PRESIDENT AT UNITED NATIONS

President Donald Trump on Tuesday left United Nations General Assembly delegates stupefied and stunned after a 40-minute speech that meandered from false boasts about his domestic economic record to threats of annihilation against Iran to an incoherent rant about why Artificial Intelligence should be referred to as "Super Intelligence" instead.

Trump, who spoke in the customary time slot allocated to American presidents on the first day of speeches by heads of state and government at the annual gathering in New York City, appeared to have brought his usual stateside political stump speech — which often veered into State of the Union territory — to the iconic green-marble rostrum by opening his remarks with nearly 10 straight minutes of bragging about American economic and domestic conditions of no interest to the global body.

He boasted about American stock markets and his administration’s massive tax cut for wealthy Americans that it enacted last year while describing the country as having been “dead” when he was sworn into office last January.

President Donald Trump said U.S. and Iranian officials met on Tuesday, shortly after he threatened in his address to the U.N. General Assembly that he may “annihilate” the Islamic Republic if a deal isn’t reached soon to end nearly seven-month war. Trump told reporters about the meeting but offered few details about the talks.

Trump returned to the U.N. General Assembly at a tumultuous moment for the world and for his presidency. The president used his address to tick off progress — including adding private sector jobs, stemming illegal migration and curbing crime — before defending his decision to start a war with Iran. He accused Iran of stalling to make a deal to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz and negotiate an endgame to the war until after the midterm elections in the U.S. The global economy, meanwhile, continues to roil from the war.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres pleaded for “a world built on interdependence” as he made his final address Tuesday to the General Assembly gathering of world leaders. The U.N. leader has long urged leaders not to abandon cooperation and shared decision-making amid accelerating global challenges and rising great-power competition. Tuesday’s message took on additional urgency because he leaves office at the end of this year.

Trump is hosting Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Washington this week as economic and tech competition between the two countries escalates. Both leaders are aiming to stabilize fragile ties, though no major agreements are expected. The meeting itself is considered

A 28‑year‑old Venezuelan national, Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez, was shot in the torso by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer while working a DoorDash delivery in north Austin, Texas, on September 20, 2026

According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, the shooting occurred just before 1 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 183 and Anderson Square

Witnesses & some officials: ICE officer allegedly rammed Pérez’s car, exited, and fired multiple rounds. Why do ICE thug PIGS need to fire multiple rounds when ONE person is in a car?  

No official video: No body‑cam or dashcam footage has been released

DoorDash confirmed Pérez was mid‑delivery when the shooting happened. This is disgusting. They not only sre depriving me of work BUT TRYING TO FUCKJING KILL THEM! These guys are doing nothing for the economy.  

.He was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center in serious but stable condition with a single gunshot wound to the torso

Pérez was released from the hospital within hours into ICE custody, before his family could see him or get updates

. His attorney, Kate Lincoln‑Goldfinch, said ICE agents were targeting him under a deportation order, but she stated he entered the U.S. lawfully
