WHY WE LOVE ED

Last night after the Eagles lost to the Saints, Governor Ed was on Comcast doing the game recap along with Michael Barkan, Vaughn Hebron and Ray Diddinger. After trying to explain a few failings of the team, the Guv congratulated the team on a great season. However, when the matter of another play came up that fell short, Rendell said in frustration, "Just run the God Damned ball, that's all they needed to do there!" Barkan was taken aback but then started to chuckle and said, "Well I'm sure worse language is being used tonight in Philadelphia".

KING DAY

While I feel the Martin Luther King holiday is a worthwhile endeavor, my personal feeling always has been that in addition to a King day, there should be recognition of all Civil Rights martyrs on this day. I was glad to see that at the proposed King memorial in Washington, D.C., there will be such recognition for those heroes. To commemorate Martin Luther King day, here are a few quotes from some of his speeches:
