THE TRAIN STATION FIASCO CONTINUES
The remnants of the Train Station. (Photo: Mark Moran, Citizen's Voice).
The train Station saga goes on. Once a meeting place for tourists and restored rooms that were in fact train cars, the property is back in the news. This time there is an announcement that Luzerne County is going to get a buyer for 1.2 million dollars. Former Commissioners bought it from Thom Greco for 5.8 million dollars. Greco is still laughing his way to the bank on that one. So now there are buyers but they want a confidentiality agreement. Former Courtdale official and now Community Development Director Andy Reilly told the Citizen’s Voice that Market Square Properties Development LLC want to put office space and retail stores there. Uh, fix the damn road first. Okay, all well and good but just who the hell are they? Names please. And one more thing too. When this new company decides to fix this up, let them use their own money. Not tax payer or grant money. And if they want a loan……..ask Thom Greco.
IT’S AN A BOMB FROM A ROD
How about Alex Rodriquez getting his 3,000 hit and hitting a Home Run. My Yankee friends are going crazy. They are schizophrenic in rooting for this guy during this season. But you have to hand it to him, he he has been doing well this year after a one year suspension. When you think about it, A Rod is kind of like the Nixon of baseball. During the 1972 election he (Nixon) didn’t need to break into the Watergate to get any dirt. He didn’t need it. Turns out A Rod had pure talent and didn’t even need the boost. Now he is in spitting distance of Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. But as well as know, A Rod’s accomplishments will always be in question. That’s certainly something baseball fans will argue about for years. But deep down everyone knows, including A Rod, that he didn’t need to do it.

Of course A Rod needed to do it. What makes you think he isn't now?
Do you also think professional wrestling is real?
