MORAN EXITS
Prothonotary Jill Moran has informed the Governor's office that she will resign her office. Effective date is March 13th. Chuck Ardo, Governor Rendell's Press Secretary says she is resigning because "the circumstances in the Luzerne County Courthouse are making my presence in the office a distraction". Moran was elected Prothonotary in 2001 taking over for GOP official Carolee Medico. Medico snatched the office out of Democratic control from 16 year veteran Eugene Duffy. Prior to Duffy's reign, Bernard Podcasy, Senior held the job. Moran has been under fire since 2007 when it was revealed the Prothonotary’s Office filed a John Doe name for an IRS tax lien from Attorney Robert Powell. Since then, Moran's name has been linked to Powell who in turn has been linked to outsted Judges Ciaverella and Conahan. This of course opens the field on both sides of the political spectrum for this office. Speculation has been that former Judge Ann Lokuta might throw her hat into the ring for the post. Gerald Mullery has already announced his candidacy.

I hear Carolee is throwing her hat back in the ring....and you know what, she just might win.
How about Lokuta? Voters feel they owe this woman one and perhaps they do. If she wants it...
god i hope we get a hot looking woman in there, i can't imagine looking at walter or carolee....
I hope we see more resignations, especially among the judges !!!
if moran doesnt lose her license i will be sick!!! shes been corrupt for years! having someone sign her name to sheriffs sales to the john doe incident for powell!! AND NOTHING HAPPENING TO HER??? I WILL BE SICK!!
Ther Sheriffs are corrupt to. I had an ex sister in law place a PFA on me with false accusations and the Luz Cty Sheriffs went to a neighbors house and allowed them to sift through the papers on their own. A complete invasion of my privacy. I should have sued as my reputation was at stake. The PFA was thrown out in a different county. Up yours Luz Cty!

all of the sudden, everyone has been "extorted" by the ganster judges!!! i cant believe the FBI is buying this!!!! i just cant believe that there letting the other criminals go!!! POWELL , MORAN, ETC... i'm loosing faith in them!! and if in fact, they're saying they were afraid of the ganster judges, then lokuta MUST be telling the truth , that they pushed her around for years!
