Personally I'll never forgive Rudy Giuliani for making a fortune from a horrific disaster that he and his city were in no way prepared to handle! I will never understand how he staked his claim to heroism in any way! And then he hit the lecture tour and milked it unmercifully. He was like Bela Lugosi/Count Dracula as he went around frightening foolish people with a tale of impending doom. Thank the Lord the voters rejected him quickly. At least Lugosi was a real human being!

This is what politicians do. Always have - always will. The lecture circuit is 2nd to the public trough. Maybe its first if you compare the money they make lecturing to the money they make for serving.
If I had the money to go to one I would have. Watching a man say his piece in person helps me evaluate a lot of things about him.
How did he scare people? I neither saw nor read anything really scary. Of course I don't trust those terrorist bastards to begin with.
If his "tales of impending doom" smartened up a few asses then it succeeded.
Rudy did manage to cut through a lot of red-tape to get the cleanup job done in a respectful manner.
No matter what: we are 0 for 7. I'm sure you agree we need to maintain the streak.

Giuliani did what any other pol would have done with what was handed to him. You can blame the media for that. Everyone else was back on their heels and he came through as a take-charge type. If things didn't start unraveling with Judith & Bernie K he might well be the GOP lead right now. I thought he did a good job cleaning up NYC. Could he be president? Jury's out, but the 2 guys running now don't really give me the warm & fuzzys.....
