LULAC ELECTION PREVIEW

MID TERM 2022

WHAT IS AT STAKE

DEMOCRACY

Right now there is  wave in this county. It is not a red or blue wave but a wave of selfish. I’m all for voting your own interests but this  mid term cycle has exhibited what this country has become in terms of its political discourse. There is an element of selfishness that I detect in the Trumpanzee wing of the party. The GOP has been held hostage by a philosophy of lies, outright deceit and ingratitude of this current administration. Here’s what we’re up against.

A Republican party that has refused to work with or give any Democrat support on an immigration policy that has been dormant for years.

A Republican party that sees color in its immigration for years now. All we hear about is the millions of undocumented storming the border from Mexico or Latin American countries. Nary a word about the northern immigrants overstaying their visas.

A Republican party that has NO SOLUTIONS. Crime is high in the red states but yet they focus in on big Democratically held cities. Why? Because minorities live in those cities. A majority of them also work and pay taxes. But if you believe this Republican lie, every murder is committed in a big city by a person of color or an undocumented immigrant. What has the GOP said they would do about crime? NOTHING.

A Republican party that has embraced the big lie. We have one in this state who wants to be Governor. But big man Mastriano, the Colonel if you will is running like a scared rabbit. He has not met with the public, he hasn’t spoken to the press, he has not had campaign events like a normal candidate essentially because he is NOT A NORMAL candidate. He wants to be anointed. If he thinks the Trumpanzees in the party are going to be enough to do it, to get elected. he has another thing coming.

A Republican party that latches on to a morsel of truth and then blows it up into a mountain. You are told Democrats were anti vaccine under Trump when the fact is Robert Kennedy Junior was the one person leading that charge. Democrats have some weirdos among their ranks but unlike the GOP of this century have not endorsed criminality.

A Republican party that blames inflation on the President. It is market forces that control prices. People forget that Trump pretty much let the economy slide with no major policy adjustments (except for tax breaks for the rich). The economy was good until it wasn’t.Biden took measures to recover it.

A Republican party that worries ore bout the price of pork than it does the freedoms we have in this country. Prices are high. I get that. Fritos that used to be 2 for $5.00 are now 2 for $9.00. I understand that but are you going to vote for a Republican who has no solution but bitches about high prices or are you going to set that aside and vote for someone who will defend a woman’s right to choose?Or for that matter, a right to free, unfettered elections.

A Republican party that will offer chaos but no real plan.

A Republican party that has consistently said NO to the middle class.

A Republican party  that has taken aid to the Ukraine off the table and has become the best friend of Putin.

A Republican party that will privatize social security and leave it to private investors to run.

A Republican party that has said the same old shit about Dems wanting to defund the police (THEY NEVER DID), say the Dems want various bathrooms for people of all persuasions (THEY HAVEN’T)  have said Democrats want to have abortion on demand (WE DON’T) have said Democrats are ruining the country with socialism (when in fact your average GOP voter has no clue about even living in a socialist country) and essentially blame everything Trump ignored and Biden fixed because it meets their short term political gain.

If you want gridlock, if you want punitive nonsense investigations that will cost millions and result in no crimes (like they did with Hillary) then vote for a Republican.  But don’t complain when your social security is  cut, when Medicaid is decimated and your life gets way worse than you’ll ever imagined.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

THE COUNTING OF RESULTS

There are mail in ballots that will not be counted until after the polls close. The Republican lead State Legislature has refused to do an earlier count.

If the complete results are not in by Wednesday morning, that doesn't mean there is voter fraud.

Please let the Election bureaus do their job without threats, accusations that are unfounded and illogical concussions.

And for Christ sake, don't listen to the liar pig former President or his Trumpanzees if they try to interfere in this election.

GOVERNOR’S RACE

Josh Shaprio

The former president tried to undermine our democracy and overturn our election dozens of times in court — but Josh Shapiro defended Pennsylvania voters, and won. He argued all the way up to the Supreme Court, ensuring all legal votes were counted and the result of our safe, secure election was certified.

Doug Mastriano

Has not met with the press or public, was at the Insurrection, perpetrated the Republican lie about the 2020 election, and has said gay marriage and women’s reproductive rights must be eliminated.

Matt Cartwright

Here’s  number to remember. $274, 632, 485 DOLLARS!

This is not a lottery amount or an Irish sweepstakes number .

This is the total amount of money that Congressman Matt Cartwright brought to our district. Even though in every campaign his seat has been targeted by the GOP and he has been savagely attacked with outright lies, he has worked across the aisle once the campaign is over.

No one will be a better representative for ALL the people.

So proud to support him again this year.

Don’t let his opponent take away his ability as a Chair of an Appropriations committee away from you and me. This opposing party will do nothing but do what they prove to do best:

take away from hard working people. Stick with your fighter!
