KRISTI & THE KING
As you may have heard, WBRE TV’s Kristi Capel is going to a Fox TV station in Cleveland. Capel informed her audience officially Friday on WBRE TV. Since coming to the market, she has been an energetic presence in the community. A fixture at the Wilkes Barre Y, Kristi was most famous for her Coffee with Kristi events at Dunkin’ Donuts. I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of those events one August morning at about 5:15 in the summer of 2009. I had my picture taken with her and not for nothing, people have told me it is one of the best photos I ever took. As a matter of fact, the photo was cropped for usage in my book, that’s how good the folks at Alubirp Inc. thought it was.
But back to Kristi. She was a constant upbeat companion when there was a blizzard, a gentle rain or a hot steamy summer day. Kristi delivered the weather with not only a smile but pizazz. In broadcasting there are few people willing to take the chance to be “spontaneous”.
Kristi Capel had the trademark on “spontaneous combustion” Kristi travels to Cleveland with her husband Hal for the new start. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is there too. Ironic because Kristi will be forever linked to the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley. Presley would have been 76 today. The fact is Presley is dead longer than Kristi Capel is alive. But one morning, Kristi, and one of her co workers and an Elvis Impersonator paid tribute to the King. This video clearly shows she knocked it out of the park…like she will in Ohio. Good luck Kristi, you always made us smile!

Congresswoman Giffords of Arizona gets shot, I tune into our local NEWS radio station and what do they have on, some paid programing.
Come on? Isn't Corbett the one telling us how vital WILK is to keeping us informed? Don't they have people there to switch to a live feed of news that is going on?
Hate to see Kristi leave WBRE tv.It was great to watch her in the morning and give the daily forcast. Good luck to her and her husband on their move.
I really hate to have to watch that Joe guy on WNEP tv. I hope they get a good replacement for her.

THANKS FOR BUYING AND READING MY NEW BOOK. THE ENTIRE GIST OF THE BOOK WAS COMPLETED IN 2005, CHELSEA KING WAS DEVELOPED AS A CHARACTER LONG BEFORE KRISTI CAPEL CAME INTO THE MARKET. I BASED CHELSEA KING MORE ON A KIM MARTUCCI/JILLIAN BARBERI TYPE OF WEATHER FORECASTER.
Now that would have been a WBRE sandwich to be in the middle of!
