I predict that the Luzerne County system will revert back to what it was in two to four election cycles as voters see that this 11 person board and a manager is no better and most likely even worse that what we had and what could have been fixed at the ballot box.
SAndra Bernard will come to Wilkes Barre to endose a candidate running for a second term on Luzerne County Council in '13.
Yonk will meet up with her. Joe Valenti will tape it.
Scandal ensues.
Yonk and Valenti go national.
Hillary and Biden switch jobs. Obama loses in a sqeaker setting up Hil for 2016.
President Elect Ron Paul visits Wilkes Barre. Mayor Bill Barrett presents him with a steaming hot bowl of Abe's Hot Dog chili. The Maypor trips and the hot chili scalds the new President elect. Incoming Vice President Donald Trump storms the White House with former Apprentice contestents. Gary Bussey holds the Obamas hostage and allows TRump to declare maritial law. The stalemate goes on until the new kid fronm North Korea is contacted to provide a reasonable settlement.
Kim Jong Il's son, Larry, will mistakenly push the wrong button and ends up nukeing North Korea instead of Pittston. While his original plan was to make all of Pittston a parking lot, not just St. John's church, his plan goes awry and all of North Korea becomes leveled and new Catholic churches are built from coast to coast.
Pribul will end up being the full time permanent county manager.
Obama will be the president elct in November.
Mike Carroll will have opposition.
The truth will come out as to how bad the former (many) has run the county into the fiscal ground.
People will not wait beyond 2012 to begin discussing dumping this Council and County Charter in favor of something more workable and responsive to the taxpayers.
Obama RE-Elected.
Republicans take Senate
Republicans lose House
Major fight over US Supreme Court appointment following Ruth Ginsburg retirement announcement.
Obama (like Reagan a generation ago) sends two unsuccessful nominees to the Senate--finally settle with MCConnell by appointing Alberto Gonzalez.
Republicans win/control 5 of 6 state house seats located in Luzerne County (not included is 118th).
The democratic party of Luzerne County realizes that it can no longer be complacent as more and more republicans are winning. The Party tries to motivate its base, which proves unsuccessul and many luzerne county democrats realize the national democratic party, as well as the younger democrats in luzerne county are not conservative democrats, but liberals.
Obama Re-elected, probably 55%-45%. Loses VA, NC, Keeps PA and FL by a squeaker.
Bob Casey wins.
Hillary and Biden switch jobs, ensuring a Democratic victory, and President-Elect Hillary Clinton in 2016, to stop the Romney/Christie ticket and shame all future Christie runs for office.
Luzerne County Council starts with high hopes, ends with discontent and bickering. Urbans continue to power play. Candidates already start buzzing about 2013.
More younger Republicans and Democrats run and get elected to party positions, the old guard starts to fade out, due to age and incompetency. Some get elected to public positions.
Salavantis botches the Selenski case. People regret voting for her.
Scranton and Lackawanna County politics continue their fade into obscurity.
Occupy Wall Street sees a resurgance in the summer, due to increased passions from the presidential race. More left-leaning judges and U.S. Attorneys start to consider pressing charges against corporate CEOs and Wall St. bankers and financiers. AG Holder gives them a nod and prosecutes.
The Tea Party starts to make its voice loud again after Iowa and New Hampshire, but it quickly decrescendos, having lost most of its steam in 2011.
Boehner either loses the House by a small margin or keeps it by a small margin. The Democrats keep the Senate, but by one or two seats. In either case, Boehner is not kept as Speaker, and Cantor's or Ryan's stars rise quickly within the GOP caucus. Harry Reid steps down as Majority Leader in the Senate, passing the keys to Chuck Schumer.
Kirsten Gillibrand and Rand Paul become the Senate stars of their respective parties.
