The LuLac Edition #1690, July 25th, 2011

ON THE OFFENSIVE

Tonight President Obama outlined the reasons why the debt ceiling crisis goes on. From the East Room the President essentially called out The Tea Party caucus while giving credit to House Speaker John Boehner for trying to come to a compromise. The President gave a history of the saga. He also said that he will not agree to a temporary extension. Obama said that the GOP can’t hold the country hostage by going through another debt ceiling debate 6 months from now. Obama told the American people that it was unfair for middle class people to give up something while the rich and wealthy are asked to contribute nothing. Obama took his case directly to the people and asked Americans to take their opinions to their Congressmen. Obama said just because Americans voted for a divided government in 2010, it did not bargain for a dysfunctional government. Obama also said that the leaders we remember in history are those who put country above their own interests. Those who look to their own self interest are rarely remembered.
If you want this nonsense to stop, contact your Congressmen and tell them to stop walking in lockstep with people who want to destroy the middle class.
Speaker John Boehner came on next and went through the laundry list of the stimulus, health care and the fact that unemployment is so high. The Stimulus should have been bigger, the Health Care plan should have been a single payer plan and unemployment is so high because businesses, long used to tax breaks and the crushing of modern day workers have gotten along with less and want to keep any and all profits. Boehner did have a snappy green tie though.

INDULGENCE

Tonight the President talked about shared sacrifice. House Speaker John Boehner did not. Boehner said not one word about having the richest among us give their fair share. Look at what these celebrities spent on their birthday parties. Don’t you think they can afford to pay their fair share? Why ask a Senior Citizen of today or tomorrow to give up a dollar when these people could give up so much more and not miss it?
P Diddy celebrated his 40th birthday with swagger and style. The star paid over $3 million to host a huge fete for the most exclusive VIPs around. The party included ballet dancers for entertainment and thousands of flowers.
For Simon's Cowell's 50th birthday he hosted 400 of his best buddies and music companions to a $2.5 million dollar party to end all parties, complete with live big name entertainment.
Elton's John's 50th birthday party, in 1997, was so extravagant that his costume alone cost 73K pounds. Ten years later, for his 60th, he threw another huge bash that was over 1million pounds ($1.5 million USD)
Naomi Campbell's billionaire boyfriend paid $1.8 million for the former model to turn 40 in style. Campbell hasted her favorite friends in the south of France for her birthday.
Kim Kardashian's birthday was full of bling when the reality star was served a $1 million dollar cake. Kim didn't order the cake, it was a surprise from the nightclub where she had her party.
In 2002 socialite Paris Hilton had 5 parties for her 21st birthday. The parties took place at different locations around the world and cost $45K per guest.

Obama and Reed think their cute by bludding the Republicans. They agreed to huge cuts in everything the Republicans demanded including Social Security and Medicare. OK, what if the Republicans call them on their "all in?" We get screwed again. I supported Obama because I believed in the hope he promised, now I believe in NO hope! We should have discussed this at lunch. Between us, we could have come up with a much better surrender plan. I don't recall ever being so disgusted.

Just because someone who has a lot of money choses to spend it the way the see fit doesn't give you the right to confiscate it and redistribute it to the poor. All that money spent paid people who worked the parties and serviced the rich. I would love to see the rich just stop producing. Shutter their doors, take their wealth and go to Monaco. Let's see how long the free loaders would last without those who actually produce and create....
the goal of liberals is to keep people poor and needy, because the more people who rely on government will vote democrat. I had lunch with a friend of yours who said it best.... Look who benefits from those in poverty and look who benefits from those who are able to earn and care for themselves. Then vote accordingly; if you want to be taken care of my the government vote democrat, if you want the ability to care for yourself vote republican.
I for one am happy the republicans have grown a set. I wish the tea party was here to stifle George W. Bush's out of control spending.

If people were less jealous of those who have and focused on themselves they would be a lot less angry. Think about what you wrote, if you used similar analogies in crime and named a bunch of african american criminals you would be racist. As long as it is class racism it is okay to attack others.

