INTERVIEW

One of the stars of the hit TLC reality show “Cake Boss” has been charged with sexually assaulting a minor according to WPIX TV. Remy Gonzalez was arrested on August 17 by police in New Jersey and was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts sexual assault, two counts endangering the welfare of a child, two counts aggravated criminal sexual conduct and two counts criminal sexual conduct. Gonzalez, who appears on the show as one of the cake decorators, is the brother-in-law of the show’s star, Buddy Valastro. “Cake Boss” chronicles a family-run bakery in Hoboken, N.J. , that produces custom-made cakes. This week we had the opportunity to speak with someone who actually is a big fan of the show, “Cake Boss” and traveled one morning to New Jersey to see the bakery and pick up some treats.
Q: Why the fascination with Cake Boss?
A: It’s a fun show. The people are real characters.
Q: What time did you leave?
A: 4 in the morning to get to HoBoken. When we got there shortly after 6:30pm there was a line out the door.
Q: What did you buy?
A: We just found small things. There were cakes that were priced at over a hundred bucks but we just got a few things.
Q: Like what?
A: A few canolis, cookies, brownies.
Q: You drove all the way for that?
A: Hey, I’m a fan.
Q: Any thoughts on the recent charges against one of the decorators?
A: Naw.
Q: Next time I’ll recommend my favorite bakery.
A: Which is?
Q: The Sanitary in Nanticoke.
A: Oh yeah, I hear you’re going to reference them in your new book.
Q: Yep.
A: What are you calling it?
Q: Buy the book. When it comes out.
A: I will. I’ll read t with a canoli.

I noticed the object of your man crush Kevin Lynn is back. He is writing for the TL 2x/week. I am surprised you haven't done a gushy posting on him......

How much money would anyone like to bet he isn't being paid as a full time columnist. Probably doing it for next to nothing just so his ego can be satisified by opining in public.

Funny, this post reminded me of Kevin Lynn too. I don't know why?

I've met some people with big egos. Some with reason, but Kevin Lynn was due for a smackdown. I doubt he will learn anything from it. Next on the list is Corbett.
What a blowhard! (However, He is right about the drilling situation though.)
These people like politicians disappear from the scene after awhile without much of a trace. The previous talk show host on WILK left a smaller arena as his legacy. Lynn left nothing. Ego crazed as he is, Corbett has potential to do some good.

Corbett is long winded sometimes but never a blowhard.

Yonks,

I looked up blowhard in two dictionaries and I think the poster had it right. You dont think he is talkative and ego centric? What Corbett do you listen to?

Seems to me, almost all of these talk show hosts end up the same way. They all get full of themselves and the power they have over the mic. Noticed Corbett is now on that same path to destruction as Kevin Lynn, Fred Williams, Etc. Seems like after a while they all start getting too cocky and start disrespecting their listing audience and callers. They're quick to shut the callers off and then bad mouth or ridicule them when they can't defend themselves or rebut what was said about them. I've also noticed lately, if a caller does not agree with Corbett or give him some sort of compliment on his show, they're history really quick. The ego is a funny thing on a person, it takes over in a short time and then goes the downward spiral.
