BIDEN AND THE RAIL STRIKE
It just seems like there has been one thing after another for Joe Biden in the Oval Office. Just when one thing settles down, another possible crippling issue takes the spotlight. This week it was the threatened rail strike that could have caused more headaches for the supply chain. Biden and his team went through a negotiating period with the unions and averted a strike.
This is called leadership and relying on your team like Labor secretary Marty Walsh. This is what real Presidents do. Solve problems.
RON THE BIGOT
NOT THE CHRISTIAN
Imagine you are an immigrant coming into this country. You
traveled thousands of miles. When you get to what Ronald Reagan called “The shinning city on the hill” you are told you’re going to another place. Like chattel
you are loaded onto a plane and dropped
in a small resort island in New England. It is not for fun or relaxation but to
be used to make a political point for a tiny little dirt bag named Ron
DeSantis. This is your new Republican party. A party of hate, a party of vengeance. A party
of unkindness and inhumanity. DeSantis and his ilk are racist pigs that fill
their bellies up on the trough of hate. Not original at all, they used the playbook of the 1960s whites who called Civil Rights nonsense.
There was a political party in Germany in the 30s that did the same thing. They told you how “Christian” they were. Told you how white they were. Under the cloak of patriotism that used the marginalized and hopeful to gain power.
Like those we vanguished in the second world war, Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott deserve a special place in hell. Bullies that pick on the weak. Pricks!
Kudos to the good people of New England for showing the poor what real Americans do.

DOES MONICA MOURN STARR?
Monica Lewinsky (Photo: wikipedia)
My favorite ex government employee tweeted the other day about Ken Starr’s death. Starr was the special prosecutor in Bill Clinton’s blowjob impeachment trial. Starr apparently mistook Clemton for Ron Jeremy but that’s a tory for another time.
Lewinsky captured her thoughts about the death of Ken Starr, the former independent counsel who helped uncover her affair with former President Bill Clinton, saying in a tweet, "I imagine it’s a painful loss," for his loved ones.
Starr investigated the former president and his wife, Hillary Clinton, for years, including an investigation into an Arkansas real estate deal the couple was involved in. He died Tuesday at age 76.
“As I’m sure many can understand, my thoughts about ken starr bring up complicated feelings,” Lewinsky offered.
DEADBEAT TRUMP NOW WORRIED ABOUT QUALITY OF LEGAL REPRESENTATION
Politico's Betsy Woodruff Swan reported Thursday that Donald Trump is shelling out $3 million to one of his lawyers handling the classified document scandal.
Over the past several weeks, pundits have chastised Trump for causing so many problems for his lawyers that MAGA stands for "Make Attorneys Get Attorneys." That has been the case for lawyer Christina Bobb, who signed an official document to the court saying that Trump didn't have any more classified documents. It was a lie that is now causing her legal problems.
Having someone like Trump as a client and run the risk of not being paid at all or disbarred has meant that Trump can't find attorneys to help him when necessary. A $3 million check from the Save America PAC appears to be the way he was able to bring on Chris Kise.
The former Florida solicitor general is making bank, Swan explained. New York Times Maggie Haberman noted that it's an indication that "this case has jolted him." He's "not known for paying lawyers."
The legal fees problem has become scrutinized by the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) told reporters that the committee members are researching whether witnesses had their legal fees paid for by Trump as a kind of agreement to protect him. The concern is that it could be considered witness tampering. The finances around the Jan. 6 attack and the legal fees are expected to be part of the next public hearing.
Any lawyer in their right mind or even desperate for recognition are crazy if they don’t get money up front. They realize like other barristers before him that everything Trump touched, including lawyers turns to shit. DEADBEAT TRUMP NOW WORRIED ABOUT QUALITY OF LEGAL REPRESENTATION,
MIKE LINDELL CLAIMED THE FBI TOOK HIS PHONE AT ONE OF ITS MINNESOTA LOCATIONS
The fast food restaurant chain Hardee’s took to social media to capitalise on its newfound notoriety after My Pillow CEO and ardent Donald Trump supporter Mike Lindell claimed that the FBI seized his cell phone at a Hardee’s in southern Minnesota on Tuesda“ Now that you know we exist... you should really try our pillowy biscuits,” Hardee’s tweeted early on Wednesday morning.
Contacted by Insider for a reaction to the tweet, Mr Lindell replied to the chain’s missive with: “Funny!” He later confirmed to the publication that FBI officials cornered him at a Hardee’s in his hometown of Mankato, Minnesota and questioned him before taking his cell phone.
“Cars pulled up in front of us, to the side of us, and behind us and I said those are either bad guys or the FBI,” Mr Lindell said Tuesday night on the Lindell Report. “Well, it turns out they were the FBI.”
Mr Lindell said he was at the restaurant on his way back from a hunting trip in Iowa and ordered a mushroom swiss cheeseburger and a chocolate shake.
