That's the number of search warrants the FBI has issued across the country while investigating
the January 6th Insurrection on our Capitol Building.
I wonder how many people in NEPA are looking over their shoulders right about now.
This probe isn't going away.
Just saying.
SENATOR RON JOHNSON’S RACISM
When someone begins a sentence and says, “Now I’m not a racist” or “I’m not a sexist” or “I know I’m going to get in trouble for this” you know that they are telegraphing something controversial.
Johnson on Monday denied statements he made last week about Black Lives Matter protesters were racist, claiming there was "nothing racial about my comments, nothing whatsoever."
The Wisconsin Republican came under fire over the weekend for saying he was not worried for his safety during the Jan. 6 Capitol attack because the rioters were largely "people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement," adding he would have been "concerned" if they had been Black Lives Matter or antifa protesters.
"This isn't about race, this is about riots," Johnson told reporters. "I have been attacked and criticized because I pushed back on the narrative that there were thousands of armed insurrectionists, and that's just a small part of the 74 million Americans that voted for President Trump that also need to be suspect of being potential domestic terrorists or also potentially armed insurrectionists. This is a false narrative, and so the few of us that push back on that we get mercilessly attacked."
Poor baby. Attacked and criticized you bet. Johnson has repeatedly shown us who he is. A racist, thug obstructionist millionaire who has done NOTHING for his state but just embarrass them.
He makes Joe McCarthy look like a saint.
GOV. WOLF: EFFECTIVE APRIL 4, MORE OPTIONS FOR RESTAURANTS AND OTHER BUSINESSES, MASS GATHERING MAXIMUMS INCREASE
Effective April 4, restaurants may resume bar service; alcohol service will be allowed without the purchase of food; the curfew for removing alcoholic drinks from tables will be lifted; and indoor dining capacity will be raised to 75 percent for those restaurants that are currently self-certified and those that undergo the self-certification process, which involves agreeing to strictly comply to all public health safety guidelines and orders, including the cleaning and mitigation protocols and other operational requirements contained in the Governor and Secretary of Health’s mitigation and enforcement orders issued on November 23, 2020, as amended. Those restaurants that do not self-certify may raise capacity to 50 percent. Outdoor dining, curbside pick-up and takeout are still encouraged.
Requirements such as mask-wearing, and social distancing, including 6 feet between diners, also still apply.
Capacity for other businesses also will be increased effective April 4, including moving personal services facilities, gyms and entertainment facilities (casinos, theatres, malls) to 75 percent occupancy.
The governor also announced revised maximum occupancy limits for indoor events to allow for 25% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size, and maximum occupancy limits for outdoor events to allow for 50% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size. Maximum occupancy is permitted only if attendees and workers are able to comply with the 6-foot physical distancing requirement.
“Pennsylvanians have stepped up and done their part of help curb the spread of COVID-19,” Gov. Wolf said. “Our case counts continue to go down, hospitalizations are declining, and the percent positivity rate gets lower every week – all very positive signs. The number of people getting vaccinated increases daily and we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. It’s time to allow our restaurants, bars and other service businesses to get back to more normal operations.”
While the lifting of these restrictions is good news, Gov. Wolf cautioned that mask-wearing, social distancing and business adherence to all safety orders are still imperative.
“We’ve come so far and now is not the time to stop the safety measures we have in place to protect ourselves, our families and our communities,” Gov. Wolf said. “Keep wearing a mask, social distancing, and, please, get vaccinated when it’s your turn.”
AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ESTIMATED TO BRING $270 MILLION TO NEPA TO HELP BRING MORE KIDS BACK SAFELY INTO CLASSROOMS, CARTWRIGHT SAY
U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright announced that the American Rescue Plan passed by Congress and signed by President Biden yesterday would make an estimated $270 million available to school districts in the counties that comprise the Eighth Congressional District to help safely reopen K-12 schools for in-person learning. The funds will be delivered to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which will make the final determination of amounts the schools will receive.
“This pandemic has disrupted Northeastern Pennsylvania students’ learning for too long. I pushed hard to include the school districts in the American Rescue Plan because they need the money. And homeowners are already stretched as far as they can go. Some of our local districts have been able to reopen, but it isn’t easy, and it isn’t cheap,” Rep. Cartwright said. “That’s why a core pillar of the American Rescue Plan is to provide the resources necessary to help more schools reopen safely, keep them open safely and make up for time lost out of the classroom.”
CASEY STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT BIDEN'S VISIT TO PENNSYLVANIA
U.S. Senator Bob Casey released a statement regarding President Biden’s visit to Pennsylvania:
“While Senate votes and committee hearings have kept me in Washington today, I’m pleased to welcome President Biden back to Pennsylvania as he visits Delaware County to highlight the transformative benefits of the American Rescue Plan. This historic legislation will put more money in the pockets of working families, help children return to school safely, ensure everyone who wants to be can be vaccinated, and help our Nation put this vicious virus behind us. Congress must work to ensure that the American Rescue Plan is fully implemented and supported by additional measures to help working families recover from the effects of this public health crisis and build back better than ever.”
