MEUSER SAYS NO

U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser will not seek the Republican nomination for governor of Pennsylvania, despite having President Donald Trump's recent promise of support if he were to run. Meuser's decision to run again for his northeastern Pennsylvania seat rather than governor leaves the Republican Party with a shorter bench of candidates to challenge Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro in the 2026 election. “My focus needs to remain on doing my job, serving my constituents, and executing the plans to strengthen our country,” Meuser said in a statement released Tuesday night.

A few observations.

1.                   I am disapppinted because I think a race between Meruser and Governor Shapiro would be an exchange of contrasting ideas. Meuser is a trule believer and when pushed about his total support for the Trump agenda, he doesn't back down.  The debates and ads would be wildly entertaining.

2.                   Meuser would get a good deal of support from the MAGA base which he has been cultivating. They will come out in full force.

3.                   However he is wise to pay atention to his district which he most likely will hold for life. But there will be backlash because of the draconian policies of the Trump administration.

4.                  Finally this. Trump has said that if Meuser runs for Governor, he would have the support of the President. Meuser is smart enough to know (but will never  admit) that Trump is fulol of canal water with tat promise. Trump is for Trump, Period. The President made the ame opromose to Lou Barletta in 2018 when he ra for Senate. Exceopt for one rally, Trumpo gave him zip. This has to be in the back of his mind.

THE CRUELTY CONTINUES

MAKING AMERICA DUMBER

Undocumented children will no longer qualify for federally funded preschool through the Head Start program under a major policy shift the Trump administration announced Thursday. In a news release, the Department of Health and Human Services said it was rescinding a nearly 30-year-old interpretation of federal law issued under President Bill Clinton that allowed undocumented immigrants to access certain programs because they were not considered “federal public benefits.”

As President Donald Trump pursues his anti-immigrant agenda, this change may be the most direct and far-reaching effort to target children after his attempts to end birthright citizenship. His administration has also ramped up immigration enforcement and deportations, withheld funding for English learners, and threatened to punish states that offer in-state tuition to undocumented college students.

Administration officials have said they hope many immigrants will “self-deport” if the United States makes life here more uncomfortable. Health and Human Services leaders cast the change as a way to protect benefits for Americans.

Okay, but in reality, they are making all Americans dumber.  By denying early learning for tender age children, they are ensuring that there will be a learning crisis in schools. Or if the kids don't get to schools, we'll have an uneducated class of people that will resort to crime.  These MAGA goons tell you how much they protect lives of the unborn but do their best to hurt small children. The cruelty and sheer meanness of this administration, under the guise of protecting  the country is pathetic and downright un-American.
