CASEY GETS FIRST CHALLENGER IN HIS '18 SENATE BID

Senator Bon Casey will have an opponent in the 2018 Democratic primary. Here’s his release. Western Pennsylvania news organizations are cordially invited to attend the second of two rallies being held by Patriots for Saccone on March 1st to begin Dr. Rick Saccone’s 2018 campaign to serve Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate.
Dr. Saccone currently serves in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 39th Legislative District (Allegheny and Washington counties). He has a Ph.D. in International Affairs, serves as a college professor and has authored nine books. He has experience in international business and has lived and worked overseas while traveling to 75 countries. Saccone is also a retired officer of the U.S. Air Force.
The first challenger to formally announce his candidacy to unseat Sen. Bob Casey, Saccone has a known reputation as supporting fiscally conservative policies as well as right to life and right to bear arms issues.

ROLLING MILL HILL RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION FORMED IN WILKES BARRE

The Wilkes-Barre Rolling Mill Hill Residents’ Association was formed under the guidance of W-B District B City Councilman Tony Brooks a year ago and the residents have diligently worked together for the betterment of their neighborhoods and toward the overall good for the city. This past year the Association has been active in participating in and/or initiating projects and events for the area residents including programs for the youth as seen on the various occasions below.
--Presenting our police officers with snacks and sweets to show them our support during Appreciation Week
-- Participating in the chicken dinner fundraiser for K9 police officers in conjunction with Crime Watch on Public Square during the summer of 2016
--cleaned and beautified Eyerman and Spruce St. Parks in the Rolling Mill Hill Area in conjunction with Earth Day in April, 2016
--Joined with Dodson School PTO to sponsor Trunk or Treat for the youth of the area at Halloween in October, 2016
--Joined with Dodson School PTO to sponsor Snacks with Santa for Christmas in 2016
--Participated by marching in the Christmas Parade sponsored by Wilkes-Barre City in November 2016
--President Linda Joseph and W-B District B City Councilman, Tony Brooks, and Community Policing Officer, Robert Collins visited businesses on Hazle Street to introduce himself and the Rolling Mill Hill Residents’ Association.
-- Held our first picnic for the association in June, 2016
-- President Linda Joseph has addressed council and met with city administration on behalf of residents’ concerns and issues
--Clothing Drive held to benefit St. Vincent DePaul Kitchen in February, 2017
--formation by the Association in January, 2017 of the HELPING HANDS PROJECT whereby volunteers will be assisting the elderly and disabled who need help in cleaning yards, shoveling snow and cutting grass .
Guest speakers during the past year have included City Mayor Tony George, City Administrator Ted Wampole, City Attorney Tim Henry, City Enforcement Officer Joe Rodano, District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis, W-B School Director Shawn Walker, Representatives from Big Brother/Big Sister Organization, Chief W-B Paramedic, Michael Stadulis.
MEETINGS: Every Third Wednesday with the exception of June, July and August. A picnic is held in June for all to come together to enjoy a day of socializing. No meetings are held in July and August. A Christmas Gathering is held in December.
MEETING LOCATION: Wilkes-Barre Mennonite Church, 225 Blackman St. W-B unless otherwise announced on Facebook page, RMH Residents’ Association. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm.

Perhaps Saccone will be kind enough to tell us just how far up the hienie of Popular Vote Loser Trump he's prepared to insert his nose.
