Our “Maybe I’m Amazed” logo.

MAYBE I'M AMAZED

MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that the clock is ticking on this fiscal cliff nonsense. Here’s my question. Just who is behind the Republican party that has them so twisted and hellbent on destruction of not only the country and themselves? Big business has accepted the fact that they must deal with Obama for four more years. Why can’t the GOP get that?
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……..that the more I hear WNEP’s Joe Snedecker complain about winter weather, the more I think he is some type of long lost relative. (We share the same birth date!) I agree with Joe, “winter is death!”
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……….that the Atlanta Falcons top pass receiver Tony Gonzalez is talking about retirement…again. He is getting to be a lot like Brett Farve. The last time he “retired”, the Falcons enticed him with tons of money. As they say, “money talks……”
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……….that there are 7,000 feathers on an Eagle. On a Philadelphia Eagle the amount depends on what time curfew was.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that the movies of Billy Wilder hold up so well. Films like “The Apartment” and “Some Like It Hot” are movies  you can’t turn off when you come across them on TV.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED………….that the tax increase numbers in area cities are high. 26% in Wilkes Barre, 63% in West Pittston, and nearly 86% in Hazleton. When there is no money anywhere else, the people who can least afford it get socked. And if the fiscal cliff is not resolved, in your first paycheck in January, look for a 2 percent increase in the payroll tax. Send your thank you to House Speaker John Boehner, the Tea Party and the Republican House.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED…….that some people have a problem with ABC calling their New Year’s Eve program “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve”. Clark owns the show, ABC is running it, what’s wrong with carrying his name on it. The late Clark can’t win for losing. If he was still around, people would bitch about his speech after his stroke. Even in death, he can’t please some people.
MAYBE I’M AMAZED……that an average bar of soap lasts twice as long as a bottle of body wash. That said, I’ll take my Axe any day.

Republicans talk of patriotism as they push their no longer beloved country over the cliff. Cooperation and compromise has become unheard of in our country on almost all levels. The rich get richer and those with guns get more guns. Meanwhile the christians get more christian. We
are headed for a cliff all right!

Actually, Hazleton decided to cut Police, fire protection and other services and ended up with a tax increase of less than 30%. In the meantime, Pittston City took on Home Rule, with promises at the voting places of a 20% reduction in R.E. taxes GUARANTEED. No reduction in R.E. tax and gues what, a $500,000 increase in wage taxes. Unfrigginbelievable! And not a word in the media who don't think Pittston has financial problems. Keep in mine that IF Hazleton had raised taxes by 83% they would still be 2 mills lower than Pittston. The R.E> tax in Pittston is just under 7 mills. Thank you to Pittston's great new leaders!

I'm amazed that some gun folks claim the second amendment comes from the Bible! If so, what kind of weapon did Jesus prefer? Was he a handgun or a AR 15 guy or both?
Where did all that turn the other cheek crap come from? Amazing!

Jesus did not pack a weapon.
The Apostles on the other hand were all armed to the teeth. You remember the Apostles Creed from Catholic School. In the creed they demanded teir second amendment rights which is where the confusion comes in. Its not in the Bible, its in the creed.
