HEY LUZERNE COUNTY,

BE NICE TO THE HILL BILLY

TOMORROW

The other day on social media, a local man asked that people show respect to Vice President J.D. Vance when he visits West Pittston. Residents were asked to show respect. Well, many countered this request with “respect must be earned”. That was met with responses that the Hill Billy has hardly earned any respect given his behavior during the campaign.   Here are a few of them which proved just how respectful Vance was.

1.    In a resurfaced 2021 interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, then-Senate-candidate Vance lamented that the U.S. was being run by Democrats and “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable,

2.  In 2021, Vance attacked Randi Weingarten—president of the American Federation of Teachers—because “she doesn’t have a single child.” Vance stated: “If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the hell alone.

3.  Before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, Vance was worried that if abortion became illegal in his state of Ohio then “every day George Soros [would send] a 747 to Columbus to load up disproportionately Black women to get them to go have abortions in California.” No hill billy, it’s your GOP Governor in Texas that sends people on a plane while his state falls short of flood protection measures.

4.  Vance says Biden is trying to kill MAGA voters: “If you wanted to kill a bunch of MAGA voters in the middle of the heartland, how better to target them and their kids with this fentanyl .. It does look intentional. It’s like Biden wants to punish people who didn’t vote for him.”

5.  Back in 2021, Vance said that people with children deserve more votes per election, which only reiterated his outlandish obsession with child-rearing. “Let’s give votes to all children in this country, but let’s give control over those votes to the parents of those children.” He continued his rationale with: “If you don’t have as much of an investment in the future of this country, maybe you shouldn’t get nearly the same voice.”

So as the Hill Billy comes to West Pittston, we are told to “be nice”, “be polite” and respect the office of the Vice Presidency and THIS GUY. Sorry. This guy is just as divisive as Spiro Agnew and has not earned that “respect”,

 MAGA MAN

CITED AND OFF TO COURT

The MAGA crowd is out in full force defending one of their own—a truly vile individual and fellow hatemonger. A courtroom recently viewed video evidence of a confrontation between election denier Joe Granteed and three Luzerne County Sheriff’s Deputies during a March 19 Election Board meeting. Granteed, 68, is faces charges including aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. The video, presented by an Assistant District Attorney, showed Granteed refusing to stop talking after his time expired and getting physical with Deputy Jerry DeHaza, who was told to remove him. Granteed’s attorney argued the charges should be dropped, claiming no injury occurred. Judge Donald Whittaker is expected to decide soon.

As usual, Joe Granteed made sure to spew his bigoted nonsense at the meeting—accusing Republican Board Member Rick Morelli of supporting “trans surgery and drag queens,” and saying the Democratic Party is full of “criminals, traitors, and frauds.”

This action against Morelli gives you the idea how breathtakingly hateful and stupid Granteed is. Morelli served on County Council, is a stand up guy and unlike Granteed was doing his job.

Take a look at this speaker who obviously dressed for respect. (Watch for tremoval after the lady at the podium is asked to step aside. )

Everything directed at the board is a reflection of his own ignorance and beliefs. ACCUSATION IS CONFESSION.

Granteed, 68, of 37 Enterprise St., is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, disrupting a meeting and harassment following his alleged outburst on March 19 at the Luzerne County Courthouse.

Following a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, Magisterial District Judge Donald L. Whittaker bound over all charges for trial.

According to prosecutors, Granteed failed to yield the lectern during public comment, began to “verbally assault” the board members — specifically Rick Morelli — and ultimately shoved a deputy who tried to remove him.

His attorney, Matthew Muckler, argued during the hearing that Granteed had no intention of disrupting the meeting and was engaging in protected First Amendment conduct

Assistant District Attorney Allyson Kacmarski countered that Granteed’s unruly conduct warranted his removal from the meeting.

To pay for his legal defense, Granteed launched a crowdfunding page. Among his top donors? None other than Benny Herring, Vice Chair of the Luzerne County Ethics Board, and State Rep. Jamie Walsh.

Walsh is standing for re-election after his resounding victory by three votes. This endorsement of the uncouth behavior of Granteed tells you all you need to know about Jamie. Granteed faces a hearing on August 29th in front of Judge David Lupas. (Citizens' Voice,)

TRUMP LIES ABOUT ICE ASSAULTS

The White House on Wednesday posted an article to its official site, titled “Democrats Inspire Vicious, Escalating Attacks on ICE.” The Department of Homeland Security — which oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement — has said attacks on ICE agents and other federal officers working in immigration enforcement are up 700% over the same six-month period a year ago, which the White House article says is “a direct consequence of dangerous, inflammatory rhetoric from Democrat politicians.”

Each of the 79 assaults on federal officers over a six-month period is too many, just as each of the over 140 assaults on police officers by rampaging Trump supporters on Jan. 6 were unacceptable crimes. However, the same president who incited that bloody riot at the Capitol pardoned nearly every one of those assailants, lauding them as American heroes. Now, in his second term, Trump’s White House blames “inflammatory rhetoric” by Democrats for the recent spate of assaults on federal officers.

And a scan of the White House’s article shows 14 quotes from Democratic lawmakers, which are mostly benign criticisms of ICE’s violent, secretive tactics — or political criticisms of the agency itself.

But again, this White House grievance fest is nothing new.
