13 QUESTIONS
1. Rush Limbaugh has what appears to be a terminal disease who do you think will replace him?
C’mon man. He’s still kicking. I wish him the best in this difficult time. But to answer your question I always thought if he left, like Paul Harvey there would be no replacing him. I think the show and it’s mission would be so drastically changed without him that it’s power of personality would just dim and then disappear.
2. Ready for a Covid Christmas?
You bet. I’m grateful for any kind of Christmas.
3. Are you as a rabid Biden supporter happy with his picks to run the government?
Absolutely! It is diverse, humble, intelligent and ready to fix what their predecessors either ignored or didn’t know.
4. Do you think Trump supporters have blood on their hands for the CoVid deaths caused by Trump’s ignorant incompetence?
Wow. Tough one. I think Trump has blood on his hands and definitely caused more deaths by his casual response early on with this thing. The sheer selfishness of worrying about his election by downplaying the serious nature points to that fact alone. Every illness is an inconvenience. But when it becomes life threatening it takes on a new meaning that should be bigger than just us. So yes, I think his lack of response and the way he cheered his followers on puts blood on his hand.
As for his supporters, the answer sadly is yes. But to me, his incompetence is not the issue. What the issue is the cult of idolatry his non critical acolytes used as an excuse not to take this seriously puts blood on their hands. Some people used his lack of concern as an excuse to not give a shit. A worldwide pandemic interfered with their lives. Made it inconvenient. No high school football, no wing and beer night, no dart leagues, no happy hours, all of which are luxuries in life became more important than staying safe. Some of his supporters (not all mind you) certainly have blood on their hands because Trump and his “The hell with you, hooray for me” mantra made that so.
It’s funny. Republicans will tell you they are the party of independence and personal responsibility. Issues like health, money, addiction are all “personal decisions” or failings. Until it affects their own family. Then it becomes a different story.
So yes you are correct. The Trump incompetence was 50% but the other 50% is on those who used his lame logic as a crutch to spit in the eye of health care providers who risk their lives every day. It is also a slap in the face to those doing the right thing as well as those families who lost a loved one to this disease. That’s defiantly on them.
5. Do you think governor Wolf’s masks and mandates are draconian and unfair?
No. If anything they are not enough. I understand how small business is getting killed but even economists agree that one stimulus was not enough. The people who are complaining about him are cry babies and whiners who do not realize the real world consequences of this disease.
6. Do you personally know anyone who has died of the disease?
Yes 3. Ages 69, 45 and 39.
7. Were you surprised by the blow back the governor has been getting on his edicts?
Nope because for the most part the American people are entitled and spoiled in thinking they have a right to anything they please. If this were WWII , and there was a plea for unity we’d be toast.
8. Are you pleased with Senator Pat Toomey’s stance on the election outcome?
Sure and I’m very glad he come out. Granted the guy is retiring from public life but I believe in his heart of hearts he wasn’t a Trump maniac.
8 9. What are your thoughts on Melanie Trump’s question about a pension for former First Ladies?
First off I try not to think of her. Second it shows the total lack of institutional knowledge of the position she holds.Third does she speak to her husband after all he is the President, not that he would know and fourth again it shows the grifting nature of this administration asking what’s in it for me.
10. Liked your goodbye to Webster. Did you apply to replace him?
No. Love what I’m doing now. Plus anyone who replaces him will have a hard act to follow.
11. Did you really buy a red coat for winter?
Yep .I'm here with Special Assistant to the Mayor Tyler Ryan.
Fish as well as pierogies and sauerkraut and peas. Also, we did a variation of a pasta with butter dish using crab meat or lobster.
13. Do you wish everyone Merry Christmas like the right wingers want you to?
I’ve always wished everyone a merry Christmas. I didn’t need a right winger to tell me that.
13a. The Christmas song that gets you in the mood when you first hear it.
C’mon,
can’t pick just one. Here are my top three not necessarily in order.