He also said in a video posted to social media on Tuesday that he was told not to reveal that the search had happened but was choosing to disregard that directive. In a statement to The Daily Beast, an FBI spokesperson confirmed that “the FBI was at that location executing a search warrant authorized by a federal judge.
The temporary loss of the cell phone seems to be especially grievous to Mr Lindell, who said that he does not own a computer.
“I go, ‘No. My whole company — I run five companies off that. I don’t have a computer,’” Lindell told Insider. “My hearing aids run off this! Everything runs off my phone!”
Per a copy of the subpoena shared by Mr Lindell, the FBI is investigating him for any possible involvement in tampering with voting machines used in the 2020 presidential election. Mr Lindell has for the better part of two years been launching efforts to overturn the result of the election, which he baselessly believes was marred by voter fraud and illegitimately stolen from Mr Trump.
Despite his best efforts, Mr Lindell has not made any significant headway in proving his claims of fraud. He is now, however, another visible member of Mr Trump’s political circle to be implicated in a major federal investigation. Mr Trump was none too happy about the news, claiming on Truth Social that the raid showed that “The majesty of the United States is gone.”
For Hardee’s, a chain with locations in 31 states primarily concentrated in the midwest and southern states, the location of the FBI raid — and Mr Lindell’s volubility about it — represents a significant amount of attention and free media. Hardee’s has two locations in Mankato, both of which are open today.
Kindell cried that the government coming into afast food restaurant can happen to any American. Uh no.....JUST THE ONES THAT ARE COMMITTING A CRIME! Jesus THESE TRUMPANZEES HAVE SHIT FOR BRAINS! (MSN, LuLac)
Congressman Matt Cartwright (Photo: LuLac archives)
Congressman Matt Cartwright provided opening remarks to the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations during a field hearing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to examine drops in the U.S. Postal Service’s mail delivery performance, recent increases in postal mail theft and crime, and whether the Postal Service is prepared to effectively receive and deliver mail-in ballots nationally during the upcoming election cycle.
Congressman Cartwright’s remarks to the Subcommittee on Government Operations hearing, “Delivering for Pennsylvania: Examining Postal Service Delivery and Operations from the Cradle of Liberty” are below:
“Thank you to Chairman Connolly for convening this hearing and thank you to my fellow members of the Pennsylvania delegation and representatives from USPS for being here.
Over the past two years, my office has seen a record number of constituent calls and casework requests for assistance with their mail and package delivery. Hundreds of constituents have called into my office, written letters, responded to my online survey, and sent emails to express their concerns about USPS. We have heard horror stories from constituents who are told by their local post offices that first class mail is going unsorted and that there aren’t enough carriers to cover all the routes, resulting in astonishing delays in delivery.
Constituents in communities across the 8th Congressional District reported going more than two days without mail, despite a promise made to my office that no household should go more than one day without a delivery. Earlier this year, residents of South Abington Township Pennsylvania were going 10-12 days without mail
Not only were there reports of package and mail delivery but also poor and unreliable service at post office locations. Hours were shortened and locations were closed for days without notice. The Bushkill Post Office was closed for five consecutive days earlier this year.
People rely on the mail and the Postal Service to conduct the business of their daily lives: to get their medication, pay their bills, and receive the benefit checks they are owed. The answer should not be to bank online or get direct deposit. The answer is holding the US Postal Service accountable to do their job while also listening to their concerns or needs for additional resources.
I have worked directly with USPS to try to get this issue resolved, including meeting directly with Mr. Vaccarella and other members of his staff, but unfortunately, the issues are ongoing.
I have demanded solutions for my constituents, but the complaints kept coming in. As one community’s issue appears to resolve, another community reports delivery delays, problems at their post office location, or other issues with the services offered by USPS like mail forwarding.
I think everyone here can agree that we’re on the same page of wanting reliable, expeditious mail and package delivery for the American people. And I think we can all agree that USPS employees are hardworking public servants who deserve the resources, training, and fellow staff members they need to do their jobs effectively.
I hope we have a productive hearing to work toward solutions to better serve the people of Pennsylvania.”
CASEY PUSHES FOR INFORMATION FROM STATE NURSING HOME INSPECTORS AMIDST STAFFING SHORTAGES, WIDESPREAD INSPECTION DELAYS
SOME STATE SURVEY AGENCIES HAVE REPORTED VACANCY RATES OF UP TO 50 PERCENT AMONG INSPECTION STAFF, AFFECTING AGENCIES’ ABILITY TO CARRY OUT OVERSIGHT WORK TO PROTECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF NURSING HOME RESIDENT
Senator Bob Casey (Photo: LuLac archives)
U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) is pushing for information on how staffing shortages at state survey agencies are affecting their ability to ensure the health and safety of residents at long-term care facilities. Senator Casey is sending a letter to survey agencies in all 50 states as well as Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico after reports from federal watchdogs repeatedly link staffing shortages at survey agencies with failures to conduct timely, high-quality nursing home surveys. The Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services (OIG) issued a report in January identifying “staffing shortages as a root cause of State survey performance problems.” As of mid-August, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data show that nearly 30 percent of the national total of nursing homes are overdue for these standard surveys.
