STEPPING BACK
Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak didn’t share a stage when President Obama visited Pittsburgh on Wednesday, just a week after the White House acknowledged it used former President Bill Clinton to offer Sestak a role as an administration advisory board<>a two-page report saying nothing unethical or illegal occurred. Sestak “has a previous commitment to receive the endorsement of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council, and as the co-host for Philadelphia FIGHT’s AIDS Education Month, the congressman will be presenting awards at the opening and regrets that he will be unable to attend the event in Pittsburgh,” said Joe Langdon, a Sestak spokesman. Specter, planned to join Obama at the event. Other members of the Pennsylvania congressional delegation also were staying away, including Democratic Rep. Mark Critz, who l won a special election that Republicans had hoped to capture. Instead, he will attended a Johnstown business event. “For a party that is so seemingly proud of enacting their big-government agenda, congressional Democrats are conspicuously absent from the campaign trail,” said Paul Lindsay, a spokesman for the House Republicans’ campaigns. “If this is their way of listening to voters, November could be even more difficult than they bargained for.”
Combined AP Reports.
AND NOW COLORADO
MSNBC reports that President Barack Obama was unaware a top aide encouraged a Colorado Democrat to apply for an international development job instead of challenging the candidate whom the president favored in a Senate race, the White House said Thursday. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs faced fresh questions about another backroom political deal — the first involving a Pennsylvania candidate, now a Colorado hopeful — that put the Obama administration on the defensive. The White House acknowledged that it had contacted former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff about possible jobs in hopes of persuading him to skip the Senate primary.
BUDGET ON TIME?
The State House wants to get a budget done on time this year. Gov. Ed Rendell and lawmakers agreed yesterday that there was a willingness to compromise on issues in order to finish next year's budget by the June 30 deadline. Rendell is once more going to be pushing for more money on Education but the Governor should re think any idea he has about once more fooling around with Library Funding. Kids who don’t have the resources to use computers at home go to the public library. School district Libraries shut down at 3:00PM because God Forbid if we ask a publicly paid union school teacher to work extra time. The Governor should restore Library funding to the Ridge levels.

First off congrats on #1200. Every day you are a consistant force in my internet life. Thank you.
Second, the Dick Van Dyke Show has stood the test of time. The episodes are just as fresh as when they started.
Third, is it any wonder no one engages in politics anymore with the Sestak thing and now the deal in Colorado!
WHO Hoo......wonder what those Legislators are watching on their computers when everyone else is droning on and on!!!
corbett infiltrating the lack dems. the old time power brokers must be rolling in their graves.

The Dems are making a serious mistake by backing away from Obama. Although he's taking hits, his popularity is way higher than the Congressional Dems.
When did it become wrong to play politics in politics? There is not a president living or dead who did not play politics while in office and that goes back to Washington, Jefferson, Adams and right up to these happy days. What the hell are people thinking about? As the head of the party, be it "D" or "R", the president has an obligation to his party to do what is best for the party. The big questions are and folks seem to be missing them: Will Sestak pay a price for causing this mini embarrassment to the president? How effective will he be as a Democratic Senator in a Democratic administration who he seemed to have embarrassed? Was the fact that President Obama took Specter on his road trip and left Sestak home a sign of future official banishment? Your Lunch Buddy
1200 great, great days of offering us the best in politics and pop culture. keep it up man.
Corbett a Democrat Committeeman -- what a joke. This clown has no more interest in helping the Democrat Party succeed than I have of starting a KKK in LuLac Land.
Corbett is an overgrown ego who really needs a life. He makes me sick.
Where did his mojo go? He spent more mojo than he had. He's got a big mojo deficit. Bad things with big deficits. Hmmm....
IN RESPONSE
Corbett is an overgrown ego who really needs a life. He makes me sick.
