BOBBY'S SEAT
For years after his death, the New York Senate seat occupied by Daniel Patrick Monynahan was dubbed the "Bobby Kennedy" seat. Kennedy who was assassinated in 1968 was succeeded by Liberal GOP Congressman Charles Goodell. (His son is Roger Goodell, the new NFL Commissioner.) Goodell was appointed by Governor Nelson Rockefeller and lost in a three way race featuring Independent James Buckley and Democrat Richard Ottinger. After Buckley served one term in the Senate, he was defeated by Moynihan who held the seat until the year 2000. He retired that year and First Lady Hillary Clinton won the seat, then was re-elected in 2006. Senator Clinton's new job as Secretary of State opens up the seat and the Governor of New York will have to appoint a successor. I suggest Bobby Kennedy, Junior. He has been a passionate advocate of the environment and would be a very good candidate in a general election. Plus it would add some continuity to a storied Senate seat in the Empire State. But that's not up to me, it's up to Governor Patterson. We shall see in the coming days the names bandied about.

Bobby was a carpetbagger when he grabbed that seat while living in a New York Hotel. Hillary was the same so why not give the Bobby/Hillary seat to Bill?
None of them knew enough about New York State to find their way around
outside of the City.
the bobby kennedy seat?? are you f---ing kidding me. how the hell you people turn a silver spooned spoiled brat into a hero is just silly. he wasn't a senator that long, not even 1 full f----ing term! he was only ag because his brother was pres. if he or jfk did not get assassinated they would have gone down in history as complete failures.

It's the 60s STUPID!!!! Yonki can't let go. Pretty soon we'll see a musical tribute to the 7th grade girlfriend!!! Bobby is frozen in time and the leeeeberallls like the Yonk want that myth perpetuated. 3 more weeks then the 40th anniversary of 1968 is mercifully over. Thank the Lord for small favors.
