HIKERS IN IRAN

There has been great speculation about the fate of those two Americans who traveled to Iran and were arrested for hiking. Many in the U.S. are following their fate. There are many who want to see the young men home safe and sound. There are others wondering why they were there in the first place. Today on Wilkes Barre Free Speech I came across this posting which was brutal but I confess made sense.
I know this has nothing to do with our city, but i really have to make a statement about the American hiker's caught in Iran. First off, they had no business being in Iran. especially knowing the relations between both nations. If the Iranian Government feels they should receive a stiff sentence for doing so, then so be it, And America's diplomats should have no say over the matter. Isn't there enough soil in America?? Or nation's that are allies of America to hike on?? The mentality of Americans is we can do whatever we want and not suffer any consequences for doing so. And that also applies for America's Government in invading nations and trying to inflict her beliefs into other cultures. Americas whole mentality better change.

I've been thinking exactly that! Dont go there or there will be trouble! Dont even go close to the border. Stay Away!
There are plenty of places to hike
and enjoy. Pick one!
I too hope they get out.
I also agree with the remarks regarding the American Attitude which is most often arrogant.
I dont like it, but its true.

Hard to argue with that logic but it is a bit cruel to say to hell with two simpletons. Regardless of how friendly we are or are not, it is the duty of our government to protect even the lamebrains that do stupid things. How would we react to two Iranians who came here illegally? What ever happened to tit for tat?

Have to agree; in the words of the late great Jake "The SNake" Roberts, 'If you're gonna play with snakes, sooner or later you're gonna get bitten.'
Reminds me of the nitwits that go to Mexico and wander off into the non resort areas.
People tend to do dumb things.
Just like the animal trainers who wonder why a lion ate them.
Hey pal, it's a wild animal, that's what they do.
YOu can dress a lion up in a top hat and tuxedo, but he still gets hungry!

My God that poster sounds like the professor guy. Anyway, its hard to find fault with the premise or the conclusion. Bet those hikers were raised by helicopter parents.
