The LuLac Edition #2753, October 17th, 2014

REPUBLICANS HOST THE GOVERNOR

The Luzerne County Republicans welcomed Governor Tom Corbett Thursday night at The Woodlands and the incumbent put on a show for the party faithful. Corbett met the stalwart members of the GOP and essentially told him that his speech boiled down to one thing, a need for victory in November. Corbett was by all reports animated, friendly and focused on the November 4th election.
Corbett made two striking points, the first being that he did everything he said he was going to do when first elected. He also pointed out that there is a true choice between Tom Wolf, his opponent and him. The Governor compared Wolf to his predecessor Ed Rendell saying that a Wolf victory would be a Rendell third term. The Governor cited Wolf’s lack of specifics as to where he would get the money for education and other programs.
After the speech Corbett made the rounds and greeted the GOP faithful from both Luzerne and Lackawanna counties telling them their support was critical to his reelection.
Today a new poll shows the race between The Governor and Wolf tightening with Wolf leading 49% to 42%. The Third District GOP has a meeting set for Thursday October 24th at the Dupont VFW starting at 6Pm.

Here’s Governor Corbett with two of the hardest working Republicans in Luzerne County. Susan Zaykoski and Jim O’Meara.
Here is a shot of part of the head table prior to the event. You can see State Representative Karen Boback of the 117trh conversing before the event.
The GOP came out strong and enthused to see the Governor.
Candidate for State Representative in the 114th Melaine Madeira has a chat with the Governor.

Meanwhile Luzerne County Council member Harry Haas has an engaging conversation with members of the GOP.
Wow to be a fly on the wall to hear what these guys were saying, here’s Doctor David Madeira and Party Chair Bill Urbanski.
All the above photos at the event courtesy of Jim O'Meara.
Many thanks to Luzerne County Chair Bill Urbanski for the invite. This group of Republicans in Luzerne County is determined and hard working and I respect their involvement in the process. As I mentioned to Mr Urbanski I had a late work week and could not attend. Besides, it might have been as the kids say nowadays, a little “awkward”.

Yonk, great report on the GOP dinner. loved the kicker at the end too. This my friend is why everybody reads you and likes you. After all the elections are over, we go to the same churches, pizza shops and drive the same roads.
Well done.

TEN REASONS I VOTE DEM.

#10. I vote Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry
whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my German Shepherd.

#9. I vote Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on
a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon
at 15% isn’t.

#8. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better
job of spending the money I earn than I would.

#7. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as
nobody is offended by it.

#6. I vote Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun,
and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from
murderers and thieves. I am also thankful that we have a 911 service
that get police to your home in order to identify your body after a
home invasion.

#5. I vote Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of
babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive
and comfy.

#4. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to
free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we
should take away Social Security from those who paid into it.

#3. I vote Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be
allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and
give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the
Democrat Party sees fit.

#2. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite
the Constitution every few days to suit fringe kooks who would never
get their agendas past the voters.

…And the #1 reason I vote Democrat is because I think it's better to
pay $billions$ for oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own
because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher or fish here in
America . We don't care about the beetles, gophers or fish in those
other countries.

Sure would llove to know what it is that gets these people into the corner of those whose goal it is to take away completely or at the least, reduce the benefits we worked for and looked forward to. I honestly don't understand why? Democrats protect our benefits and Republican attck them and then there are people who depend on those benefits who just don't seem to understand how they work and fight against their own best interests. How can Corbett even begin to show his face publicly after he caused our school taxes to go so high and then brag that he did what he promised to do. Somebody pinch me.

IN RESPONSE PART ONE 10-6)
TEN REASONS I VOTE DEM.
#10. I vote Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry

ONE OF MY CLIENTS IN TV WAS “ALL ABOUT SINGLES” OR I CAN HOOK YOU UP WITH THAT CREEPY E HARMONY GUY.
#9. I vote Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon at 15% isn’t.
AND HOW MUCH DID OILMAN DICK CHENEY HELP WITH THIS???
#8. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
OKAY, YOU RUN THE SCHOOLS, THE WATER QUALITY, THE ROADS, THE MILITARY, CONGRESS (YEAH I’D LOVE TO SEE YOU TRY THAT) EMERGENCY FLOODS AND HURRICANES. HAVE AT IT!!!!!
#7. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
RUSH LIMBAUGH OFFENDS EVERY DAY. YOU SEE PEOPLE HAULING HIM AWAY IN CUFFS?
#6. I vote Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from

YOU CAN OWN AS MANY GUNS AS YOU LIKE. JUST NOT GUNS THAT TAKE OUT 30 CHILDREN IN UNDER A MINUTE. AND BY THE WAY, HAS ANYONE COME FOR YOUR GUNS? HAVE YOU HEARD OF ANY LIBERAL TAKING YOUR GUNS AWAY?

