MORE COLA RETURNS

A few more lawmakers representing Northeast Pennsylvania said they will return their COLAs. Reps. Jim Wansacz, D-114; Eddie Day Pashinski, D-121; and Ken Smith, D-112; said it’s the right thing to do given the bad economic conditions.

JOBLESS RATE HIGH

This might not be news to people out of work but unemployment in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metro area catapulted three tenths of a percentage point to 6.8 percent in October, the highest it has been in a decade. For the second consecutive month, Northeast Pennsylvania was burdened by the highest unemployment rate among the commonwealth’s 14 metro areas. State College had the lowest rate, at 4.5 percent.

SPECTER-CASEY ON 44

Pennsylvania’s two Senators, Arlen Specter and Robert Casey appear tonight on WVIA TV at 7PM. Bill Kelly hosts the program. State of Pennsylvania: tonight at 7.

News on the soft drink front,
Mellow Yellow gives back his Cola.
He's hangin on to all his other perks whch are considerable and why shouldnt he? People just keep reelecting the same people to state office and then try to publicly get them to do the right thing and rejoice when one does.

Yikes!
