WARM @ 75
This month WARM Radio celebrates 75 years on the year. Before it was CBS Sports Radio, (corrected at 1030pm) before it was True Oldies, before it was NewsTalk Radio, The Station of the Stars and The Mighty 590, WARM was a station that went on the air in 1940.
We recently updated some 590 Mighty Memories on the 590 Forever blogsite. Some of the early item you see from early newspapers come from our good friend Joe Butash. Also with the help of my sister we are now going through the Dewitt Street archives and have some more WARM news items.

CARTWRIGHT BACKS THE FRACK PACK

Here’s a message from Congressman Matt Cartwright: Fracking has boomed over the last 10 years – but our environmental regulations haven’t kept up. They’re riddled with loopholes and exemptions that allow oil and gas companies to put our environment at risk and contribute to climate change.
That’s why I’ve joined with my colleagues to introduce the Frack Pack: a collection of bills that close the loopholes; protect our water, air, and public health; and fight back against climate change.
But gridlock slows down even the most commonsense measures in Congress.
We need to put the pressure on. Sign the petition to stand with me and tell Congress to pass the Frack Pack and address climate change!

We’ve seen the massive environmental impact of unregulated fracking, from methane leaks that contribute to global warming to groundwater contamination in places that don’t have the water to spare.
The Frack Pack bills would fix the loopholes and exemptions that let fracking operations pollute our air and water and threaten our public health. Good catch. Sorry, I love CBS Sports Radio but was thinking of a story on the WARM blog involving an old sales manager of mine who worked at ESPN Radio.

Ever notice the economy of NEPA when coal was cheap and necessary. Sure, we traded strippings and culm banks but what did we know or care at the time.
EPA can't document a thing wrong with fracking. Be reasonable with guidelines and taxes. Make sure the working citizens see some benefit from the activity, like encouraging new business startups and hiring.
Frack away PA!
