AND THE BEAT GOES ON....

NEW HILLARY AD

The Clinton campaign today unveiled a new 30-second television ad in Pennsylvania highlighting Senator Clinton’s readiness to be steward of the economy on Day One, in contrast to John McCain.
The ad builds on the 3 am ad that effectively highlighted Hillary’s readiness to be commander-in-chief before the Ohio and Texas primaries. Like that ad, this one features a ringing phone that the President must answer – this time, the call is to address the economic crises facing the nation.
Because of her experiences inside and outside the White House, on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue, Hillary is the most prepared to answer that call.
While John McCain admits he doesn’t know very much about the economy, Hillary Clinton is the one presidential candidate with a plan to crack down on mounting housing foreclosures and her economic plan would create 5 million green jobs.
By contrasting her economic readiness and vision with John McCain, the ad not only makes the case that Hillary is most ready to lead the economy, but also that she is the best equipped to beat John McCain in November.

OBAMA TALKS UNION

Senator Barack Obama addressed the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO this morning in Philadelphia, emphasizing his commitment to fighting the corporate special interests and delivering an agenda that makes sense for working Americans. As President, Obama will renegotiate NAFTA—which Senator Clinton supported as First Lady—invest in a green economy to help keep good jobs here in America, and make sure that every American has quality health care.
“Over the last seven years, we’ve had an administration that serves the interests of the wealthy and the well-connected, no matter what the cost to working families, and to our economy,” Senator Obama said. “It’s an administration that didn’t lift a finger while our economy rolled toward recession until the pain folks were feeling on Main Street trickled up to their friends on Wall Street.
“It’s an administration that’s been handing out tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans who don’t need them and aren’t even asking for them. And it’s an administration that denies labor a seat at the table when trade deals are being negotiated, that doesn’t believe in unions, that doesn’t believe in organizing, and that’s packed the labor relations board with their corporate buddies.”

THE YANKS ARE HERE

Had the pleasure of attending the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees dinner tonight in Dickson City. I was going to take a stroll over to Genetti's in Wilkes Barre after work to attend (assuming this was Wilkes Barre's turn for the banquet) but silly me, it was up in Dickson City again. The event was great, the team looked fit and revved up and ready to go, people were there from as far away as New Hampshire and the players were gracious. Only one though wore a suit, Kei Igawa, the others were casual. Minor league baseball and the Yanks are back. But if this is truly a Scranton/Wilkes Barre effort, let's move this event around. PLAY BALL!

after the recent dust up in Lac County about the stadium and the team and who really owns them, do you actually believe this is a Scranton AND Wilkes-Barre team? We're lucky they sell tickets to Outlanders from Lu County.
