The LuLac Edition #3922, November 5th, 2018
Here in the land of Luzerne, there are various historical landmarks regarding the battles fought for early Independence. Nearly 245 years after that, a big battle looms in Luzerne County and it is political in nature.
The face off will involve the two political parties, the Republicans and the Democrats.
In 2016, Luzerne County went big for Donald Trump. The win helped Trump not only carry Pennsylvania but the nation. Two years later the Republican Party is defending their decision galvanizing support behind Trump and in effect their actions.
During the 2016 race, Luzerne County was pretty much ignored by the Hillary Clinton campaign. Cobble that together with a group of Democratic voters who essentially forgot where they came and who got them what, it is no wonder the GOP carried the day. Now in 2018 the Democrats are fighting to take Luzerne County back! As I mentioned, somehow the voters who used to vote Democratic forgot the values that were espoused by the Democratic Party. There are a lot who fed off the political largess of the Dems that suddenly turned on the party in favor of a political party that opposed every positive thing they ever used at their disposal.
The challenge of the Democratic Party is to remind voters dissatisfied with the way the country is going to come back to the them. .
Granted there are some who will be forever ungrateful. But there has to be a message sent to middle class voters that their tax cuts from the Republican Party will not last. Plus any extra money in the paycheck will go for health care.
Also, people have to know HERE that “The Caravan” will not invade Wilkes Barre Township. It is stunning that all these big strong folk are afraid of women and children who will be exhausted as sick kittens when they get to even Mexico. My feeling has always been that those Republicans are afraid of the color and not the character of these people.
This election is a battle, hell it might even be a war as Wilkes Barre Mayor Tony George has pointed out this summer at a 121st District reorganization meeting.
A war on decency.
A war on Health Care and the pre existing conditions that we all have one way or another.
A war on Social Security which Republicans will want to cut to pay for the Trump tax cuts.
A war on women in the home, in the workplace and in the schools. The party that enables a Donald Trump does not support women.
A war on truth. Just today, the Barletta campaign sent this e mail about Vice President Biden and Robert Casey. . This is what they said about him: “
Under Joe Biden’s “leadership,” our country saw massive unemployment, lower wages, and mass amnesty.
Think about those three things. Massive unemployment? The rate started to go DOWN under the previous administration. Wages held steady. And mass amnesty? To whom and when?
Disastrous and harmful policies like these are exactly what you can expect if Senator Casey wins on Tuesday.
This type of lie is becoming commonplace in their playbook.
Have Democrats lieed on occasion? As Dr. House used to say “Everybody lies” but not to the blatant extent this Republican Party or President has.
6,420 so far. And we aren’t talking Burger King Whopper here either.
A war on facts. Republicans believe only two facts in Luzerne County this year. That Trump won and that every citizen, not just a Democrat, who disagrees with them are “unhinged”. That’s sad.
A war on Medicaid and the Disabled. If you have an elder parent, if you have a disabled child, if YOU become disabled from a medical condition, it is a WAR on you. Republicans will have to believe that Medicaid is for people using it as a way to get something for free. In fact, Medicaid is a life saver to those who are in dire physical need and can’t get help anywhere else.
A war on humanity. Why is it that Immigration is such a scourge with Republicans? It is a proven fact that most of the terrorism was not from little children and women.
Save for African Americans who came unwillingly and Indians who we screwed we are all immigrants.
In ths country we waste more food ever day than you can ever imagine. 40% of the food in America is WASTED, thrown out, every single day. We can’t make room for people? We could have an immigration policy in place except for Republican opposition.
Finally, this, a war on action. Riddle me this. How can Republicans say the Democrats are obstructionists when they’ve had the majority the last two years?
The battle is Tuesday and the sides are ready to engage. Who wins will decide what type of people we want to be.

So if the vote total is a route like the last time, are you saying they are all ingrates again? You're not being clear with your rants.
