The LuLac Edition #3979, January 8th, 2019
This is HUGE. The grant is just for Luzerne County and for a program that has a 250 to 300 person waiting list. For too long early intervention in education was waylaid by the GOP elections in the state in 2010. That election nearly put in peril, Governor Ed Rendell's work on early childhood intervention.
This funding will reach those kids on that waiting list and hopefully give a living wage to those case workers who have in their hands the future of our population.
For years Cartwright as a member of the minority has brought home dollars for the public good. Now in his new role as a member of the majority, you will see this guy really rock and roll.
And his work will bemefit the middle and lesser classes.
Luzerne County Head Start offers Pre-K, Early Head Start, and Head Start programs for children in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. These comprehensive programs provide social, nutritional, and educational services to children and families in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
“This grant is an investment in our children – the future of our country. Early childhood learning is vital to strengthening our economy and our country,” said Rep. Cartwright, a member of the Appropriations Committee. “I applaud Luzerne County Head Start on receiving this award and their dedication to enhancing the quality of life for children and families in Northeastern Pennsylvania.”
Baker replaces three decade veteran Stewart Greenleaf.
The appointment was announced by the Senate leader of the GOP.

In light of the recent revelations about Manafort's disclosures of polling data to the Russkies in early 2016, I'd like to hear whether there's anyone out there who continues to claim that "collusion" by the campaign has not been established.
Anyone?
Lisa Baker kind of has that Mary Tyler Moore hotness to her
