DEMOCRATIC DOINGS
Re organizational meeting Wednesday
DEMOCRACY IS NOT FOR SALE
Join us June 14th for Fern’s Campaign Kickoff.
We are working harder than ever just to fall further behind while political insiders and corporations cash in. Fern is building a campaign for those who feel priced out, overlooked, and exhausted watching our region handed over to the highest bidder.
This campaign is for working families, young voters, parents, retirees, and everyone who believes the future of Northeast Pennsylvania should be decided by the people who live here, not corporations, lobbyists, or political insiders.
Women from different levels of government, advocacy, and grassroots organizing are coming together to celebrate Fern and the growing fight for a stronger future across NEPA.
Keynote Speaker: PA Senator Katie Muth
Presented by: Luzerne County Councilwoman Denise Williams
Opening Remarks by: PA Stands Up Executive Director Carrie Santoro
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT
Mr. President,
I always admired you on the Apprentice but your presidential reality show is getting a little perplexing to me.
I’m a numbers guy. i eat 10 food items a day. At work I keep track on Excel spreadsheets of some of the stuff that I do. I could tell you the number of years a since a hit song came out, the number of cases (and you’ll love this Mr. President) of Diet Coke I have in my home and in my office at work) and the number of masses I have attended in my life.
I saw you on Meet the Press today with Kristen Welker. You kept on referencing that the people who did the attacks on the capital and who plead guilty or were arrested needed compensation. You kept on saying that a number of them committed suicide, a number of them had divorces a number of them lost their homes and a number of them had lives ruined by their actions on January 6 2021.
I’m not gonna get any of that information from your cronies Bresnahan and Meuser so as the numbers guy, I’m wondering if you could tell me how many people’s lives were ruined with suicide, divorce, poverty, and disattachment from family members.
I know you can’t get all of them and there might be a great temptation to lie to a lowly Democrat like me, but I’ll start with suicide. As a member of the zero tolerance suicide committee in Luzerne county I think my colleagues might be interested in the number of those people who stormed the capital on January 6. ( And don’t say tens of millions ) because our county population is give or take about 325,000 people.
I anticipate receiving your reply soon!
