The LuLac Edition #4,006, February 13th, 2019

13 QUESTIONS

Your "13 Questions" logo.

1. Were you surprised by the outcome of the Super Bowl?

Not at all. New England is the ultimate football factory and Bill Belichick deconstructed the success of the Rams. He took a young Quarterback and had his defense keep him at bay. It was predictable, leaving almost nothing to chance. New England has two stars, Brady and Belichick, the rest are bit players in this 18 year saga. When you get a year ending run from a 31st round draft pick like Sony Michele who over performs, you get a win. I told many friends that whether you like the Pats or not, you are witnessing something you will never see again in your lifetime. It reminds me of the ’49 to ’64 Yankees which I got in on the tail end of. No surprise though in this game.

2. With so many candidates running for office on the democratic side do you have a favorite?

My heart is with Biden. I think there are too many Senators running for their own good. Watch for either an African American or woman to be on the ticket somewhere but it is too early to tell.

3. Will so many candidates divide the message?

Maybe. The dilemma here is that they all must present a united message in contrast to Trump. But then one wonders how they can stand out to get the nomination. It will be wildly entertaining and I can’t wait to see it.

4. Do you think Hillary Clinton regrets losing her race?

I’m sure. I think she got a raw deal all around from being attacked for over 25 years by the right wing press but I think the person who really, really regrets he won is Diaper Don himself.

5. Beto O’Rouke, run or wait.

My heavens wait. It is crazy that after you lose a race you are close contender? Losing a race in conventional 20th century politics was the kiss of death. Now Oprah becomes your cheerleader.

6. Do you find Flo from progressive attractive?

No but I’m sure some people do.

7. What are your thoughts on Ivanka Trump saying she gives zero thought to the
Mueller probe?

Well I think she is whistling past the graveyard on this one. Unless she wants to visit her hubby in the klink. But yeah that’s either a brave front or just plain naive.

8.   Will Stefanie Salavantis win another term as DA?

Yep. She has a record of convictions and managing the office pretty well. She did well what she knew and let others handle the stuff that she recognized had a better handle on it than she did. It’s called leadership.

9. Scranton Mayor Bill Courtwright’s investigation, how do you see that ending?

I don’t know. Time will tell and we shall see.

10. The Lackawanna County primary for Commissioners on both sides. Thoughts?

On the Democratic side Evie Refalko McNuilty is gearing up. Pat O'Malley has pissed a lot of people off with hio power plays but he has a record of winning. Jerry Notarianni will not likely cozy up to him either but stranger things have happened. .
The GOP will be a free for all. Laureen Cummings may not have an easy time in the primaries given her stance on some social issues. But it will all play out.

11. What about Trump saying the country was headed for a Depression under the Obama economic policies.

You can’t take his shit seriously. Obama saved the country from a Depression. The GOP whined about the slowest recovery in history. Wait and see what this wizard wrought with his trade deals. It is comical for Diaper Don to talk economics. I still want to see the guy who took his tests at Wharton.

12. Are you going to see Michael Smerconish when he comes to town in April?

Yep Mrs. LuLac already bought the tickets and is a fan.

13. Dave, 4000 editions, millions of words, over 1.2 million hits, as a favor it’s been a while, can we BP please?

Sure. Here ya go.
