NATIONAL DEMOCRATS,

QUIT THE PEARL CLUTCHING AND STOP RAIL-RIDING BIDEN

THERE IS A PROCESS: FOLLOW IT!!!!!

It is stunning to me that national Democrats are conspiring to deny President Biden the nomination he won.

It is amazing to me that the Republican Party has joined in lockstep a convicted felon, rapist, and sexist, business fraud criminal and ignorant man who has enriched himself at the expense of the American taxpayer.

Joe Biden is not a criminal.

Joe Biden is a consequential President.

Joe Biden is someone who has delivered.

But now, after one bad night, the Washington insiders are knifing him all under the guise of saving democracy.

Joe Biden saved democracy.

In the tough interview with Stepanopoulos last night, Biden was asked many times about cognitive decline. He answered politely and logically.

But the bed wetters in the Senate and House don’t like anything he said about the polls. What was he going to say about polling, “Oh yeah George I’m way down in the polls and I’m going to tank the race.

Biden should stay and here’s why.

1.                People respect him. The choice is between good and evil. If America doesn’t understand that, it’s on THEM not HIM.

2.                If he wins and in the second term  and there is a decline, there is the 25th amendment. Harris becomes President. PROCESS!

3.                If he is shoved off the ticket, you get Harris anyway.

4.                When that happens, you get a new Vice Presidential nominee who will barely have time to be vetted.

5.                The purpose of a Presidential ticket is to have consistency. A brand if you will.

6.                Then there is the GOP attack machine. If Biden gets pushed off, the new nominees will be hammered with lies, distortion and mud. Remember they turned three time medal winner and Vietnam War vet John Kerry into a deserter in 2004.

7.                Other Presidents had health issues. FDR in 1944, Ike in ’56, even JFK who had Addison’s disease, LBJ with heart issues, Nixon with paranoia, and Reagan with colon cancer and early Alzheimer’s. In all these instances, these men were supported without public reservation. Then there’s the overweight Trump who has serious self-control issues.

8.                By hammering home this point that your guy is a drooling incompetent only helps the fiction that Biden can’t handle adversity.  The sad part is that these people are supposed to be loyal Democrats.

Instead of worrying about the down ticket races, these guys and women should be out on the stump calling out Trump’s crimes and not Biden’s 90 minute mistake.

In 2000, the Dems gave it away with Gore and we got Bush.

In 2016, we had Democrats not real happy with Hillary (Bernie Sanders included) and we got Trump and a GOP Supreme court.

But hey, go ahead, keep at it, because of your whining and crying about someone else’s health and not supporting him, you my national Democrats are committing political murder on our democracy. Enjoy your self-righteous nay saying while everything this administration accomplished in the last four years is pissed away by right winger crooks.

SHUT UP and follow the process.

CARTWRIGHT INTRODUCES BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION INTENDED TO OVERCOME BARRIERS AND IDENTIFY POLICY GAPS FOR DEAFBLIND POPULATION

THE DEAFBLIND DATA ACT WOULD REQUIRE THE CENSUS BUREAU TO PUBLISH DATA ON INDIVIDUALS WITH COMBINED HEARING AND VISION LOSS

In honor of Deafblind Awareness Week and Helen Keller’s Birthday, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (D-PA-08) today introduced bipartisan legislation to help overcome barriers and identify policy gaps for individuals with combined hearing and vision loss. The Deafblind Disabled Americans Table Approximation (DATA) or Deafblind DATA Act, would require the U.S. Census Bureau to publish data on the deafblind population.

Currently, the U.S. Census Bureau only collects and publishes data about individual disabilities, such as hearing difficulty and vision difficulty, but does not publish data about people who experience multiple disabilities. As a result, there is limited data on the number of Americans experiencing the combination of hearing loss and vision loss, also known as deafblindness.

Deafblindness can pose communication challenges, limit information access, and hinder social and emotional well-being. In children, it may significantly impact development and educational attainment. For deafblind adults, it can be difficult to secure employment opportunities or live independently.

“As members of Congress, it is our responsibility to ensure that all of our constituents have access to the resources and opportunities available to them,” Rep. Cartwright said. “Without a comprehensive national picture of the deafblind population, these individuals may not receive the support needed to thrive. My commonsense legislation represents a significant and meaningful step towards identifying policy gaps for deafblind individuals, which will ensure that all members of our communities are being represented.”

National estimates of individuals experiencing deafblindness vary – ranging from 40,000 to 100,000 individuals – because, to date, there is no national mechanism to collect data on the deafblind population.

Specifically, the Deafblind DATA Act would:

 ·         Require the Census Bureau to publish a summary of those who answered “yes” to experiencing both hearing and vision loss on its American Community Survey, an annual household survey the Census Bureau administers:

 ·         Require the Census Bureau to submit a report to Congress outlining the feasibility of publishing this table and expanding data collection on the deafblind population as a unique disability category.

This legislation is endorsed by the American Association for the DeafBlind, the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC), the National Coalition on Deafblindness, the National Family Association for DeafBlind (NFADB), the National Intervener and Advocate Association, and the Lackawanna Blind Association.

“The Deafblind DATA Act represents a significant step toward increasing awareness around individuals who are deafblind and ensuring their needs and priorities are addressed at the federal level,” said Dr. Susan Ruzenski, CEO of Hellen Keller Services.  “The Helen Keller National Center commends the work of Congressman Cartwright, and the many supporters of this bill, in their advocacy for the deafblind community. The Helen Keller National Center is committed to empowering deafblind individuals of all ages and backgrounds and believes this bill will help further this cause.”

