WHO EXACTLY IS BEHIND THE PUSH TO DUMP BIDEN

Pass the torch USA is a PAC set up by Steve Schmidt and Dean Phillip...it is set up to force Joe Biden out of the race...one of the contributors is Tom Strickler.    

Phillips ran in a primary against Biden and got his clock cleaned. Strickler had told Sen Martin Heinrich of New Mexico that he wouldn't get a dime if he didn't turn on Biden and Heinrich did just that...If you think these guys want Kamala Harris for President, think again, but they refuse to say who should run...this conversation is not going away before the August deadlines for Ohio, Washington, and, Virginia.

In my lifetime I have watched 30 party conventions.  This year, I sat out the GOP confab in Milwaukee because I knew it was going to be full of lies. I have been concentrating on the all star game and enjoying the heck out of summer.

However I did see the lineup that introduced Trump to the assembled multitude.  A good friend of mine who was a former Republican and even Mrs. LuLac told me there is no Republican party as we knew it less than two decades ago, It is now the Trump party of felons, wife beaters, rapists, scammers, liars and racists.

Dana White was on the podium, he was on film at a New Year’s Eve party slapping his wife around.        

Hulk Hogan once used the “n” word to disapprove of someone his daughter was dating.

Peter Nevaro: Straight out of jail.

Kid Rock: using past homophobic verbiage.

Trump himself with his felony and other charges.

As my man Joe would say, “no joke!”  

The scary part is that these main speakers were jeered by the people attending this event. 

I was half expecting to hear the Trump campaign might have sent for Hugo Selinski.

A.O.C. CALLS OUT DEMS WHO WANT TO DUMP JOE

As another onslaught of Democrats calls for President Biden to step aside, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez insisted that they don't want to just replace Joe, they want to get rid of Vice President Kamala Harris too.

In a late night screed on Instagram live, the New York Democrat said it is 'horse s***' that Democrats are giving anonymous quotes to journalists about how they don't believe Biden can win the election.

'If that's your opinion, and if that's what you think is best for the country, put your name on it, okay?' she said. 'That's a bunch of horse s***.'

She called out a 'lack of thought' from Democratic leadership who did not want Biden to run but did not have a fool-proof alternate plan.  She warned that much of the newly anti-Biden Democratic establishment would also push out Harris.

'I'm just going to say it. If you think that there is consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave that Kamala, that they will support Kamala, Vice President Harris, you would be mistaken.'

'I'm in these rooms. I see what they say in conversations, Ocasio-Cortez said. 'They are interested in removing the whole ticket.'

A huge amount of donor class and a huge amount of these elites, and a huge amount of these folks in these rooms that I see that are pushing for President Biden to not be the nominee ,also are not interested in seeing the Vice President being the nominee. Will they win out on that? I don't know.' 

'To a certain extent, I don't care what name is on there. We are not losing. I don't know about you, but my community does not have the option to lose,' she went on. 'My people are the first ones deported. They're the first ones put in Rikers, they're the first ones whose families are killed by war.' 

'I'm not here to tell you that if Joe Biden is the nominee, he's definitely going to win because I don't think if anybody is the nominee, we're definitely going to win,' Ocasio-Cortez also said on Friday.

'There's no safe option,' she admitted. 

'I can't tell you all how shameful it feels to hear all these leaks about what Democratic leaders are staying and not to have a single one of them out here confirming or denying it,' the Minnesota Democrat and progressive 'Squad' member wrote on X. 

'It's a lack of leadership and it's making all Democrats look bad. Whatever this mess leads to will not undo the damage that has already been inflicted. May God help us all.' 

 

SEND THIS JUDGE BACK TO LAW SCHOOL

Slate reports that soon after the news broke that Donald Trump will become the first former president to face federal criminal charges—37 counts that include willful retention of national defense information under the Espionage Act, conspiracy to obstruct justice, concealing documents, and false statements—it was also revealed that Judge Aileen Cannon is scheduled to oversee the case. In our view as experts with more than a century of collective experience in judicial and other ethics questions, that cannot stand. She must recuse herself from the case or, if she refuses, be reassigned by the appropriate judicial oversight authorities.

