PHOTO INDEX: STATE REPRESENTATIVE FRANK ANDREWS SHIMKUS AND HIS BRIDE TO BE GABRIELLE PRUTISTO, AND SENATOR ROBERT CASEY AND GOVERNOR ED RENDELL.
BOB AND ED
Senator Bob Casey and Governor Ed Rendell were on NBC TV's Meet the Press today touting the candidacies of Obama and Clinton. Both did well in stating the case for their candidate. Casey chose to stick with short answers to host Tim Russert's questioning while Rendell seemed to revel in expounding on his answers. It was no debate but it was a draw in terms of presentation and performance. Both handled Russert and his "old quotes dug up designed to bite you when you're not looking" very well. The real winner: Pennsylvania, more national exposure in this important Presidential year.

BUSTING UP
All we need is Neil Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" playing in the background. It was announced that Luzerne County Commissioners Maryanne Petrilla and Greg Skrepnak will disolve their joint election committee, divide the proceeds and go their seperate ways. Running as a team in November, that aura has been shattered by events under the dome regarding everything from debit cards to no bid contracts. This after a sweep by the Democratic party of all the row offices! That hasn't happened since the 1970s! This latest piece of news has to have the county Democratic chair Mark Bufalino scratching his head wondering just how much success these county Dems can stand. My friend Gort sent me this YOU TUBE link, I could not resist.

OOPS, again!
ReplyDeleteClose on the heels of her "imagined sniper fire story", Mrs Clinton has had to back off on her "poor pregnant woman refused treatment at an Ohio hospital leading to death story"!
It seems that one wasnt true either!
A little research could have killed both tales, but when fiction is better than truth, why spoil a good lie?
McCain is having Senior Moments
and Hillary has problems with the Truth. O'Bama looks and sounds better and better to me as the campaign goes on...
I say,
ReplyDelete"Way to go, Frank!
Sincere Congratulations
from all the bald 50 old
guys in NEPA."
It will be interesting to see how Shimkus does in the primary against Kevin Murphy using the write in method. Murphy's signage is all over the district. Will Frank lay in wait and cede the nomination to Murphy, then take him on in the fall? As Frank used to say at the anchor desk: STAY TUNED.
ReplyDeleteYonk!
ReplyDeleteLove that YOU TUBE video on LuLac. As Freddie Prinze used to say, Looooooooking Gooooood!
