AN OPEN LETTER TO VICE PRESIDENT PENCE
Mr. Vice President:
First off I disagree with a lot of your policies. I don’t think you can pray the gay away from anyone. Also, your stand on social programs is not up my alley. I also think that if Tom Wolf lost the 2014 election to Tom Corbett here in Pennsylvania in 2014, he’d be the Veep instead of you. Having been in my share of strange relationships, I thought it was odd you called your wife Mother. Like in public. All that stated, I never once doubted your love of this country
You had a tough run though sir. In order to have the chance of a lifetime and be in the history books, you stood by a boss that was demanding, humiliating to you and somewhat unstable. Would I have done the same thing? You bet.
Hey we were both in radio so we had to have our share of **itheads and even crack heads in our careers. So I respect that tenacity and patience when you as a former Congressman and Governor thought “What the hell, why him and not me!!!?" I also have to tell you that you had that look of adoration when your boss spoke down pat. Nancy Reagan would be jealous!
For your service to Mr. Trump, many have demonized you. But I did not. There are many who say you are now a man without a party having followed the duties of your office on January 6th in what is usually a pro forma, arcane procedure that has been mostly ceremonial. But it almost got you killed by a seditious mob. To add insult to injury the cowards in Congress that you met here locally, Dan Meuser and Fred Keller voted against the certification of the election AFTER that behavior nearly made “Mother” Pence a widow! But you as an American first, a Vice President to the country and not Mr. Trump, did the right thing.
You upheld your oath of office. It might not get you a nomination for the party that you have given service to. You might not even win another election again. But those judgements are minor compared o the verdict of history. Mr. Pence, you will go down in history as a man of principle when it counted.
During the past week when your boss went AWOL, you have thanked our troops, steadied our nation and acted, well like the adult your parents and America expected you to be.
While your political future is uncertain as you leave, your soul is intact.
Unlike the rest of this administration, history will judge you well. Thank you for your service to our nation sir.
Sincerely,
David Yonki
