STORMIN' NORMAN DEAD AT 78
The Huffinton Post reports this tonight. Retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, who topped an illustrious military career by commanding the U.S.-led international coalition that drove Saddam Hussein's forces out of Kuwait in 1991 but kept a low public profile in controversies over the second Gulf War against Iraq, died Thursday. He was 78. Schwarzkopf died in Tampa, Fla., where he had lived in retirement, according to a U.S. official, who was not authorized to release the information publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. A much-decorated combat soldier in Vietnam, Schwarzkopf was known popularly as "Stormin' Norman" for a notoriously explosive temper. He served in his last military assignment in Tampa as commander-in-chief of U.S. Central Command, the headquarters responsible for U.S. military and security concerns in nearly 20 countries from the eastern Mediterranean and Africa to Pakistan. 9:30PM.

If the House GOP does nothing and continues its defiance of a nation that made very clear where they stood on Election Day, you should know who to blame when you open up that first pay envelope. First, you’ll see less money in your paycheck. It will be then you’ll realize the enormity of the tax break you have been getting since 2009. The man who gave it to you was Barack Obama. The party was the Democratic House and Senate. The roughly 8 bucks a pay was designed to put money back in the economy. When you don’t see it and see an increase, it will be because of the House GOP. It will be Congressmen and women who have sabotaged their Speaker, John Boehner and made him a virtual eunuch when it comes to negotiating a deal with the President. There is blame and it should not be directed at the President. During the Election, the Republican party, with an election at stake, did not compromise its philosophy that rich Americans deserved tax relief. They took a political gamble that Americans might believe their dogma. Now, after the election, with more than politics at stake, with the country, the future economics of the nation, they continue to gamble. Not on an election, or policy but on the lives and economic well being of all Americans. You will be tempted to blame the President but don’t. He has already made compromises and has had the door slammed in his face. The disrespect and lack of cooperation is not only stunning, it borders on treason.

CARTWRIGHT GETS NOD
The House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee has announced the appointment of Congressman-elect Matt Cartwright to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. “I am honored to have been chosen by my colleagues to serve on this committee,” said Congressmen-elect Cartwright. “I look forward to having the opportunity to hold the Federal Government accountable to taxpayers, to fight on behalf of our Postal Service and to protect workers’ rights. When I considered where I could utilize my background to tackle government spending issues and difficult regulation that hinders job creation the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform was at the top of my list.” The Committee's government-wide oversight jurisdiction and expanded legislative authority make it one of the most influential and powerful committees in the House. Motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel attempted to jump 141 feet over the Caesars Palace Fountains on the Las Vegas Strip. Knievel crashed on landing and the accident was caught on film…….For those of a certain age, who can ever forget this. The Green Bay Packers become the first team in the modern era to win their third consecutive NFL Championship, 21-17 over the Dallas Cowboys in what became known as "The Ice Bowl"…in Pennsylvania, Western Pennsylvania Representative K. Leroy Irvis said he was thinking about running for Minority Leader in the next Legislative session. Irvis, a black representative said he wanted to make history by making the attempt…. A little more on that Ice Bowl. My family was driving home from Danville after visiting my sister who was at school. My uncle Paul, the late Paul “Philco” Yonki was driving a White Four door '60 Chevrolet with fins. The night was horrible for travel. We ran into a sleet storm that turned to snow. The back seat was occupied by my mom, my aunt Joan, my cousin Paula and my cousin Robert. In the front seat was my uncle Paul, the driver, my dad and me. As we carefully wound our way home, my cousin Robert piped up that the game was on the radio. My uncle gave me the job to locate the station that was broadcasting the game. The women in the back seat were less than thrilled but as we entered Shickshinny, the climactic play that changed the game was about to take place. The snow fell on ice slicked roads and my uncle navigated the car as best he could all the while getting more exited at the prospect of the ending. “Could Dallas hold on Dave?” he bellowed. To my cousin Robert, he yelled, “This is gonna be make or break, this might be history!” As Bart Starr made his way through Jerry Kramer’s block, a virtual whoop went up from my cousin, my uncle and me. (My dad was a Cardinals fan and was concentrating on the road most likely praying.) My Uncle maintained control of the vehicle but not his composure. “They will be talking about this for years Dave. Your team by golly did it and I guarantee you’ll remember that your Uncle Paul was driving on ice when it happened. Ice in Pennsylvania, ice in Wisconsin. Ahh, it’s winter time boys. Ya gotta love it’. In the back seat, I heard my Aunt Joan quietly say, “Oh God!” My mother was fingering Rosary beads and I can guarantee you not for Green Bay. We all got home safe but later that night, both my Uncle and Father were called out by the Lehigh Valley Railroad because of the weather. But my Uncle was correct. I will always remember where and who I was with during that historic NFL game.
And 45 years ago this week, the number 1 song in LuLac land and America was “Snoopy’s Christmas” by the Royal Guardsmen.

