suspend or eliminate the Constitution. You know that’s bat shit crazy especially when traditional GOP leaders who put up with Trump are backing away from that stuff.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..that teens’ brains aged faster during the first year of the pandemic, study says, and stress may be to blame. That and too much time on an IPhone.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED…..but not really that St. Nicholas Day is barely observed these days. Gone is the time when kids left a shoe out to get filled by Nick.  Although not as widespread as in other countries, some people in the United States celebrate a separate St Nicholas Day by putting their shoes outside their bedroom doors or hanging an empty stocking by the fireplace on the evening of 5 December. St Nicholas comes during the night. On the morning of 6 December, those people will find their shoes/stockings filled with gifts and sugary treats. Widespread adoption of the tradition has spread among the German, Polish, Slovak, Belgian, and Dutch communities throughout the United States. Americans who celebrate Saint Nicholas Day generally also celebrate Christmas Day (25 December) as a separate holiday. Some of the traditions and rituals of Christmas, such as leaving out a shoe or stocking to be filled, are similar to the traditions of Saint Nicholas Day.
