Donald Trump spits in the face of the January 6th victims as the US Air Force announces full military funeral honors for Ashli Babbit, the traitorous insurrectionist who was shot and killed while breaking into the Capitol
This is an insult to every brave American who has ever worn the uniform...
Under Secretary of the Air Force Matthew Lohmeier wrote a letter to Babbit's family, stating that while their request for military honors was originally declined, he has been "persuaded that the previous determination was incorrect."
“[A]fter reviewing the circumstances of Ashli’s death, and considering the information that has come forward since then, I am persuaded that the previous determination was incorrect,” stated Lohmeier. “Additionally, I would like to invite you and your family to meet me at the Pentagon to personally offer my condolences.”
Babbit served in active duty, then the Air Force Reserves, then the Air National Guard. Ironically, she at one point was a member of 13th Security Forces Squadron, 113th Wing, DC Air National Guard. The 113th wing is responsible for defending the area around the Capitol and is nicknamed the "Capital Guardians.
By storming the Capitol and attempting to breach an area where members of Congress were trying to evacuate, Babbit betrayed her country in the most profound sense imaginable. She was attempting to overthrow the democracy that our armed forces are sworn to protect with their lives. Men and women have died to prevent exactly the thing that Babbit was trying to accomplish.
Her actions were deeply un-American, undeniably fascist, and the brave police officer who stopped her was justified in using lethal force. There's no telling what horrific things she and her fellow traitors would have done if they had managed to get their hands on an elected official.
These military honors add insult to injury, because back in May the Trump administration agreed to pay out nearly $5 million in taxpayer dollars to Babbit's family as part of a wrongful death settlement. Under MAGA, you can betray your country, try to overthrow democracy, and then your family gets a fat payout when you're killed in the process. Disgusting does not even begin to describe this decision. (FACEBOOK)
