THE CAPITOL RIOT, 6 MONTHS ON: WHY WE REMEMBER THE TRUMP LED INSURRECTION

As Trump supporters arrived in Washington, DC, on January 6 to protest the certification of Joe Biden as the next president, 1,200 officers with the US Capitol Police stood ready. Perhaps in the hope of setting a peaceful tone, some officers weren't allowed to start their shifts wearing riot gear, which was instead kept in buses staged around the Capitol.

But as things turned violent that day, a major mistake became obvious, one of many to typify the police response. At least one platoon found its gear locked in a bus that couldn't be opened, forcing its members to return to the front line without shields. The Capitol riot prompted one of the worst days for US law-enforcement injuries since the 9/11 attacks, The New York Times reported in May. Seventy-three Capitol Police officers and 65 officers with the DC Metropolitan Police Department were injured. One died.

This was not a secret conspiracy or a sneak attack like 911 or Pearl Harbor. These so called Patriots stormed the Capitol after sharing their plans online. One post in a Facebook group with 150,000 followers described the protest to come as "operation occupy the Capitol." on January 5 that far-right factions, including QAnon and the Proud Boys, were joining forces. Members openly discussed violence ahead of the protest, it said.

In the aftermath, prosecutors have alleged a high degree of coordination among those they now seek to convict. On June 11, six men, four of whom are members of the Three Percenters, a self-styled militia, were indicted on suspicion of conspiring to obstruct the proceedings of January 6.

There were signs. Like these chilling messages.

"Surround every building with a tunnel entrance/exit. They better dig a tunnel all the way to China if they want to escape."

"Anyone going armed needs to be mentally prepared to draw down on LEOs [law enforcement officers]. Let them shoot first, but make sure they know what happens if they do."

Maps of the Capitol complex's tunnel system were also shared online, with discussion of how to use them to reach members of Congress.

Meanwhile, Washington hotels reported a spike in bookings, up 60% to 100% compared with the weekend of December 12, 2020, when there was a less remarkable pro-Trump rally in the capital.

Six months after, over 600 people are arrested. More to come. The House of Representatives started a select committee to investigate the violence. The REPUBLICAN party voted no to form a bi partisan commission. Most Republican House members voted NO to have that body, THEIR BODY that was attacked by THEIR OWN BASE. We can only believe that the Republican party of today sanctioned domestic terrorism by voting NO. The REPUBLICAN party now stands with the Insurrectionists that save for a few gallant police and the grace was God came close to overturning the will of the people. The defenders of this act should not go unnoticed. We need to see them coming.

It is astounding to me that this party of mini men and women, like Dan Meuser and Fred Keller locally try to brush it under the rug. 

Danny Boy had a video about the border wall worrying that immigrants would cause harm to his country. He ignores the fact that his Trumpanzees nearly killed him on January 6^th. Keller is no better.

This sick, putrid party screamed Benghazi and held 7 Congressional hearings on an incident on foreign soil on an American Embassy. Now they stay silent when their own workplace is stormed by crazed lunatics incited by a baby Huey, grievance enabled President. Every Republican should be held to account on this. Vote them out. You can’t shun them because they have no balls to meet the public.

On this 6 month anniversary of The Insurrection…….let January 6^th never be forgotten as the day the citizens of the United States, (not a foreign enemy, not a middle eastern fringe group, not an international criminal element, not a foreign adversary like Russia,) attempted to cannibalize their own nation.

Most Americans want answers, the Republicans cower like cowards and like the proverbial trained monkeys, want to hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil.

Maybe because when all is said and done, THEY ARE EVIL.

Evil because they defiled their oath to protect the Republic.

Evil because they chose short term political gain for a safe, cushy future.

Evil because they chose a false prophet of hate and racism to define THEM.

Incredibly STUPID because history never suffered fools gladly.
