The nonbinding motion, which came as the Senate voted to reconcile its version of the annual defense policy bill with that of the House, expresses the Senate’s support for NATO and calls on negotiators to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to it.
NATO was formed after World War II to act as a block of nations that sent a message to the Soviet Union that Eureope along with the United States would stand together against attack. The alliance is based on the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949. NATO constitutes a system of collective defense whereby its independent member states agree to mutual defenses in response to an attack by any external party.
The Senate seems to believe that those defenses are part of what we have always believed. The President does not kissing the ass of Vladmir Putin. By the way, the lie Trump tells about military spending is just that. The combined military spending of all NATO members constitutes over 70% of the global total.
But the old white men whose grandfathers and in some cases grandmothers fought in Europe seem to side with a guy who really thinks we are getting screwed by NATO. Well he has screwed so many people in every manner shape and form, it is easy to see why his feeble mind can’t grasp the truth.
Trump ended the summit in his own little reality world, saying it was a huge success and that it was because of his pressure that NATO nations were going to increase defense spending. Well the commitment to do so was made BEFORE he even took office (by (2024) and Trump's claim that payments would be accelerated because of him was debunked by the President of France. Meanwhile, Trump signed a communique saying the annexation of Crimea was not a good thing along with the other NATO members. It is diplomacy by confusion and seat of the pants planning that is just not good for America and the world. Leaders will ask, "When and what can we believe?"
I'm sure NATO leaders had in their minds an announcement over a loud speaker that said, "The bull in the China Shop has left the building!"
This week, Antoinette Kraus, the director of the Pennsylvania Health Access Network (PHAN) released the following statement in response to the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court by President Trump:
“President Trump's nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, an extremist justice with a long record of attacking the Affordable Care Act, puts the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid at great risk. As a result of the Affordable Care Act, over 700,000 Pennsylvanians have The Etch A Sketch was first manufactured. With the Supreme Court poised to consider the constitutionality of pre-existing condition protections, the Affordable Care Act as a whole, and harmful work requirements for families and individuals who rely on Medicaid, this nomination puts the health of millions of Pennsylvanians on the line.

Bob voted against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) in the Finance Committee and agreed with pulling the United States out of the agreement because it put Pennsylvania workers at a disadvantage. He supports renegotiating NAFTA to create a level playing field for American workers.
During his time in the Senate, Bob has:
• Consistently fought against unfair trade deals that hurt Pennsylvania workers and has opposed every single one that has come up for a Senate vote.
• Fought Republican plans to give tax breaks to corporations that outsource American jobs as part of the 2017 tax bill.
• Pressed the Obama and Trump administrations for failing to address China’s unfair trade practices and was an original cosponsor of a bill to label China as a currency manipulator, which he helped pass in the Senate.
• Called on the Department of Defense to use American steel in armored vehicle production.
• Sponsored legislation to provide tax relief and job training to workers whose previous employers sent jobs overseas. (LuLac, Casey website)
QUESTION: "And if you are elected governor are you going to turn around and treat the rest of the people this way and be an obstructionist whenever you are the governor of Pennsylvania?"
SCOTT WAGNER: "Thank you for the question, and I would like to respond."
QUESTION: "Let’s be honest about this."
SCOTT WAGNER: "Oh, I am going to be real honest. When I went to Harrisburg I went for a couple of reasons. And in 2015 I was appointed to the Senate Appropriations Committee, Transportation, Labor and Industry and I chaired Urban Affairs and Housing. I am a business guy, and there is a mistake out there and a myth that I am an obstructionist. If I as a senator do not have the right to question the waste of 300 million dollars over a five year period, and I ran campaign and I sit through 60-80 hours of appropriations hearings, I am not an idiot, I focus on the financials. We had a discussion in the appropriations hearing room, and it is all televised, and someone made a comment, now wait a minute, this funding was supposed to sunset and we were going to vote to give Labor and Industry another 60 million dollars. And so, the discussion started. And I hadn’t been in the Senate back then when all of this money had been appropriated, but over 300 million dollars, I am going to say it, was pissed away by Labor and Industry on a software system that doesn’t work and they still run on a cobalt system. I am sorry that your son got laid off. Governor Wolf actually had a plan in October, this went down in December, he had a plan, and we have documentation and I would be happy to show it to you, they had a plan to shut down several offices. They used this as a political event and what he did was he closed four offices in Republican districts. Governor Wolf is not a nice guy. I got elected to the Senate and by damn I am going to do my job and I am going to ask questions. There is so much money wasted in Harrisburg. He doesn’t have a problem giving 30 million dollars here and 30 million dollars there for new bike trails and new walking paths in Philadelphia, I’m sorry. So, I am getting little passionate. So if I am seen as an obstructionist because I ask questions, I am going to ask questions, because the people of Pennsylvania deserve better." (Wagner campaign)

How could anyone have seen that the Great North Korean Breakthrough of 2018 would fall apart so quickly? You'd think than the NKs at least would've given Popular Voter Loser Trump the chance to campaign a bit more for his Nobel Peace Prize. Bad! Sad
