The LuLac Edition #2896, May 7th, 2015
If you are a football fan and a woman, I think the NFL showed great disrespect for the gender by celebrating Jameis Winston the Quarterback from Florida State. Winston even threw his success and his past problems in the League’s face by posting a picture of his new girl friend posing with crab claws. Items he stole from a Supermarket.
But as they say in the infomercials, wait..there’s more. Winston also skated on a rape charge even though the victim did everything right, going to the hospital, getting a rape kit and offering to testify. But a big bellied sheriff who loves feetsball as well as the dysfunctional criminal justice system in Florida took that off the table.
So Winston is now in the NFL as the number one pick. The NFL doesn’t care if you allegedly rape a woman and get away with it. All they care about is how far you throw a ball.
But Mitch Albom from The Detroit Free Press had a very good point last week on ESPN. He said that in the highlight films college quarterbacks throw passes to receivers who are ten yards ahead of the defenders in College Football. Let’s hope Winston’s receivers get clocked and drop every pass this sorry thug (oh I’m sorry am I being racist here??) throws.
Thugs steal, thugs rape. Normally they go to jail. But if you play for a football factory, you go to the NFL.
“I wanted to explain the mobile food vending trucks. I'm not against properly maintained trucks.
The city has many trucks that are stationary and do not run. They are sitting on cinder blocks in parking lots. They have extension cords running from inside other buildings. No water or proper drainage. There are pictures of one emptying grease into the street. We have no regulations now that require a license or inspection. I just wanted to regulate the hours of operation ( some are open till 4am with music playing) and amount of time that one can park in front of another business. Also, they want to be exempt from mercantile tax and city business license. “
This is a little late but I have a few thoughts on Bruce Jenner and his disclosure that he’d like to drastically change his lifestyle, hell his very being. Jenner is at a crossroads that he has chosen to make public. It seems like the people who used to poke fun at his appearance are now coming to his aide in this endeavor.
I really had no opinion on this until I read the letters of support from his ex wife and former colleagues. They were all supportive. What put me over the age though (and there wasn’t much of a push because I’m a live and let live type of guy) was the fact that none of the Kardashians lifted a finger of support. That tells you everything you need to know about them, their sense of loyalty and what Mr. Jenner had to endure with them.
So here's a joke for you. What’s the difference between trailer trash and the Kardashian’s?
The trailer.
Congressman Lou Barletta. (Photo: LuLac archives).
The language, inserted during the Armed Services Committee’s review of the bill, urges the Secretary of Defense to declare that illegal immigrants benefiting from President Obama’s unlawful Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program be eligible to enlist in the U.S. military. DACA abuses the practice of prosecutorial discretion by halting the deportation of illegal immigrants and granting them work permits if they claim to have arrived in the U.S. before age 16 and have been present for five years, among other criteria. Barletta is also a cosponsor of an amendment to strike this provision.
Barletta issued the following statement:
“I was disappointed to learn that some of my colleagues thought it appropriate to use the NDAA, which authorizes the funding for our nation’s military, to encourage the enlistment of certain illegal immigrants into the Armed Services. These kind of provisions have no place in legislation aimed at protecting our national security, especially at a time when we face the growing threat of violent Islamic extremism.
“The House has already made clear its position on a number of occasions that DACA is unlawful and should be defunded. Tactics to validate this program through a must-pass bill to help our dedicated men and women in uniform are shameful and will not be tolerated. I will continue to fight to get this provision removed, and cannot lend my support to the NDAA until it is.”

Couple of things.
On Winston, he was never charged, while I agree with you the allegation is horrific, he wasn't charged, and this has gone through multiple attempts to get him charged. A civil case, in which the burden of proof is less, is also on the horizon. We all deserve the presumption of innocent until proven guilty.
As far as the crab legs goes, it was later discovered that they were given to him. and it was a regular occurrence. It's not uncommon for college athletes to be given freebies.
Not sure where you've gotten your info on Bruce Jenner.
He has said he's not sure if he will go through with the surgery, and the Kardashians have been very supportive. His older kids have said the support is fake, but the Kardashians have been vocal in their support.

IN RESPONSE
I've not seen that but I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.
