WRITE ON WEDNESDAY

VOTE-DESPITE THE OBSTACLES

There might be some confusion about the Voter ID law passed through the Pa. GOP dominated House and Senate. A local resident made a plea to area voters to pay attention and dot all the I’s and cross all the T's.
Don't let selfish politicians take away your right to vote
Editor: I am writing this letter to let the people of our country know what these Republican governors are trying to do to prevent our citizens from using the right to vote. They are trying to get our government of the United States to be represented by the Tea Party and the Republicans and to hell with the Democrats. The Democrats are the only political party that's fighting for our citizens. Just tell me one thing that the Republicans and Tea Party did for you since President Barack Obama was elected. I also know for eight years under George W. Bush the Republicans in the House and Senate didn't do anything for our American citizens. The Tea Party wasn't even around at that time. Please don't let these people use the scare tactics that they used during the Bush administration. People, we have the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights to protect us. We all have the right to vote in our country as long as you are an American citizen. My husband's union book called "Solidarity" has an article about voting. You can protect yourself from voter suppression laws by doing these things: 1. Find out what the law in your state is and make sure you have everything you need to vote in November. Plan ahead, as it can take some time to get the underlying documents needed. 2. Two or three months before election day, check your registration status with your local election office to make sure your address is up to date. If not, complete the necessary forms. 3. Write letters to the editors of your local newspapers. Debunk the myth of voter fraud. 4. Join the advancement projects email list to stay up to date on the fight to preserve our democracy. People, the people who are trying to suppress our voting rights are the Republicans and the Tea Party. Please don't let them get away with it. They are doing their very best to overturn our country and our rights to make a dictatorship out of our country and torture the American people. The rich have a lot to do with this. Don't let them get away with it. Our forefathers fought wars just so we can have freedom and rights. These two parties are trying to ruin us, along with the rich people. Ruining us too. I myself believe that we can have a much better country if we had people in the House and Senate in Washington who knew how to work together and also for the American people who elect them. The way it is now, they are only looking out for their own interest and not working for our citizens and country. They also look to the rich for their campaign contributions. The Republicans and the Tea Party are the ones who don't know what the word compromise means. So please, people, never give up any of our rights. God bless America and all our citizens.

Voter ID letter writer. Do you have a up to date drivers license? Probably
99% of PA has one. If you don't, go get one. When I was unemployed, the bank made a copy of my license every time with the PA card. When I found another job, my new employer made a copy of my drivers license and did a background check. When my mom couldn't drive anymore, she had a PA ID card just for identify only. That card was issued in the
60's. She knew enough in 1960 to have an ID. If 99% of PA has the right ID, whats your problem?

There can be no compromise on core principals Mr. Yonki.

It is apparent that the good people of Wisconsin stepped up.

Illegal aliens are NOT CITIZENS and if you are a citizen in good standing (felony free) you have nothing to worry about.

Why doesn't anyone care about having to produce ID to buy beer but get bent out of shape of something FAR more important: voting.