IN RESPONSE PART TWO 5 -1
#5. I vote Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy.YEAH YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT THE ABORTED BABIES BUT DON’T GIVE A SHIT FOR THE KIDS AFTER THEY ARE BORN. CUTTING HEAD START, CUTTING PRE SCHOOL, LOOKING DOWN YOUR NOSES AT THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED WELFARE. I BELIEVE THAT ABORTION IS THE LAST RESORT BUT LET’S NOT HOLD VIGILS FOR THE UNBORN WHILE YOU HAVE LITTLE KIDS GETTING THE CRAP BEAT OUT THEM WITH CINDER BLOCKS BECAUSE THEY’RE ON THEIR OWN AFTER TRAVELING THROUGH THE BIRTH CANAL. BTW, I’M ALL FOR THE DEATH PENALTY. BUT I THINK THE FAMILIES OF THE VICTIMS SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PULL THE SWITCH. PLUS, I'M ALL FOR HARD TIME. NO GYMS, TV, NOTHING. BOOKS.
#4. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take away Social Security from those who paid into it.
THEY DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO ANY OF THAT. THEY HAVE TO SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP. HAVE YOU EVER APPLIED FOR A BENEFIT? YOU NEED TWO FORMS OF ID AND A PLETHORA OF OTHER STUFF. DO YOU THINK AN ILLEGAL ALIEN IS GOING TO MARCH INTO ONE OF THESE PLACES AND GET IT JUST LIKE THAT? BTW, THE GOP WERE THE ONES WHO HAVE WANTED TO “PRIVATIZE” SOCIAL SECURITY SINCE IT EXISTED.
#3. I vote Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrat Party sees fit.
NO THEY DON’T NEED TO BREAK EVEN. THEY NEED TO PAY A FAIR WAGE, KEEP THEIR AGREEMENTS ON PENSIONS, GET REWARDS FOR TAKING THE CHANCE ON CREATING JOBS BUT NOT SCREW OVER THEIR WORKERS WHO HELP THEM BUILD THAT BUSINESS. YOU MAKE IT SOUND LIKE THE WORKERS ARE ASKING FOR A HANDOUT!!!
#2. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
I ASSUME YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE MOST CONSERVATIVE SUPREME COURT IN THE LAST FIFTY YEARS? LIBERAL JUDGES ARE IN THE MINORITY. BUT HEY IF YOU THINK JOHN ROBERTS IS NOT CONSEVATIVE ENOUGH, TAKE THAT UP WITH ONE MR. GERGE W. BUSH, OUR 43rd PRESIDENT.
…And the #1 reason I vote Democrat is because I think it's better to
pay $billions$ for oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own
because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher or fish here in America . We don't care about the beetles, gophers or fish in those other countries.
TEDDY ROOSEVELT, A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT SET ASIDE THOUSANDS OF MILES IN OUR COUNTRY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. IN THE LAST 6 YEARS OIL PRODUCTION IN THE U.S. HAS ACTUALLY INCREASED. AS FAR AS THOSE PEOPLE HATING US, I AGREE THAT WE SHOULD NOT SPEND BILLIONS TO PLAY NICE FOR THEIR OIL, WE SHOULD MAKE ISRAEL OUR 51st STATE AND JUST TAKE IT ALL. BUT THEN YOU’D GRIPE THAT WE WERE TOO IMPERIALISTIC.

I can think of many more than 10 reasons why I will not be voting for Tom Corbett or any other Republican this election season. But the biggest reason is their egregious attempt to suppress the vote and subvert the Constitution with their stupid voter ID failure. Millions of our tax dollars wasted on a problem that doesn't exist. I will never forget the shameful words of Rep. Mike Turzai who proudly proclaimed voter ID would assure Mitt Romney's victory in PA. How do bums like this ever get elected?

My reply to the 10 reason he votes Democrat would have to address the truth and that would be why he votes (in reality) for nothing but Republicans.
It is OK by him to support Haliburton who received billions of our tax dollars on their no bid contract to supply everything under the sun in Iraq and Afg AND THEN SAY THANK YOU AMERICA BY MOVING THEIR HEADQUARTERS in DUBAI.
Cut food programs for children and then shut down the government costing us billions of dollars.
Wonder why Obama's ratings are going down for lack of progress and forget that the Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell began the career of Obama by saying his ONLY job for the next four years was to see to it that Obama did not get reelected.
He sees no problem with the filler buster being used more against Obama than all other presidents combined.
I could go on and on as to why this guy vote Republican but in truth there is only one real reason, he is a bigoted ***hole

IN RESPONSE

I WON'T GO THAT FAR....BUT I CAN TELL YOU THIS. IN EVERY NATIONAL AND STATE ELECTION SINCE I BEGAN VOTING, 1972, I NEVER DID A STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC PARTY BALLOT. I FOUND AT LEAST ONE REPUBLICAN WHO COULD SERVE THE INTERESTS OF THE COUNTRY OR STATE THAT WOULD HELP US GOVERN. FOR MORE THAN 35 YEARS AT LEAST ONE MEMBER OF THE GOP WAS WORTHY OF MY DEMOCRATIC VOTE.
THAT PRETTY MUCH STOPPED IN 2010 WHEN THE TEA PARTY ANTI GOVERNMENT PEOPLE TOOK OVER. ON A NATIONAL OR STATE LEVEL, I WOULD NEVER, EVER CONSIDER VOTING FOR A MEMBER OF THAT PARTY. WHEN YOU DRIVE REASONABLE PEOPLE LIKE ME INTO STRAIGHT VOTING DEMOCRAT....YOU KNOW YOUR PARTY HAS LOST ALL SENSE OF CONSENSUS. SO WHILE THE COMMENTS MAY OR MAY NOT BE BIGOTED THEY ARE THE REASON WHY I'VE BEEN VOTING STRAIGHT PARTY SINCE THEN.

I'm with you Yonk. I voted for Toomey in 2010 but won't in 2016. He has done nothing to distance himself from the crazies and has done nothing to help on issues that help working class families.