Dave, great Green Bay memory.
I admired General Schwarkopf. He was a true leader and along with Gen Colin Powell the last of the great Generals. The General was outspoken in his criticsm of Gen Westmoreland and Donald Rumsfeld. He knew what he was talking about.
Both were disasters in leadership!
He was not a fan of the Iraq War because he questioned the future of the country. Again he was right. I appreciate his honesty and his service to our country. Rest in peace, Sir.

The Republican Party deserves to fade into the dust bin of history. It is selfish, anti-American, cares nothing for the common man and woman, and serves only its rich masters. It has become the enemy of the people and politicians of that label at ALL levels of government should be turned out onto the streets where they belong. The party of hate is dying a slow death and it is taking America with it.

First of all, I wish to welcome you back from Christmas break. I hope you all are rested and ready to begin this new year which shall be full of academic challenges. However, judging from your appearance my hopes are ill fated. I myself enjoyed a wonderful holiday at the home of a friend in Palm Springs. The golf was relaxing, the filet mignon was cooked to perfection and there was some of the finest champagne on ice….who could ask for more??? I trust you enjoyed your holiday celebrations as well and that your supply of Miller High Life did not run out.

Students, after much pleading by his professor, Mr. Yonki has finally issued his final installment of reminiscence of that awful year of 1967!!! I have continually suggested various replacement years. It is his charge, however, to choose. Perhaps, 1958??? Regardless, whichever year he shall choose it has to be better than ’67, which we can finally forget. As this is the final class before the New Year’s holiday I would like to discuss what I believe to be goals for a more prosperous 2013.
1. First and foremost, it looks as if my first desire is going to be reality. We must go over the fiscal cliff. As it is practically impossible to convince the liberals to cut wasteful give away programs finally overnight we shall see them slashed. Some conservative friends of mine however, expressed fear over the massive cuts in defense. I can assure you that the defense cuts shall be restored very quickly as the issue is governments only responsibility to the mass of the people.
2. A full scale investigation into the Benghazi situation. Something is fishy here and we need to find Mr. Obama’s and Mrs. Clinton’s proper role in all of it.
3. All the best of health to Justices Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, Alito and Kennedy!!!!
4. No more wasteful White House social gatherings. Dred Zeppelin dining at the White House on my tax dollars is a sheer disgrace!!!!
5. More brave Governors who refuse to implement factions of Obamacare.
6. Students choosing healthy exercise, proper diet and sleep over debauchery, drugs and sleeping in class.
7. An official in each school equipped with an assault weapon.
Such are some of my wishes for this year to come. I wish each and every one of you a safe and prosperous new year. Remember, give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish and he eats forever. Something to think about this morning……….

Really, this as to be the dumbest statement you have ever written. Remember that the republican house was elected as well. If people wanted the president to have a rubber stamp the house would have gone Democrat...
I know, compromise is only compromise when republicans cave to democrats.
I say let's go over the ****ing cliff, you all want increased taxes, well these will go acrsoss the board. Also, so many other b.s. progrmas, like argiculture subsides, and price controls will go out the window. I think these automatic cuts will make us stronger and less dependent on government. So let's Thelma and Louise this thing.