Professor Milburn Cleaver, OPA has left a new comment on your post "The LuLac Edition #1690, July 25th, 2011":

Students, the old liberal adage of punishing those who earn a living and amass wealth in order to fill the coffers of the layabouts seems to remain alive and well in the Democratic party.
One need not be a mathematician (and honestly, NONE of you in this classroom are) to understand that the U.S. Treasury is empty and running on fumes. Cuts---deep cuts in spending is all that can remedy the situation. It will take a long time; a generation in fact, but the hour has finally arrived thanks to the brave tea party faction of the U.S. House of Representatives.
All children cry when they must take their "bad medicine"; but in the end, they are greatful simply because they are well again.
It is time for America to take her bad medicine. The day of the free ride is over. Many senior citizens will see cuts in their social security and medicare. Their sacrifice will not as the liberals will tell you, choosing between food and utilities, but simply choosing between lottery tickets and the Mohegan Sun slots.
If the nation goes into default, it will be even more needed bad medicine.
It is sometimes best to start from scratch and the U.S. could use a little bit of that old pioneer backbone that made this country great.
Liberalism has turned most of our population (you included, class) into a group of pathetic spineless jellyfish. Patriotism has gone the way of the Model-T and sacrifice, well, sacrifice is an outdated word.
When we go into default (as I hope we do) we will be given a wonderful opportunity to rise from the ashes with a government whose only responsibility to its citizenry is national defense, as the Constitution provided.
Students, be prepared, for you and I are about to embark on an historic crusade. ONe day you will thank Mr. Boehner and Mr. Cantor for their courageous acts.
Have I made my point????
Class Dismissed!!!!!!

Funny fact is that the rich pay more income taxes than all the other classes combined, yet you claim they aren't paying their fair share. What is fair, they pay for everything and the poor pay for nothing. O wait that is the way it is...... **** the poor, **** the older people. How many people on medicare are over utilizing the benefit because they didn't take care of their own health? How many smoked, drank, were gluttons who wouldn't know what a ****ing vegetable looks like?
It is time to have people care for themselves and let them start letting people keep what they earn. 80% of gov't spending is for entitlements. Get rid of welfare and medicare and social security, cut subsides to business, cut government giving money to any citizen or company and let businesses and people sink or swim on their own merit, those that can will thrive those that can't will sink and make way for those who can. You liberals love evolution, but you don't like it when we apply it..... I don't see why I, or anyone for that matter, should be asked to work for the benefit of others and conversely I don't expect anyone to work for my benefit.
Perhaps if fat, lazy, drunken people in this country would learn to care for themselves, we wouldn't have the problems we have and we would still be the United States of America not Amerika.

Did you see John Boehner’s speech last night? It was one distortion after another about the GOP’s plan and President Obama.
The takeaway is this: Boehner and the GOP will walk away from any plan that doesn’t cripple President Obama. They don’t care about the economy. They don’t care about your job. They don’t care about anything but taking over Congress and the White House.

Good to see the Old Professor back on the scene. I was concerned as he is apparently elderly and with all this heat and being as he is already full of hot air!
But he has reappeared and I'm glad.

Professor, there you go again rewriting History. The pioneers you write about were selfless men and women not selfish. History relates how they helped one another and relied on each other as they settled across our country. This is what helped make our country great! Not the fend for yourself and go to hell attitude that you in your great wisdom suggest. Also, if you truly read the Constitution or understood it you would not profess that the governments only responsibility to its citizens is national defense. Your lack of understanding of the Constitution is reflected again with the statement we must take our "bad medicine". Our nations founders wrote the Constitution specifically to protect us from the "bad medicine" you so cavalierly prescribe. As I read your posts, with all their historical errors and fabrications, I have come to the conclusion that you are not a Professor of History. Bad medicine as most know, does not heal or make the sick better, it only worsens the condition.I guess that eliminates you from being a Professor in any of the Sciences too. I agree,we must take our medicine, good medicine that is,but unlike you I would suggest that everyone takes the medicine. In your post you write "America must take her bad medicine". I read senior citizens and layabouts(whatever that means) must take your elixir for our country to be saved. Why are you not suggesting that the Exxon- Mobiles, the pharmaceutical companies, hedge fund managers, etc. of this country who are making record profits during this time of economic crisis also take you special elixir? ARE THEY NOT ALSO PART OF AMERICA? Shouldn't they be part of the cure? As always, your faithful student.

Sorry but I'm not a faithful student, I consider this self proclaimed professor to be little less but not much less than a bag full of horse shit. You other idiots make me laugh, you're so stupid that you think fighting for the wealthy will one day make you wealthy. Wish I could be there when you enter your golden years and find the gold is a bucket of piss. I also laugh at the jerk who swallows the line about the wealthy paying the majority of taxes, I guess goofus isn't aware that Exxon/Mobile, GE and other large corporations earned billions last year but didn't pay a dime in taxes but actually received a tax refund. Yep, you jerks sure know who to fight for. Idiots all!

4:33 AM. Looks like the "idiots" are keeping you up late or your one of the industrious folk who rise early enough to get the worm. I agree 100% with your assessment of the "idiots". Yep, they sure are and the professor, well, he has little else to do from his bar stool but babble on in an effort to get beyond his own personal failures.

What is so impressive about threatening to not pay your bills and ruin your credit? Ther appropriations process is the proper mechanism for considering spending cuts.