Her name may be familiar to many. Cannon heard Trump’s challenge to the government’s classified-documents investigation, appointed a special master to review the documents, and temporarily barred the Justice Department from using those records in its investigation. That much-maligned decision was later reversed by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit consisting of three conservative judges: two Trump appointees and the G.W. Bush–appointed Chief Judge William Pryor. They wrote that her decision violated “clear” law and that her approach “would be a radical reordering of our caselaw limiting the federal courts’ involvement in criminal investigations” and “violate bedrock separation-of-powers limitations.”

Now that the same investigation has resulted in an indictment against Trump, Cannon’s prior, fundamentally erroneous approach casts a shadow over the proceedings. Because her earlier handling of this case went well outside the judicial norm and was roundly criticized by the Court of Appeals, reasonable observers of this case could question her impartiality. Federal law has a way to deal with this challenge: Under 28 U.S.C. § 455(a), a judge “shall disqualify himself [or herself] in any proceeding in which his [or her] impartiality might reasonably be questioned.” Cannon’s situation clearly fits that test, and she is obligated to recuse herself in Trump’s case.

Recusal is necessary here to avoid serious concerns about Cannon’s impartiality in the public eye. The judicial recusal rule is about preserving the public’s confidence in the judicial system; it does not require a showing of actual bias. Rather, as the Supreme Court has explained, it simply asks whether “an objective observer” in the public “would have questioned [the judge’s] impartiality.” That is clearly the case with Cannon. It is irrelevant whether a judge subjectively believes herself to be impartial. Because the statute aims at ensuring both justice and “the appearance of justice,” a federal judge must recuse if facts connected to the judge’s actions in the case would cause an objective observer to doubt the fairness of the proceedings.

CASEY SECURES $4 MILLION FOR PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY TO EXPAND ADVANCED MANUFACTURING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

FUNDING WILL GO TOWARDS PENN COLLEGE’S MIDAS PROGRAM, WHICH PREPARES PENNSYLVANIANS FOR JOBS ACROSS HIGH-DEMAND MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES

INVESTMENT IS PART OF $244 MILLION DEPARTMENT OF LABOR INVESTMENT IN REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIPS ACROSS THE NATION

Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) secured $4 million in funding for Pennsylvania College of Technology to expand Registered Apprenticeship programs that will prepare workers for jobs in high-demand advanced manufacturing industries. The funding will support the College’s Modular, Industry-Driven Apprenticeship Strategies (MIDAS) program, which enables Registered Apprenticeship programs to train job seekers with the skills they need for high-tech jobs. The award is from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Apprenticeship Building America (ABA) Grant Program and is part of a new Biden Administration’s $244 million investment in Registered Apprenticeships Nationwide.  

“Registered Apprenticeships allow Pennsylvanians to earn a living while learning the skills that will allow them to excel in advanced, high-paying jobs,” said Senator Casey. “This funding will create more opportunities for people across Pennsylvania to learn a variety of high-tech skills and join the workforce in the industries that power our Nation.”

The funding from the ABA Grant Program is part of the Biden Administration’s initiative to help modernize, diversify, and expand the Registered Apprenticeship system in growing U.S. industries.

Senator Casey has long supported Registered Apprenticeships. In 2010, he secured $916,000 for PCT to provide green job training for local workers in energy efficiency and weatherization. Two years later, he celebrated $14.9 million for a Marcellus Shale workforce development program at the Pennsylvania College of Technology and Westmoreland County Community College. Senator Casey has also supported investment in unions for apprenticeships and workforce development, including $92,000 for the IBEW Local 163’s Advanced Technology Center in Luzerne County and $322,000 for the Steamfitters Local Union No 449 in Butler County to provide direct training services to improve the local workforce.

Senator Casey has a long record of securing federal investment in the future of Pennsylvania’s workforce. He fought to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which included tax credits for individuals and companies manufacturing or deploying clean energy technologies to help lower costs and secure our energy independence. The IRA passed with a Casey-led provision to provide a “domestic content” bonus credit for companies that use American steel, iron, and manufactured goods. Casey also championed the CHIPS and Sciences Act to invest in American technology, innovation and manufacturing, particularly in the semiconductor industry. Producing chips in the United States will also benefit the workers in industries that rely on semiconductors from autoworkers to health care workers
