The LuLac Edition #1631, June 10th, 2011

PHOTO INDEX: "MAYBE I'M AMAZED" LOGO.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED

Maybe I’m Amazed……that Newt Gingrich went on a cruise instead of raising money for his faltering Presidential campaign. The guy needs a little balance, he ignores his first two wives because of his career and wrecks this latest reincarnation of this phase of his career by paying too much attention to wife 3.
Maybe I’m Amazed…..that the e mails from one Sarah Palin are generating such a big buzz. The celebrity factor of this woman is incredible. The only one other person that I can compare it to is Jackie Kennedy in terms of curiosity and public interest. You wait, in a few years you’ll see a Target or K Mart line or collection of clothing from either Bristol or Sarah Palin.
Maybe I’m Amazed…....the equity in most American homes right now is hovering at around 31%. 10 years ago it was 61%.
Maybe I’m Amazed……that people are surprised Anthony Weiner is going to try and stick it out. After all, he was married by Bill Clinton one of the most persevering people of all time. Unlike Weiner, Clinton at least got a little, uh face time with his fling.
Maybe I’m Amazed…….that still another one of my baseball boyhood players died this week. Jose Pagan the shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates drove in the winning run in the 1971 World Series. Pagan was denigrated earlier in the Series by Earl Weaver who said, “They gonna win with Pagan?” Uh, they did.
Maybe I’m Amazed…….at the lack of spine local business leaders seemed to have shown in the Lackawanna County Area by not standing up to the alleged demands of Bob Cordaro and A.J. Munchak.

Maybe I'm Amazed........that so many people following the NBA Finals are rooting for the Mavericks. As a Knick fan, the last 15 years I only watch the NBA Finals. But I'm struck by the fact that I heard more than 80% of the people following the series do not want the Heat to win. The only problem if the Heat do lose will be the re-entry of Pat Riley on the sidelines acing out his young coach. But whatever, Go Mavs!
Maybe I’m Amazed…….that Mitt Romney actually showed some guts by passing on that silly Iowa Straw Poll. His campaign funds would be spent better somewhere else. And I personally have a real problem with 90,000 people in all rural, all white state doing a thumbs up or thumbs down on Presidential candidates who have to govern the whole country.
Maybe I’m Amazed…….that the work on the Courthouse is proceeding so nicely. The building will be a nice thing to behold once again after the work is through.
Maybe I’m Amazed……that when I had my cancer operation I was on the table for 3 hours. Two root canals, root extractions and some other work took 4 hours and 10 minutes this morning which is why this edition was a tad late.

OUCH! Root canals suck.
People arent rooting for the Mavs as much as against the Heat and the one time self dubbed chosen one

"Maybe I’m Amazed……that people are surprised Anthony Weiner is going to try and stick it out"

Maybe I'm amazed that the weak Democrats in Washington are dumping on Weiner rather than circling the wagons and doing exactly as the Republicans have done. Eric Cantor has called for Weiner to resign even tough Weiner had not had sex with these women, he did not have sex with young boys, did not try to pick up anyone in a pubic men's room but Cantor thinks he should resign. When Republicans were found to have had sex with prostitutes, was arrested in public rest rooms for trying to pick up men and many other outlandish actions, Eric Cantor said it was a private matter between the public official, his wife and his constituents. He did not call for their resignation. Phonies all! And these ball-less Democrats run scared because they are up for reelection. I hope all the bastards lose. If the majority of the people who voted Weiner into office want him to stay then that's the way it should be. He is not my Congressman and he is not your's. His people want him to represent them and to be perfectly honest, I want him in there fighting for me and every other senior citizen. So stop being so easily amazed and wake the hell up.

There is more coming out about Weiner. Those defending him may want to hold off a bit. The above poster its proof of why we need to stop giving seniors so much.they dont deserve my hard earned money simply because they managed to stay in an erect posture

Students, I am continually amazed at the liberal elite's staunch defense of Mr. Weiner. I would ask each and every one of them what they would think if this middle aged degenerate sent sext messages and porn photos of himself to their 15 year old daughter.
We must understand that the position of U.S. Representative not only holds a great responsibility but also requires tact and dignity. Mr. Weiner has neither.
Class, I suggest that Mr. Weiner's problems began when he was your age...always getting what he wanted and not knowing that there is always a price to pay for friviolity in life. He now has found that his ego is not as great as the decent and God fearing people of this nation who expect their representatives to act like grown ups.
The last time Mr. Weiner shoudl have been in communication with a 15 year old was when he himself was 15. Since he has decided to act like a child he should be treated like a child.
Resign, Mr. Weiner; you only serve to embarrass those who you work for...and strengthen the GOP.
Have I made my point students???
Class Dismissed!!!!!!!!

Milburn and 5:44 AM

it is people like you who cause me to question my military service. Milburn takes it a step further and speaks about emailing a 15 year old ...THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! What the hell is wrong with you? And the other jerk who thinks people should not be defended when they are being crucified because "maybe" something will come out later .. well jerko ..... you are the guy I want in my foxhole! This is America and you to don't deserve to be any part of it. Both of you condemn the guy for things he didn't do but that's ok with you just as it is ok with the Washington Republicans like Eric Cantor who protects his own who actually break the law and crucify a guy who didn't. As for the jerk who doesn't want to pay for senior benefits, you will be there one day and if you were doing things to make yourself wealthy you wouldn't be wasting your time reading blog's. I'm retired and have time, Milburn tries to tell us he is professor and if that's true, he has more time than he knows what to do with so he lives in his little cyber school while he collects his welfare checks. Both of you need a good kick in the ass.

People who disagree with 8:11pm should be violently dealt with? Their first amendment rights do not exist?
What really were you doing in the military?
You support Weiner? Fine, but now with stories involving a 17 year old girl you don't think waiting is a good idea? That's right Weiner has said there was nothing inappropriate. The same guy who told us his account was hacked... Now he is going to rehab. The old stand by of the disgraced celebrity.
As far as taking care of seniors, I agree with the above. "I ask no one to work for my benefit, and I shall not work for the benefit of others." If we all focused on taking care of ourselves and our families, we would not be heading to our new name; The Socialist States of Amerika.

Wow Yonk, you didn't edit out threats of violence? What is your site becoming? It is okay for one of your posters to threatened other posters?

Getting a little tired of the so called professor. Let him get his own blog. He is sucking LULAC down
and needs to go or be limited to a reasonable number of posts. Most LULACERS understand this, but most are not as arrogant or assinine!

I second 1:22's motion strongly!
Soon I wont be reading the posts in order to avoid him or her.
Lulac is a very good site. Dont let anyone drag it down by taking overt advantage of the opportunity. Make the point but dont be an ass about it!

C'mon guys make up your mind. When I delete or don't publish stuff, I'm a Nazi facist. When I let the old Professor rant, you're not going to read the posts anymore?

Well Mr. Yonki, you hit the nail on the head with your piece about Barletta. If you check back, you will see he also voted to prevent EPA from taking action to reduce mercury pollution from cement plants, which are the 3rd largest source of mercury pollution. How the hell can anyone be against reducing mercury pollution? This potent neurotoxin has contaminated virtually every animal that consumes anything that lives in water, and that includes us. Everything from polar bears to salamanders to us is contaminated with mercury. We are literally poisoning ourselves to cool and heat our homes, but politicians like Barletta and Marino continue voting to prevent EPA to take action to protect our families. And then Barletta has the ultimate nerve of voting to cut EPA's funding while whining about them not doing their job. What a hypocrite.