“As we, the National Family Association for DeafBlind, advocate for individuals who are deafblind of all ages, we are so excited to have a bill that will provide an accurate count of individuals who are deafblind,” said Patti McGowan, NFADB President, and Jacqueline Izaguirre, NFADB Policy, Information and Education Committee Chair. “With an accurate count of the deafblind population, policymakers will be aware of individuals who are deafblind when developing adult services. Deafblindness, the rarest of low-incidence disabilities, brings unique and individualized needs that deserve to be counted!”

In the U.S. House of Representatives, this legislation is co-sponsored by U.S. Reps. Alma Adams (D-NC-12), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY-16), Jasmine Crockett (D-TX-30), Don Davis (D-NC-01), Dan Goldman (D-NY-10), Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ-07), Josh Harder (D-CA-09), Jonathan Jackson (D-IL-01), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX-18), Henry “Hank” Johnson (D-GA-04), Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL-08), Mike Lawler (R-NY-17), Kevin Mullin (D-CA-15), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC-AL), Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14), Mary Sattler Peltola (D-AK-AL), Mark Takano (D-CA-39), Paul Tonko (D-NY-20), and Brandon Williams (R-NY-22).

A longtime advocate for the deafblind community, Rep. Cartwright reintroduced the Alice Cogswell and Anne Sullivan Macy Act in September 2023 to strengthen the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and ensure that visual and hearing-impaired students receive the best education possible.

CASEY UNVEILS NEW REPORT DETAILING THE HEARTBREAKING EFFECTS OF HOARDING DISORDER ON OLDER AMERICANS

AGING COMMITTEE MAJORITY STAFF REPORT DETAILS THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY HOARDING DISORDER, WHICH AFFECTS AS MANY AS 14 MILLION AMERICANS

IN REPORT, CASEY EXAMINES THE EFFECTS OF THE CONDITION AND ISSUES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HOW FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CAN HELP OLDER ADULTS AND THEIR COMMUNITIES

Senator Bob Casey (LuLac Archives)

U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, unveiled a new Aging Committee Majority Staff report shedding new light on the heartbreaking effect that hoarding disorder has on older Americans and their communities. The report, entitled “The Consequences of Clutter: How Hoarding Disorder Affects America’s Older Adults, First Responders, and Their Communities,” details the results of an Aging Committee investigation into hoarding disorder, a condition that leads people to accumulate more objects than their homes can accommodate and affects as many as 14 million people in the United States, disproportionately older adults. The investigation examined the factors that lead to hoarding disorder among older adults and the effects that it has on older adults and their families as well as local governments and first responders. In the report, Casey also issued a series of recommendations for how federal agencies can better respond to hoarding disorder and support affected older adults and their communities.

“Hoarding disorder is a heartbreaking condition that is posing challenges to older adults, their families, and their communities across the country,” Chairman Casey (D-PA). “My new report demonstrates the scope and severity of these challenges and offers a path forward for how we can help people, communities, and local governments contend with this condition. The federal government has an obligation to ensure that Americans can age with dignity, and this report makes clear that obligation must include doing more to address hoarding disorder.”

Hoarding disorder is a serious mental health condition that causes people to accumulate more objects than they need. The disorder impacts roughly two percent of the general population, while it affects about six percent of those over the age of 70. Chairman Casey’s report found that hoarding disorder has serious consequences for older adults and communities around the Nation. For older adults, those consequences include health and safety risks, social isolation, eviction, and homelessness. For communities, those consequences include public health concerns, increased risk of fire, and dangers to emergency responders.

Local communities throughout the United States are already working to address cases of hoarding disorder, including through the formation of hoarding task forces to coordinate response efforts. Unfortunately, the resources available for local responses often do not correspond with the level of challenge communities are facing. Chairman Casey’s report issued a series of recommendations for how the federal government can increase support to communities that are contending with hoarding disorder, including expanding access to treatment for the condition, providing local officials with more extensive guidance and training to support afflicted individuals, and expanding the scope of tracking and research about how hoarding disorder is affecting individuals and communities Nationwide.

AS PROPERTY TAX/RENT REBATE CHECKS GO OUT TODAY, GOVERNOR SHAPIRO AND SECRETARY BROWNE VISIT SENIOR CENTER IN LACKAWANNA COUNTY AND REMIND ELIGIBLE PENNSYLVANIANS TO APPLY

Governor Josh Shapiro and Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne visited the Robert Dougherty Dunmore High Rise in Lackawanna County to announce that rebates on property taxes and rent paid in 2023 as part of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program are starting to be distributed today, Monday, July 1, 2024, as required by law.

Governor Shapiro made a commitment to Pennsylvania seniors to ease the burden of rising costs - and the Governor delivered on that promise in August, signing into law a historic expansion of the PTRR program for the first time in nearly 20 years.

"I've heard from seniors about how they're struggling with rising costs - and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program is a lifeline for them and Pennsylvanians with disabilities. I made a promise to cut costs and deliver for Pennsylvanians - and in my first year in office, we worked together with bipartisan compromise to get this done," said Governor Josh Shapiro. "Over 442,000 rebates will begin to go out today - including to over 9,400 people here in Lackawanna County - but there are at least 125,000 more Pennsylvanians who are eligible but haven't applied. I want everyone who is eligible to get this money, so go to pa.gov/PTRRtoday to apply by December 31."

 List of Speakers:

Patrick Padula, Executive Director of the Lackawanna County Housing Authority

Mayor Max Conway

Governor Josh Shapiro

Joann Rinaldi, first-time PTRR recipient

Senator Marty Flynn

Congressman Matt Cartwright

Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne

It isn't hard to answer questions when they are provided prior to the interview.

If we are stuck with Trump again, the fault is squarely Joe Biden's.
There is no arguments of his accomplishments, the concern is his lack ofability going forward. We aren't looking for a leader for yesterday, we are looking for one for tomorrow. .
