GREAT DEMOCRATIC TURNOUT
LUZERNE COUNTY DEM CHAIR ON
POLITICAL VIOLENCE
With the threats of violence being investigated by the State Police against State Representative Jamie Walsh, Meghan Kocher wrote a letter with her thoughts.
The Luzerne County Democratic Committee denounces all political violence and threats against candidates, elected officials, public servants, and volunteers, as well as the use of AI to create misleading campaign ads and information. Regardless of political affiliation, we are all members of our Luzerne County community, and we must advocate for the protection of all our neighbors.
We understand this issue firsthand. Last fall, a gun was pointed at peaceful No Kings demonstrators in our community. Just weeks ago, a Republican State Representative used a homophobic slur at Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta at a Harrisburg bar. A few weeks earlier, a local Republican candidate used a homophobic slur against two gay members of our committee. We say this because we understand the fear and hurt that people can feel when they are targeted, and it is unacceptable.
We condemn these hateful attacks and all others, including those recently made against Republican elected officials, and we expect the same from leadership across the political spectrum. We condemn political violence in every form, from every side. We also condemn the erosion of political decorum at the highest level, including the President’s recent remarks joking that Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego.
I hate to say that we have seen the absolute worst of politics firsthand, in Luzerne County and in our highest elected offices. The people of Luzerne County deserve so much more. The Luzerne County Democratic Committee demands better of everyone, including our elected leaders, and we hold our own members to that same standard. We do not know who the person responsible for any recent threats made is, and we cannot control others’ speech, and all we can do is model better politics. We intend to do exactly that.
Our hope is that our friends across the aisle will demand the same from their members, so that we can chart a more respectful, professional path forward and protect everyone’s right to take part in the political process, whether by running for office or protesting, safely and free from hate or violence.
Sincerely,
Megan Kocher

He is the ONLY ONE to blame.
FECKLESS FARMERS AND CONGRESS 25-27
I get a kick out of these Midwest framers who tell news reporters they are not happy with the country. They voted for Trump THREE times.
THREE
Now the farmers are getting screwed by Trump and the Congress ran wee wee hone like the three little pigs.
This is what happens when gullible people put their hand on the hot stove once, then refuse to believe they’d ever get burned again.
TRUMP PICKS RUSSIA OVER DEMOCRATIC UKRAINE
President Donald Trump is easing some of the economic pressure on Russia in hopes of bringing Vladimir Putin closer to a peace deal — a gamble that will test whether economic incentives can move Moscow where years of sanctions have not.
The administration's decision to end restrictions on Russian diesel has drawn opposition from Republicans on Capitol Hill and skepticism over whether the move will meaningfully lower prices for Americans.
When Trump signed the Executive order to lift sanction and turn his back on the Lindsay bill, that was as a sure sign that he was aligning himself with a killer and a dictator.
