COUNCIL FORUM SET TODAY
After months of planning, the LuLac Political Letter's Wilkes Barre City Council Forum takes place today at Genetti's Hotel in downtown. Sue Henry of WILK News Radio will moderate the debate. More than 20 candidates running for the 5 Council seats are expected to attend. Starting time is at 430PM.
FORUM RULES
1. Each candidate will be given 5 minutes to tell the people what their plans are for city government. Candidates will be seated according to district at a designated table bearing the District they are running in.
2. By lottery, we’ll decide which district table will go first. Candidates from each district will then give their presentations. By lottery, we will then choose the first speaker from each district table, the lowest number, 1, will go first and the rest of the candidates will follow in ascending order.
3. After all the candidates have presented their views, questions will be taken from the audience. Because of time constraints, each audience member will be limited to one question. The audience member will ask the question instead of writing it out, face to face citizen participation is preferred. An answer to a particular question by a candidate will be limited to two minutes.
4. All candidates and audience members shall show respect for the diversity of opinions and the manner in which each candidate, incumbent or otherwise is presenting.
5. There will no closing statements.
