Let’s see, conservative loudmouth Republicans tell us that illegal immigrants brought the Ebola virus. Then they brought the flu with them. This week we hear that they brought the measles with them. How many illegal’s first stop was in Disneyland? If what the Conservatives say is true, these are very sick people and we better get them health care right now!! Oh my God, look out here comes the bubonic plaque. Those damn illegals!!! Sorry, way too much Michael Savage though I do agree with him on Israel.
Congressman Matt Cartwright released this e mail the other day on climate change. President Obama said it best in his State of the Union Address: “No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change.” We need bold action now to protect our planet from the looming disaster of climate change.
But Congress continues to drag its feet on doing the serious work we need. This has to stop: We can’t afford any more delays on addressing the dangers of climate change.
I’m proud to be joining with my colleagues on the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition in telling Congress: We need to get serious about fighting climate change. Sign the petition to join us. Since my first day in Congress, I’ve been fighting to protect our environment. There’s a lot of work ahead of us, from improving regulations to keep dangerous pollutants out of our waterways to making plans to adapt to the extreme weather climate change brings.
Last year was the warmest year on record – and 14 of the 15 warmest years have happened since 2000. Taking steps to protect our environment isn’t just necessary, it’s long overdue. The Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition will keep working hard to tackle this issue, and we need you to stand with us.
Cartwright has not been shy on this issue. During the 2014 campaign he made Climate change as part of his stump speech.
Dear Men,
Your woman does NOT want the following for Valentine's Day:
-Pajamagrams
-Snuggie
-Any Household Appliance...
Also, red roses this time of year show zero imagination and tell us you're fiscally irresponsible. Be more imaginative with flowers...
Regarding chocolates: we just made New Year’s Resolutions to drop holiday pounds so don't make it tougher on us.
For the record, jewelry, nice dinner, spa, beautiful letter...always works.
Or just do what our heart truly desires: the laundry, the dishes, and pick your clothes off the floor.
Simon's work outlives him, and not just on reputation. A story he was working on with his producer, daughter Tanya Simon, about searching for an Ebola cure, is scheduled to air on "60 Minutes" this weekend. The newsmagazine will have a full tribute to Simon on Feb. 22.
He died at age 73.
Simon was a foreign correspondent in the heyday of CBS News and broadcast news in general. He was one of the last to leave Vietnam following the fall of Saigon in 1973.
Tuesday night was a huge night for 21rst century news and pop culture. Brian Williams from NBC News was suspended for 6 months without pay and scolded big time by his bosses at the network. The reason was his embellishment of an event that happened overseas during combat.
Then John Stewart from The Daily Show advised he was giving up that long running show because he needed to take a break. Stewart has become a major news source to many people in this country which I guess is part of the dumbing down of information. But damn he got ratings.
The significance here is that two major players departed for varying reasons. There will be a gap that some smart network or personality can try to fill. Lester Holt is subbing for Williams while there seems to be no clear successor to the comedian Stewart.

Yonki, you're right. It's impossible that any of the immigrants might have brought over any viruses. How stupid can we all be? You're right, how can that possibly be true? Do they have innoculations in Mexico? Don't know, just asking. Are you sure that scenario isn't the least bit possible? If you say so, I for one will believe it. Your words are always so logical, your thoughts MUST be true. Surely must be those damn Republicans crying wolf again. You certainly were right with all your thoughts about ol Barrack, way back when. Maybe he's a closet Republican. The bastards. And yeah, we should worry more about climate change than ISIS. Those folks are only a few ill thinking radicals trying to cause trouble. The scamps. Honestly I think your thoughts and ways of thinking are just as nonsensical as the ones you so adamantly condemn in almost every column you write. Maybe we can all get to that coveted happy medium. Sometimes I think you as big an asshole as Michael Savage just one the opposite side of the street. Still, my man, I enjoy reading your rants. Keep the good work.
Yonki ... Yonki ... Yonki!!!!
You do realize that most people in the "anti-vax" movement, especially in the beginning, were more likely to look like Steve Corbett than Rand Paul.
Most of the philosophical anti-vaxers are aging hippies.
Anyway,
Hope this isn't too late for 13 questions.
I know this may sound insensitive, but don't you think Mike Kerkowski's parents should have been charged with some type of money laundering charge? Via reported testimony it would appear they were stashing the ill gotten loot.
I'll trade my congressman, Tom Marino, for Matt Cartwright any day. Marino is so baaaaddd, he makes me wish Don Sherwood was still around.
Hope this isn't too late for 13 questions.
IN RESPONSE
Never too late for 13 questions. You bumped The Beatles and The Apprentice!!!!
"Also, red roses this time of year show zero imagination"
Yep, I didn't send them one year, and my wife was so sad. She looked forward to them.
People are individuals, you would think a republican would get that and not give general advice.
Please, climate change? More like "kook science" What happened to global cooling in the 70's, then its global warming and now they're calling it climate change. I'm sure the Koch Brothers were responsible for the ice age too.
Joe V
Hey Tiffany,
Haven't you figured out the Teddy Bear, and stuff is marketed to kids just jumping in to the V-day arena by showing them that adults love them?
Again, a media type thinking we are too stupid to think for ourselves.
Maybe she is merely seeking to set up a piss-off for some women who appreciate any show of affection and will suddenly change their mind about what previously was OK - for them!
For this you deserve a years supply of pink Lady Gillettes.