“State survey agencies are integral to ensuring the health and safety of Americans reliant on our Nation’s health care providers, ranging from hospitals to nursing homes to intermediate care facilities and more. These agencies play a particularly important role in oversight of the country’s more than 15,000 nursing homes, enforcing federal standards related to medical care, adequate staffing and safeguarding residents from abuse and neglect, among others. By conducting comprehensive inspections, known as standard surveys, every 15 months and promptly investigating complaints, state surveyors are the eyes and ears ensuring quality care is delivered,” wrote Senator Casey.
Current and former state survey agency officials have reported challenges hiring and retaining surveyors, which affects the frequency and quality of nursing home surveys, as local governments experience broader challenges attracting and retaining workers. In order to fulfill the annual requirements, states have used stopgap measures including hiring contract inspectors at high costs, encouraging overtime for surveyors and sending surveyors outside their regular regions. As such, Senator Casey is seeking details from states on how the availability and experience of surveyors affect their ability to carry out oversight responsibilities, data regarding turnover among agency staff as well as information on how rising salaries in the nursing profession affect hiring and retention.
Senator Casey secured a one-time $100 million funding boost for nursing home oversight in the CARES Act of March 2020, the first increase for nursing home oversight since fiscal year 2014. In August 2021, he introduced the Nursing Home Improvement and Accountability Act, which would address gaps in staffing, transparency, accountability and oversight of long-term care facilities. The legislation would further increase funding for nursing home surveys to improve oversight processes and hire, train, and retain surveyors, a provision the Biden Administration adopted in its fiscal year 2023 budget request.
GOV. WOLF ANNOUNCES $25.4 MILLION FROM BIDEN ADMINISTRATION FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE INFRASTRUCTURE
Governor Tom Wolf (Photo: LuLac archives)
Governor Tom Wolf announced today that the Biden Administration has awarded Pennsylvania $25.4 million to invest in clean transportation through the state’s plan for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure deployment. Pennsylvania is one of the first states in the nation to be approved for this first round of funding under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
“Addressing the global threat of climate change is a top priority throughout my administration and it’s a priority that President Joe Biden and I share. Investing in EV infrastructure is a critical way to reduce greenhouse gases and make EV chargers accessible for more Pennsylvanians,” Gov. Wolf said. “I’m grateful that the Biden Administration has committed a significant portion of the landmark Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for clean transportation, and that Pennsylvania will receive this initial investment to support our state’s efforts.”
The federal funding is part of a new National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program under the BIL that provides Pennsylvania more than $170 million over the next five years to support EV infrastructure. The Pennsylvania NEVI Plan will be administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
“PennDOT and our partners have been hard at work preparing for a future filled with electric vehicles,” said PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian. “These new funds available to us through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law give Pennsylvania the opportunity to reinvent transportation in a way that is smarter, cleaner, safer, more equitable and more efficient than ever before, and we are ready to put them to good use.”
“Increasing access to electric vehicles and EV chargers is one of the best ways to cut down on air pollution and fight climate change,” said Acting DEP Secretary Ramez Ziadeh. “These investments into improving EV charger infrastructure will mean cleaner air for Pennsylvanians, and will pay dividends for years and generations to come.”
There are more than 31,000 EVs registered in Pennsylvania, nearly triple the roughly 9,700 that were registered in March 2019.
The Wolf Administration has been making investments into EV infrastructure for years through programs like Driving PA Forward, which provides grants and rebates for chargers, and the Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant program that provides grants to EV and other alternative fuel infrastructure.
The NEVI Formula Program provides dedicated funding to Pennsylvania and other states to strategically deploy EV charging infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability. Initially, funding under this program is directed to designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs) for build-out of a national EV charging network, particularly along the Interstate Highway System to support long distance travel. Gov. Wolf has served for two terms as a leader consistently at work for the people of Pennsylvania. Learn more about how his Priorities for Pennsylvania have fueled the commonwealth’s comeback, leaving Pennsylvania in a much better place than when he arrived.
MEDIA MATTERS
CORDARO’S NONSENSE
Radio talk show screamer and felon Bob Cordaro made some serious allegations this week that President Biden was diseased and mentally ill. He of course screamed it to his fellow Trumpanzees and non patriots who profess their love for this country all the while undermining it with their ignorant mouths. It is Cordaro who has exhibited some instability. Again with WILK “talent” and I use that word loosely, ACCUSATION IS CONFESSION.
