SNAPPLE "REAL FACT" #797, in Youngstown, Ohio it is against the law to run out of gas.

PHOTO INDEX: THE LATE PETER CHOKOLA AND MICHELLE MALKIN.

SEND YOUR RESUME!!

So I’m watching “This Week” on ABC this afternoon. (I tape the morning shows and then play them back when I have some down time). Anyway, I see this creature on the show, Michelle Malkin who I’m told is a syndicated columnist and author of a book. She begins to pontificate about the unemployed and how a former Clinton economic adviser said that “extending unemployment benefits does not decrease joblessness. Malkin said extending the benefits for the jobless is not good because “people will delay getting jobs until the benefits run out”. Now two points here, the noted author did not mention the name of the Clinton adviser and she has a woeful understanding of what people who have no job in America are going through. So to give her an insight into that area of America she knows nothing about, I’d urge anyone reading this who is unemployed, knows someone who is unemployed or is under-employed and can’t find full time work to e mail their resume to Michelle Malkin. Her e mail is writemalkin@gmail.com. Or address the resume to:
Michelle Malkin,
Creators Syndicate,
5777 W. Century Blvd., Suite 700,
Los Angeles, CA 90045
Since she thinks that the unemployed wait until the last possible moment until their benefits run out to apply for a job, send her a resume to let her know you, or the people in your life are looking for work. NOW! Then the next time this “twinkie” starts running her mouth, at least she’ll have a frame of reference.

ONCE BITTEN-TWICE EATEN!!

There was a federal case in Scranton last week and the Wyoming Area School Board and its superintendent definitely came up short. Pittston Politics reports:
When Wyoming Area Superintendent Ray Bernardi said the lawsuit Jim Zarra, PJ Pribula and Robert Micheletti was “frivolous and would be disposed of quickly,” little did he know he be on the hook for $50 grand personally. This past week a federal judge and jury heard five days of testimony. They heard both sides and finally once and for all we know who was at fault. A total award of half a million a federal jury said the plaintiffs were entitled to. While I don’t have the final breakdown, the jury awarded approximately $300,000 in compensatory damages and $200,000 in punitive.
So let me say this about the verdict. There should be a law that all school boards should be removed from the hiring and disciplinary process. Every where. And you only look no further than the Wyoming Area School Board. The Board was sued once before by one of the defendants in this new case. As a board member winning election in 2005, how could you not realize that you needed to tread lightly in personal issues regarding this individual? By treading lightly, I’m not saying let the employees get away with murder, all I’m saying is use some common sense and don’t go out of your way to strut your new found political power in a fit of pique or vindictiveness. In some cases, a few people might fold and quit going away quietly. In this case, some might quit and take you to court. Again! And you’ll lose. Again! The Wyoming Area School Board should realize by now that one election does not entitle them to disrupt any worker’s livelihood. In the old days, it happened all the time. Today, not so much. Take the school boards out of all human resources decisions. It will eliminate the temptation to hire their cronies and relatives plus the temptation to punish those who might work against them in an election. Like the big shots on Wall Street who proved themselves incapable of practicing any type of ethics, and needed correction, the Warrior School Board has proven it was devoid of common sense. The decision making should be taken out of their hands before they get sued again. And lose again.
Disclaimer: One of the people in the case, P.J. Pribula is my cousin. My only interactions in this matter have been through newspaper and radio reports of its progress. The opinions expressed here are my own and have not been discussed with any relative.

SCREWED AGAIN

How about that “Cash for Clunkers” program? You know the middle class got screwed on that deal again. Looking at the contract, the mileage you needed to have to qualify was in the teens. So those Americans who have been buying fuel efficient cars all along and doing the right thing, can’t qualify with their old cars. However, the people who bought big gas guzzling SUV, TUV and good old boy pickup trucks that get 9 miles to the gallon, get the $4500.00 rebate. And what about the poor? Has there been anything for them in terms of improving bus service and mass transit? Nope. I go back to my original plan, give every taxpaying American $200,000 to spend as they wish. This $4500.00 only rewards those who have been doing the wrong thing for so long. Yet these good old boys with the old pickup trucks in the front yards gathering rust will be the first to bitch about the C.H.I.P. program for kids or the W.I.C. program for the working poor.

A GREAT GUEST

When you have a weekly column, TV or Radio show, there will be down times. I know that’s hard to believe with all the corruption probes going on in LuLac land but earlier in my budding broadcast career, there were days when you had “nuthin”. You could always count on a few guests who were articulate and could provoke thought. One of those “go to guys for me, in the 70s was Peter Chokola. Chokola died the other day at the age of 78 and I had lost touch with him through the years. Prior to retiring, he was an owner of Chokola Beverages in Wilkes-Barre and was formerly employed with IBM and the federal government as an auditor and financial analyst. . In 1970, he was instrumental in pioneering the “Container Deposit Law” otherwise known as the Bottle Bill in 11 states in conjunction with the Sierra Club. That’s where my connection with him came in. Peter always was a willing guest for me on WVIA TV and FM as well as on WRKC FM promoting the bottle bill in the Commonwealth. It was an environmental cause he fought for and was very willing to talk about. And lucky for me he would do it on a moment’s notice. Our condolences to his family.

David...don't worry about the "middle class being screwed." We're fast on the way to not having one.

The $4,500 dollars came in handy for me. I have been driving a very old car and I now have a new one. I only make a little over minimum wage, so I'm not sure your point that it doesn't help the working poor. However, I would much rather have the 200,000, just think of all the lottery tickets, beer and smokes I could buy.

Two points: I hope others who are employed by school district and are getting abused by board members because they are friends with people who have the temerity to run against them sue too. That'll send them a message.
As far as Michelle Malkin, she is a low grade, bottom of the barrel Ann Coulter wanna be.

Media for Media's Sake

Who and what the hell is Michelle Maklin? Where did she come from?
Planet Coulter, perhaps? What do we have to do to send her back there?
Is Glenn Beck replacing a burned out Bill OReilly as a spokesperson for a warped agenda operating free of facts or any sense of decency and credibility?
Are Kevin Lynn and Steve Corbett both in the advanced stages of megalomania or do they have an influence on the way people of this valley see things?
At the same time I support all these folks right to say anything that can be supported by facts and to state their opinion. Although I do not listen anymore, I believe radio stations like WILK serve the community.

Of course Pribula is related to you. I saw the guy on TV holding a baby, with the American flag in the background and talking about his WWII veteran father. He hit all the points of a candidate. Sure you weren't staging that one Yonk?

I HAD MY FEET IN A NICE POOL WHILE ALL OF THAT TV WAS GOING DOWN. THAT WWII VET HAPPENS TO BE MY GODFATHER SO LAY OFF HIM. I DON'T THINK HE'S RUNNING FOR ANYTHING. THAT FLAG HAS BEEN ON THE HOUSE SINCE HE BOUGHT IT. AND IF I HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS CASE, GIVEN MY LUCK, HE'D BE OWING MONEY, NOT GETTING SOME. ANYTHING ELSE?
